I tend to agree with you. I'm hoping that the U.S. Supreme Court will slam the door shut on back door restrictions on the second amendment but we will see. Some of the Justices, that we should be able to rely on, are unreliable.
Illinois Sheriffs will in the end have to uphold the Illinois Statute as law. They may not choose to enforce it, but the form response letter that all the Sheriffs submitted upon the Governor's signing of the law articulates that the county's resources will not be used to violate the consent of the governed. Those are honorable responses from Sheriffs as they are the only segment of government left to account directly to the constituent. What will be more interesting will be when the brown shirts begin their quest to retrieve that which they deem illegal. Should they find reprisal, they may just find it in their best interests to stand down and pick another quest for dominance, or tip their hands and employ the reserviced and National Guard. If they choose those means, people will finally understand that Governmental Corporations are just as too big to fail as the commerce corporations they have their assets invested in, and that people and families are the only disposable segment in this system. This isn't a shakedown anymore like we are familiar with here in Illinois. This has become the ultimatum.
