- Time to register your banned firearm ? Well not quite yet. In this video we discuss where the Illinois State Police are in getting the registration up and running. According to the law it was to be ready October 1st, but that is not going to happen.

I've got my moving truck half loaded. Moving to a bright red Constitutional Carry state. I got the last truck out. The realtor there said the state I'm moving to. That they're running out of housing inventory from out of state newcomers. She's working with 7 others moving from other states. I started looking for a truck in May, I was quoted over $3,000! Kept calling got a truck with my veteran ID for $920 two weeks ago! Sold my home quickly at a loss of equity. But it pays off my VA loan and put $20,000 in my pocket. No more waiting period, they passed a law no red flag laws and open or concealed carry no permit needed. They do have a no tolerance drinking law, .02 will get you a DUI. I don't drink anymore anyway. Good luck fellow Illinoians.

There are several problems with this "law". The 2nd amendment comes to mind first for many. But do not forget 4th and 5th amendment rights as well. If the 7th circuit Court of appeals doesn't fix this, and very soon, it could get quite noisy here in what used to be the land of Lincoln.

All unconstitutional gun control laws and enforcement of said laws (background checks,bans, licenses, permits,gun free zones,red flag laws, registration)are all crimes in violation of these laws. They are all null and void not legally binding enforceable laws.
Lets hope that the U.S. Supreme Court uses these passages and I'm guessing it is why the Illinois Supreme Court has not ruled on the constitutionality of this law. They don't want to be slapped down by the upper court.

Many will not comply. As a veteran I swore an oath of enlistment to uphold the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Guess what there was no abolishing of the 2nd 5th or 14th ammendments, and this law is a direct violation of those three federal ammendments. To top that ill-annoyed constitution requires three reading allowing us citizens to speak our minds prior to passing a law and we never got that opportunity. So compliance to this law is not wise as you're waving constitutional rights. Plus the fact that so many sheriff departments are not enforcing and the ISP is the enforcing agency its unlikely they will knock on doors.

So if law enforcement or anyone else doesn't have to register then no other American citizens have to register either.

My S&W SD9VE which holds 16 and the other I ordered from a out of state gun store I found on Davidsons Galery Of Guns and I happen to find out months latter that I shouldn't have been able to both order and the FFL shouldn't have tranfered due to it being a ZAMAK zinc cast Walther PPK/S .22 LR with a threaded barrel. Illinois has had a melting point law since the 1968 GCA. From what I can tell it's not illegal to own it in Illinois but it was Illegal to be sold by the gun store and tranfered by the local FFL. I'm trully suprisd it was allowed through but maybe Walther didn't correctly label the build materal at first IDK.

In one of the articles I mentioned they actually stated a low compliance is expected. I expect the same. I also how this makes it to the supreme court of the U.S. and is a decision that will stop all this back door infringement.
Rifles are now legal for deer hunting in Illinois if the cartridge has no shoulders. There is a list of acceptable rifles cartridges on the DNR website. 50 Beowulf is now legal as a deer round. There are some other limitations like having a single shot I believe. I don't know enough as I don't eat deer, so I am not about to kill one. Cheers.

During pandemic I stocked up on magazines for guns I don’t even own thinking I’d buy one of those when prices fell. Never bought and now I have mags only. So confused on what I need to do

The registration requirement violates the constitution as decided in Leary v. United States. If you don't have a FOID card, can't get a FOID card, you can not register without self incrimination. Let's face it, Illinois has some dumb reasons why they won't give persons FOID cards when they are otherwise eligible in other states to own and posses firearms. Example, a person under 21 years of age who does not have the written consent of his parent or guardian to acquire and possess firearms and firearm ammunition, or whose parent or guardian does not qualify to have a Firearm Owner's Identification Card.

There is actually a case right now regarding the denial of a FOID card without being given a reason. It is unfortunate that our courts are bought and paid for by rich liberals. The courts have already stated the FOID is unconstitutional but did nothing.
