D Max, your the Man........... it still goes way over my head. But for what you do for others that are also interested in this sort of stuff by explaining how you do it - your still THE MAN!!!
Just got my 3 crab pot motors delivered today, got the 3 power supplies, got 6 of the IBTwhatsitsname (who knows when 6DOF will be on the "menu"), arduino... just need some small stuff to begin testing the connection and motion part.... next will be to plan how I'm going to make the rig... I have a GT Track and want to see if I can make a frame under it to make that move, dunno. Fun times ahead :D And once more! Thank you Dave, I wouldn't have even considered doing this without your videos man!
That's awesome!! Fantastic. I dont have a good 'sim racing frame or anything like your GT track or I would have tried it on that. So building my own for now. I have a new project getting lined up before i try a 6dof.. but now at least i have 6 motors.. Thanks for watching and thanks for your kind commentary my friend! 🙂
Hi Dmax! I've got my 2dof seat That i've set up for some times now thanks to you ( 🙏) It's been working very nicely up until recently. Now one of my 12v windshield motor is getting very hot after a few minutes of use... The motion is still working well dispite that but I'm afraid to fry something a one point and it seems to be getting slowly worse :/ Do you have an idea of what can possibly cause this motor to overheat..? I've already opened and cleaned the magnetic part of it but it didn't do it. It's quite strange considering my second motor is the exact same and it isn't overheating at all 🤔 Thank you for all the good knowledge you share ! Merci !
First of all, thanks for the super! Ok.. So I would check the electrical connections. they have to be tight. if It's not tight the heat will build up on the wires and that's bad. Second. maybe swap the IBT's around.. It's a pain I know.. but I am trying to come up with a 'snap on' kit' that might help. Third. Maybe the IBT is bad? generally it will overheat a few times then just fail if they are bad. Sometimes the Motors themselves are not the same, even though you would think they are. It's frustrating I know. I did not have a great time using WW motors. They just did not have enough power for me even with a seat mover.. I went to the 24v wheelchair motors .. I also recommend the 12v crab pot motors. I have them on two of my rigs and they act very responsive. Hope that helps.. Maybe someone else in the community can send an answer too.. Dave
great question but hard to answer.. so the Crab pot throw around me and my rig just fine at 12 volts. the Wheelchair motors I used in my video were 24 volts which have more torque because 24 volts is twice as strong. I think you would be fine with either one of those solutions. 350 watts per motor is probably enough to push you around just fine. Let me know what you decide to do and hopefully my videos have covered it. Dave
Good eye.. Yeah I probably need to switch it.. There is a little 'tick' mark in the software where you can flip the directions of the motors if you discover they are going the wrong way.. It should tilt left when turning right.. But setting each up individually is the key.. Good one Tom! Dave

hi dmax , I can not equalize my system , my project is stopped , I noticed that my 24v motor generates reverse current for the ibt2 drives , this could be the problem of my system , 6v to 11v return in short movement
as the motors stop, the bridge h could be going into protection due to the return current of the motors, because I'm driving the car, everything works fine, suddenly it stops and the chair falls, restarting everything goes back to work
