    Hi Lisa I know this was a year ago but I went through a bad time last year and the year before . My son who is 40 and autistic had a breakdown I was with my other family but it was hard he is ok now but he was bad . I lost a nephew last year and we couldn't go to his funeral . My niece lost her little baby with Sids and couldn't go to help her . My other niece got married she cried because she had postponed it twice I just told her to just get married and it doesn't matter if I wasn't with her . I raised them when my sister Catherine suddenly passed away 19 yrs ago so they're like my children. I have three children two sons and a daughter who is my life line. But I feel so much for the people you help . In Australia the lockdown went for a year and a half it was hard . My daughter and I rescue animals mainly kittens and older cats ,6 this week. I have 18 rescue babies all ages some with special needs but my whole family help out . My hubby and my daughters friend are the drivers and the vets are friends . I wish I could help out . I make things for stalls to earn money for animal rescue . Lisa you are a darling as well as a great crafter . As I said this is coming 12 months to late but thankyou sweetheart for your video it helps even now me in NSW Australia . God bless Karen and family.💖💐🌄🥰🐨🇭🇲

      Warm wishes from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Karen. I am so sorry to hear of all the terrible things that have been happening to your family. So many people have experienced so much tragedy over the past 2yrs. I’m sorry to hear about your son. My eldest son is Autistic (he’s in his 30s now) & he experienced something similar in his teenage yrs which seriously impacted on his mental health. It’s a daily struggle for anyone who is on the spectrum and/or has mental health issues. Very sad to hear about the loss of your niece’s baby. I can’t imagine the heartache you’re all going through. Like many others, I wanted to do something to help during lockdown. Getting involved with Hearts for Crosshouse was a wonderful thing & I’m in awe of all the wonderful volunteers who got involved. We distributed thousands and thousands of hearts, masks extenders and latterly Twiddle sleeves for dementia patients. I can see that you are a kind person with a good heart who also wants to help others. My goodness if you were here my youngest would be all over those kittens! He is animal crazy! It’s lovely that you make handcrafted items to raise money for animal charities. In my job I work with many volunteers & I gift most of the items I make to them if they are unwell or need a pick me up. Are you on TikTok? I post lots of videos there of my projects. Don’t get as much time these days to upload videos to my You Tube channel. Take care Karen & don’t forget to be kind to yourself too! Stay safe ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌻

    Does all the .625 binding wires work with the Mini Cinch as well as the regular size cinch, meaning are they usable for both machines, the same .625 wires?

    • @lisaowen2930
      @lisaowen2930 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Julie, I’m so sorry for the delay in replying. All of the cinch wires will work on the big Cinch but only the smaller ones work on the mini Cinch. I only use genuine we r memory keepers Cinch wires but a European craft firm called Craftelier also sells wires that fit. I think you need to be careful about buying non branded wires because it’s not just the wire width that’s important, I believe the distance between each of the wire sections can vary across brands & they may not line up with the punched holes

    I am new to sewing by hand and would love to create a version of this for myself. How do you attach the pom poms and make the garland in general? Is there special thread??

    • @lisaowen2930
      @lisaowen2930 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Desiree, I’m so glad you are going to make a Garland for yourself. It was lovely to make this and I ended up making another 2 for gifts. I’m certain I just used wool to string it together. But I think I opted for wool that was made from cotton and it was double stringed to make it stronger.

    • @xodezi
      @xodezi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lisaowen2930 when you say wool, is that yarn or some other kind of thread? And should I use like a long doll making needle?? Thanks so much for returning my comment :)

    • @lisaowen2930
      @lisaowen2930 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xodezi sorry, I was talking Scottish! 😂 Yes it would be cotton yarn doubled over. Acrylic yarn would probably break too easily. You will need a longer needle to be able to get through the hearts and pom poms

      @@lisaowen2930 hahahaha! I love your Scottish speak :) would you be willing to do a tutorial soon so we could see one start to finish?? I am going to try to do one on my own, but a visual reference would be fabulous.

      @lisaowen2930 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xodezi hi Desiree, A few people have said that about my accent and it makes me laugh as my husband sometimes can’t bear the sound of my voice 😂. I don’t think I’ll have time to do a tutorial as I never seen to get any time to myself these days. I would really love to do more crafting videos. If I get time I’ll come on here and let you know. You need to make the hearts first (you’ll find a heart tutorial on my channel). Then make your pom poms. Lay everything out on a flat surface and space the hearts and pom poms out. Thread the yarn through the back of the hearts near the top and through the centre of the pom poms. Leave a little gap of a few centimetres (or more if you wish) where you want your rags to go. The strips of rags should be roughly about 5 inches by 1.5 inches. Then just tie the rags on in groups of about 5 or 7 depending on the space. When tying the rags I don’t double knot them as they sit better with just a single knot. Do a practice first.
