Those with power stations or small generators need to get electric blankets. Even a small solar power station can power an electric blanket on a lower setting for at least 4 to 6 hours if other blankets are used to hold in the heat. Many people in Texas froze to death during the winter emergency before help could arrive. There are also heated vests. Also, even if a person who has no wood heater or fireplace can store a cord of firewood and burn it outside to stay warm if something happens if they have a plan to do it safely. People were burning chairs and tables in Texas.
If you have a larger battery system a 200w Lasko mini heater can be used inside a small tent set up inside your home. Put the power station near the heater to warm the battery (to avoid damaging by charging cold lithium cells) and run your solar panel charging cable into the tent to keep the battery topped off. As long as MORE watts go in than out it won`t drain the battery. Try to get a MAX charge rate if using a large power station. You need to plan ahead for these situations.

All excellent ideas and suggestions. The electric blanket is an amazing suggestion. I agree with you about heated vests and you can get socks and boots that are battery operated. I remember several Boy Scout winter camp outs that we kept a fire going all night that produced enough heat to radiate to the tents. Wearing a winter hat also helped stay warm. I can always count on you to make the best and most helpful comments. Stay safe and warm my friend!!

Last December after moving into my camper a sudden freeze with high winds hit Louisiana....zero degrees, below zero wind chill, 40-50 mph winds. Power kept going out. I ran my electric blanket two nights on medium from a Bluetti EB70. We had a tornado a mile away the night before. Killed my winter garden when it got so cold for a week below freezing. We had 5 power outages this summer during extreme heat emergencies but I had air conditioning using a 300ah Ampere Time battery and solar. Feels like weather attacks here. So many bad storms. Another tornado very close recently. @@PrepU1776

I’ve got a couple of electric blankets just for that reason! I’ve found some really nice blankets /comforters at Saver’s and Goodwill, like new for like under $15.
