LG is better…also has direct drive motor…much more efficient and quiet
The big Suzy Homemaker needs work,if you decide to sell the little LG let me know! I will buy it! Great video!
Thanks, unfortunately the LG is sold already, but I would've gladly sold it to you. Thanks for watching.
These were really cool machines but were plagued with alot of problems. Too bad they didnt perfect the machine ,it was a really cool design. The same could be said for the Whirlpool Calypso
@@mgrella63 Agreed a second generation would've been nice if Maytag didn't go out and whirlpool took over.
Ca ne doit pas bien laver cette machine
I just purchased this model and so glad I came across this video. The Auto fill cycle on other machines that I have purchased over the years never used enough water. Nice to know that this machine can adjust on it's own and gives me the confidence to use Auto fill.
@@LIMike-nd8yi yes it will do it on its own and when you first stop to peak inside, sometimes you may think wow I'd like a little more water as it's washing sometimes it will add more water later in the cycle. Good luck on your new machine.
I'd like to see delicates and handwash.
Why don’t you use the third agitator without the top piece? I wonder how that would go.
Finely got my hands on a old commercial speed queen it had 2 problems one the coin mechanism wouldn't go back enough to engage the time now fixed and the coupler is no good but can be replaced apart from that it works just needs rust converter pain on a few spots it's taken years to find one that isn't a complete dogs breakfast

I don't understand the obsession with washing in cold water. You wouldn't wash dishes in cold water. Detergent works better in at least warm water
@@jasondudley4917 i agree with you.
How does that tumbling action not result in a knot of clothes?
@@UncoordinatedPixie think of it as a front loader you'll get one or two things that are twisted but not the whole load and it's loosely twisted not tightly.

In my opinion it is the only efficient topload washer..I will never waste my money by buying a topload except for this beauty..this is buying worthy..unfortunately maytag washers arent available in my country although how I remember from your previous videos and according to what Ive read from here and there maytag doesnt make this model of washer anymore..right?..
@@kian4645 maytag, the company itself. The original company is no longer in business whirlpool bought them in 2006 and they discontinued all the true Maytag designs.
@ thank you for replying..so pitty they didnt continue this great design..especially this one that is very wonderfulI..i wonder how the clouth doesnt get stuck in the narrow space between the rim of those two rotating discs at the bottom of the tub?!!
@ it's very smooth and then they have a raised piece there between the two tumblers.

@@Wetsel7429 I believe that was Facebook marketplace. A lot of times you'll find a good one on an estate sale or if a young couple is moving into a house and the people left that behind.
@ oh wow! Thanks so much for the information!
How do you find this washer when it comes to cleaning compared to the more conventional Speed Queen, to your Miele, and to the top loaders with the wash plate on the bottom?
@@Shahrdad it is fine. You just have to know how to set the controls. If it's something that's very soiled you need to use a longer cycle, but it definitely does clean the clothes just that if they're very dirty, you would need a longer cycle then you would if they're just lightly soiled or you just want freshening If you're a family with kids that play in the yard and a blue collar job then get the traditional speed queen that will get the job done with faster cycle times.
Those are a solid tank
@@robertwhite9898 lol TY yes they are.
You are living the dream!!! I love all of your machines! I had one of those GE Filter Flo machines. I regret everyday that I let her go when I went to my first front loader in 2004. Have you had a hard time with getting them all plumbed? I fell like adding drain capability would be the hardest thing. I am in love with that Neptune Top loader. I have a 23 year old Neptune dryer that I bought brand new. I just replaced her motor. She is still chugging right along.
@@anfcowboy thanks for writing. I was really lucky that the plumbing was convenient down here. I have to drain everything down here into sump pumps or a sewer pump so I just run the hoses straight to the stump.. on the Neptune, the bathroom is right behind it so all I had to do is drill a hole through the wall and the plumber put a hot and cold valve for me and the drain goes right into the drain where the sink used to be that goes into the sewer pump. So I was lucky with all that I don't wanna part with any of them. I've had to make those decisions in the past to try to get try to get new machines.
The entire neighborhood knows it’s spinning!
@@JohnAK72 for sure, this is not the washer I use if I wanna do a load at night.

@@joshuajhagroo9096 I have seven right now. Many of them came and went but this bunch I think I'm gonna stay with.

