My first video watched in 2020☺️ Absolutely stunning garland Lisa, love the colours, textures and decorations, it’s just beautiful 🥰
I very much appreciated your careful filming and lack of jostling since I celebrated Hogmanay singing karaoke with my daughter till 5am😂
Your shoe ornaments are lovely, are they one of your creations? Looking forward to seeing much more of your work in 2020 😘🤗 X

Caroline Mckeeman thanks Caroline and a happy new year to you! Am loving how you spent your Hogmanay. We were child free as my wee boy was staying at his aunts. The shoe ornaments are from Disney. They are themed to all the princesses and characters such as Snow White, Alice in wonderland etc. You can’t buy them here anymore unfortunately as they’re only available at the parks. So my collection came to an abrupt end lol. But if you ever go to Disneyland I’ll give you some $$$ and a list! X

I am new to sewing by hand and would love to create a version of this for myself. How do you attach the pom poms and make the garland in general? Is there special thread??

Hi Desiree, I’m so glad you are going to make a Garland for yourself. It was lovely to make this and I ended up making another 2 for gifts. I’m certain I just used wool to string it together. But I think I opted for wool that was made from cotton and it was double stringed to make it stronger.

@@lisaowen2930 when you say wool, is that yarn or some other kind of thread? And should I use like a long doll making needle?? Thanks so much for returning my comment :)

@@xodezi sorry, I was talking Scottish! 😂 Yes it would be cotton yarn doubled over. Acrylic yarn would probably break too easily. You will need a longer needle to be able to get through the hearts and pom poms

@@lisaowen2930 hahahaha! I love your Scottish speak :) would you be willing to do a tutorial soon so we could see one start to finish?? I am going to try to do one on my own, but a visual reference would be fabulous.

@@xodezi hi Desiree, A few people have said that about my accent and it makes me laugh as my husband sometimes can’t bear the sound of my voice 😂. I don’t think I’ll have time to do a tutorial as I never seen to get any time to myself these days. I would really love to do more crafting videos. If I get time I’ll come on here and let you know. You need to make the hearts first (you’ll find a heart tutorial on my channel). Then make your pom poms. Lay everything out on a flat surface and space the hearts and pom poms out. Thread the yarn through the back of the hearts near the top and through the centre of the pom poms. Leave a little gap of a few centimetres (or more if you wish) where you want your rags to go. The strips of rags should be roughly about 5 inches by 1.5 inches. Then just tie the rags on in groups of about 5 or 7 depending on the space. When tying the rags I don’t double knot them as they sit better with just a single knot. Do a practice first.
