I'm not sure which X90 trim came with a factory cabin filter. Mine is a 94 Tourer V and it apparently didn't come with one. I'm guessing it may have been a specific option like the subwoofer/amp package and rear deck air purifier.
If yours did come with one, there would be a panel with two tabs that allows you to slide out the old ones and install the new ones from the bottom.
The cabin filter is the same as that of the SC300/400 (huge thank you to John Halkoski for sharing this info).

Finally a channel with relatable JZX content. While everyone is busy turning their cars into drift missiles, this the kind of simple yet more relatable content. Thanks so much, will change out mine too.

Great video! I would have also used the opportunity to clean out the evaporator coil and blow out any dirt or debris that may have accumulated into the cooling box over the period of time before installing the filter as well.

Wow, so many more steps than a modern car. They didn't think about making it easy to change back then :)

Hell yeah! I might as well do this while I figure out why my A/C isn't working

Man, you can just convert your air conditioner to conditioner which allows you to change a cabin filter more easily. You just need to buy an 88899-22280 plate cover for the air filter and an 88524-22010 bottom panel which contains two special squarehead screws and wing nuts for the plate cover. Or you can just make a hole in your bottom panel and find compliment squarehead screws and wing nuts and apply your brand new plate cover. Part number of the original filter (you need two pieces for replacement) is 88508-22020 (but shown in your video looks very same).

Good job man. I followed John's write up as well. I took all that crap out just to find out I could have just dropped the bottom cover. The previous owner in Japan took really good care of the maintenance.
