JZX90 1JZ Hyrdrofan Pump to 2JZ Water Pump Conversion for Soarer/Mark 2/Chaser/Cresta/Supra
Hydrofans are superior to clutch fans and e-fans in terms of CFM, noise, and efficiency. It's a shame that parts sourcing and pricing for the OEM hydrofan is difficult and expensive. Although not as good, converting to e-fans or JZX100 clutch fan are still great options to keep your temps low. If using e-fans, just be sure you're buying quality fans with decent CFM ratings.
In this video we will be converting our stock hydrofan water pump to a 2JZ water pump. I'm using SPAL electric fans for my setup but if you're doing the JZX100 clutch fan and shroud combo, you don't need to worry about relays and wiring.
Parts needed for e-fan setup:
1.) TF Works Koyo Radiator + Shroud + x2 Spal fans + Radiator cap + x1 Spal harness +: fan switch sensor: www.tf-works.com/jzx90-jzx100-koyo-radiator-shroud-with-dual-spal-fans/
2.) 2nd Spal relay + harness: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003PB4AY8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
3.) Xcessive radiator mounts: www.xcessivemanufacturing.com/upper-radiator-mounts.html
4.) Driftmotion 1JZ/2JZ Non-VVTi Water Pump Pulley: www.driftmotion.com/Driftmotion-1JZ-2JZ-NON-VVTi-Water-Pump-Pulley-p/dm3579.htm
5.) 2JZ-GTE/1JZGTE water pump: www.driftmotion.com/2JZ-GTE-1JZ-GTE-water-pump-p/dm131.htm
6.) JZX100 Overflow tank (aluminum): www.rhdjapan.com/kts-aluminum-radiator-reservoir-tank-jzx100.html
7.) Radiator hoses: www.rhdjapan.com/kts-4-ply-silicone-radiator-hose-full-set-jzx100.html

From factory, JZX100s pick up speed from the ABS sensors but JZX90s pick up speed from a gear speed sensor within a transmission. Correct, I was only able to easily justify this since I got virtually everything at a good discount around Black Friday. But r154 is good too. So My spare tire would still fit in the factory location underneath the speakers Then I added another half inch piece of plywould paint it and cover it with speaker Grill material so you couldn't see the speakers at all Also had to cover the bottom of the 6×9s With boxes so the subs would not blow them out