Peter; I love your toy collection ❤ Can you put water in any of em?
@@briandoyle4298 I think I have a video of one of them with water in it the Structo
I'd like to hear the GE washer with the minibasket, filter-flo pan, and lid shut on normal speed, regular cycle, and small load setting. A full cycle will do for ASMR. I'd like to hear it for the memories. That sound has brought back many memories.
Weird how this idea didn't become a hit...
really wish they would bring it back
@@mariofixer I agree. 👍🏻👍🏻
It's highly unlikely that would happen. They were produced for probably 3 years at most. The service manual I have is dated Dec 2003. Whirlpool bought Maytag at end of Mar 2006. Production ended within a few months if not before the sale. Mine has serial number Dec 2005, I bought it new-in-box in May 2008 on clearance for $239, it had sat in a warehouse for more than 2 years.
@ oh wow that was a great find and a great deal because those machines were very expensive when they first came out they were the most expensive in the sears catalogue. I was in the store then checking out washers as usual.
Ok will it rince out as well
@@joshnewsome300 yes it does a higher water level final rinse and it does the spray rinse after each drain cycle so normally it's three spray rinses and if you select extra rinse , then you're actually getting another deep rinse and another spray rinse.
I saw the jeans cycle video yesterday. The acton is alot more effective than I thought it would be. I live in california. What part of New York are you from?
@@andrewclarke3622 New York City Bronx
I was in New York in 1997 and 1999. Love its history. Its a bit intense for me though. I dont make it a habit to ask where people are from
@@andrewclarke3622 it's a bit intense for me too at times. Believe me if I could move, I would.
I was born in California but grew up in Maryland and Michigan. When I was still in Michigan is when I first saw New York. I was in Mahattan. My sister is a Culinary Institute grad. We mother and I arrived about mid Morning, lunchtime, and when we left after dinner, it was around 10:30 almost 11, the place was just as busy as mid day! The only difference is that the sun went down. I get it why they call NY the city that never sleeps! I live in LA (since 1998). When I was still in Michigan, I grew up about 2 and hours from Chicago.
@ it's nice that you experienced different areas. I've only ever been in New York except for vacationing, different places here and there. Definitely nice too have a taste of different areas.
Hey. Can you do my request?
Why not put small load and do it in the main basket?
@@Ryan-um8ug oh yes, I prefer the main basket over the mini basket. Since when it does the spray rinse, you don't get it in the mini basket.
Newer machines have built-in lint filters. Reverse action on water pump. Lint is expelled when pump starts emprying.
@@kimberleytui179 keep in mind. This is a better way of not plugging up the drain line in your house. For example, in my house, these machines drain into a stump pump, rather having the lint go into the pump and the possibility of clogs I could just take the lint and put it in the garbage pail.
I'm about to buy a house that has this washer coming with it along with a 70s maytag washer and an old maytag dryer.
@@MassiveGarbage that sounds great I'm sure it still works. Just fine. Test it out.

@@MSPspotter6 thank you let's see what the future holds but I'm kind of out of space so I don't know even if I find something what I could do with it.
I was a second-generation Maytag Dealer that my dad started in the early 1960s. I remember doing the original service training on the TL Neptune, and I was very impressed. Unfortunately, shortly after they came out, Whirlpool Corporation bought Maytag. They killed the Maytag design and went with their TL Calypso design, which was not as good. Parts for the Neptunes are hard to find.
This model didn’t come with the original agitator with that blue line below the fabric softener dispenser.
@@Dog-Lover36 no this is the Agitator that the Washer came with. The large load sensing Agitator not the regular size one.
One thing I love about my 30 year old Miele is that it runs on 220 V and is hooked up to only cold water and heats its own water up to 170 degrees F. I love this system because it allows different stains to come out at their own optimal temperature. For example, if you have a cut on your skin and have a blood stain on white sheets and throw them in hot or warm water, the bloodstain sets immediately and is almost impossible to get out. But when the washer starts with cold water and slowly heats the clothes to very hot, the blood stains come out when the wash is cold and other stains such as body oils come out at the higher temps.
@@Shahrdad wow that's cool, this one has been Americanized. You could pick the temperature hot plus hot warm plus warm and cold. It does have a built-in heater so it could boost the temperature or sanitize.
@@petermaz701 Knowing myself, when my Miele finally dies, I'll probably buy a Little Giant that runs on 220! My childhood washer (an early '60s German Constructa) ran on industrial 3-phase power (almost unheard of in American homes) and could boil the clothes. When you think of three 220 V hot wires, you realize that it ran on 660 total volts! It had two motors, one for washing and one for spinning. The main issue was that sometimes after a power outage, when the power came back on, two of the phases would have been reversed, which caused the spin motor to turn in the wrong direction, which would then lead to water flying out of the soap dispenser. It had a small electric water pump and also a large one that was powered by the spin motor. The small pump drained the tub down to 1/4, but the large pump drained from the bottom. The washer also had two drain hoses, a large and a small one, and it would start spinning with the tub full, and the large pump would rapidly pump everything out. My father had taught my to check the washer after a power outage, and if it would start spinning in the wrong direction, I would immediately switch it off, unplug it, open the large plug, reverse two of the wires, and plug it back in! I think I was 10 or 11 years old. The washer weighed a ton and it took three or four people to move it. I remember the outer tub was made of really thick galvanized steel with the back plate bolted on, and there was a large cast iron weight on top of it. In the back, there was something that looked like a water pitcher with a floater inside (like a toilet tank). The water would first go into the "pitcher" and then go down a tube from 3/4 up the pitcher into the wash tub. There was also another hose with a much smaller hole on the bottom of the "pitcher" that slowly drained it into the tub when rapid water intake wasn't needed. I also remember that it had three pressure switches for three different water levels. I think this washer is exactly like ours: th-cam.com/video/3NBWuKDm_Sc/w-d-xo.html
@@petermaz701 This one shows the inside of our old "Waschmaschine" well. You can see why it was so incredibly heavy. The only difference I see is that the large "spin" water pump in ours was driven by a belt from the spin motor and didn't have it's own electric motor. You can see the "pitcher" and the floater and the three pressure switches too. th-cam.com/video/T_uHOcGIE78/w-d-xo.html
@ wow that's an oldie my God it must be like a tank
@ amazing but thinking that won't behind this
