I have a question, I was underage and in a mental institution. I was originally denied my foid for this reason, however after a mental evaluation from a licensed psychologist, I was able to get my foid. Now that I’m going to be applying for my ccl and taking classes, am I going to be denied? Or have to jump through a bunch of hoops and surrender my foid and guns?

I just put it in my trunk, my car has a secret button that keeps trunk locked no matter if you try to open it with the key or the trunk button in the car. One time i forget I put it on and I thought my trunk was broken😂

Im having this exact issue and im sure its not me holding the slide lock. if inserting the empty magazine pushes the slide lock up that means its the magazine causing the issue? shouldn't the slide lock be pushed up with an empty magazine to catch the slide?

I asked a gunsmith if I could do what you did and he said not to do it because the police don't like it when people do that. I was bewildered and confused when he told me that.

The whole downtown of Chicago has it illegal to even pull into a parking deck. You can not park in a deck in Chicago.

There is no real way to secure a firearm in a vehicle to prevent it from being stolen. Locked glove boxes and center consoles can be popped open with a simple screwdriver or some really strong individuals can simply pry them open with their bare hands. Car trunks can be easily accessed by pulling off the rear seat back rest. From the way it looks that gun safe that you have can be easily stolen by just cutting that small gauge cable it's attached to. The way I see it if thieves can quickly cut off and steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle in public areas in broad daylight then cutting loose a gun safe should be no problem for them also. Thieves can also just simply steal the vehicle and the firearm in the safe discovered later on becomes an added extra bonus. We should never be placed in a situation where we ever have to leave a firearm unattended in a vehicle in the first place.

My card was revoked due to a misdemeanor marijuana charge in Dec 2019 (month before it was legalized Jan 2020) I transferred the guns and all that but couldn’t get further process because it was the government shutdown at that time. Now back trying to fix this with the new laws . It looks like the State “addicted to narcotics charge” will be erased, but other books say anything before June 25 2019 and after Jan 2020 will be expunged after a year… (soo no clue about that middle 6months I’m included in) either way if I have expunged, the state wouldn’t see . But federally expungements are still visible. Any idea of a direction of a site or organization to go to, other than the amazing advice you’ve already given with your channels? Just want to get protection for my growing family in this crazy world but can’t pay 4grand for a lawyer😅 Sorry for the long message but Thank you for your content as always 🙏

Question what occurs when you purchase a firearm and all goes fine and approved at time of sale with valid FOID card, DL and completed electronic 4473 form and upon return after 72 hour wait the same electronic 4473 form is re reviewed and confirmed and the ISP flags, denies etc the transaction? This has recently occurred to me and I had to cancel the transaction. The store told me to contact the ISP which next to impossible to get a person to answer. Any thoughts of why the ISP would not provide release even though transaction completed with no issues at time of sale?

After, being under indictment for 3 years I finally have my foid card back. However, the local PD is objecting my CCL even after passing all ISP-required background checks. I'm worried how could this be my FOID CARD is active?

I don’t think it’s a trap to go in now and register and here’s why. On about December 2nd-ish I emailed ISP to ask questions about what needs to be registered. They didn’t reply until 2nd week of January. And in that reply it said they’re so backed up with questions and uncertainty that they’re giving a grace period bc they weren’t able to answer everyone on time. However, I don’t see why anyone who chose not to register would now want to register so that aspect is kind of moot.

I was denied for my CCL 2 year ago for a domestic violence that I was arrested for but not convicted. I didn’t file my appeal within the 35 days , so I had to get my account reset and reapply for CCL 01/10/2024 which I also had to pay the 150 fee again . So what’s next

Of course its a trap. If you failed to register by 12-31-23 then I would not advise it now. With as publicized as this was and having 90 days to register you really have no good excuse. Well aside from the fact that the registration is a 5th ammendment violation. Oh and the law itself is a violation of the second ammendment. Oh wait they also violated our three reading illinois constitutional right as well as the 14th ammendment as retired and active police can still purchase, maintain, and accessorize the banned firearms.

I think it's a trap. As we saw; the State's attitude on this subject is unreasonable, as evidenced by their insistence that banned items which were purchased during the weeklong injunction were purchased unlawfully after PICA went into effect, so they are not eligible for retention via a registration affidavit. This makes me think that Illinois will convert post-deadline affadavits into warrants.
