My esee 3 came to me 4 years ago as a trade. Best trade I have ever made. The knife is awesome.
Ok what is it
Mine looks just like this one with no branding in the handle.. Gone me looking at it sideways lol.. I was wondering if you new why some have it some don’t?
If you put the sheath bolts 1 hole up towards the handle that should fix that weak retention, did the same on the srk-c and can wear it upside down all day, not coming out
Please never add a choil to the Junglas. It’s perfect as-is.
Just bought one as a gift for a friend. Handling it, I think I might get one for myself. Also, this is what the Condor Bushlore used to be. Now those are close to $60
Y no XL tho
Stick 'em with the pointy end. -- Ned Stark
You should always hold them up to a ruler for the handle, The cutting edge from the tip and the tip to the handle because cops measure it to the handle for jurisdictions that have length laws.
This exactly knife is currently $36 at MidwayUSA. Comes in the GSM clam shell packaging. Midway has $15 off $100 right now. 3 of these for under a hundo….and we know why based on your unit 👍👍
One word Pragmatic
It's very simple but effective.
Seems you would be more satisfied to design your own. I enjoy mine as it comes from the factory.
I agree on the choil. Especially for the tactical version with the sharpened swedge. If you're gonna use it for self defense/fighting you're gonna need as much edge as you can get
The SRK is hard to beat.
Great job brother.
This knife is like the shrade. The knife is made for hard work. Alot cheaper then a old shrade. The old shrades had a issue with the tips braking alot. You may notice 2nd hand knifes in shrade missing there tips on the blade. So as steel will go time will only tell. I have just brought a cold steel. Should sharpen well. I'm older hunter and collector. Cold steel has always had a good reputation. I have small flippers.so this knife is built well. As for holders of pocket knifes you must remember it is to be on your person first.. Yes it will be loose if the knife and holster is not fitted on you. It's designed to be on your hip..person..young people make me laugh. So it's a great knife I think for a bad time.and hi cost..in the world..think it will turn out a collector's peace as well
After I got my first one, I had to get a second one. The knife is just Awesome. A survival knife, a fighting knife, a kitchen knife . Whatever you want it to be it is. The EDC that’s just Badass. Great video, we all got opinions this is just mine. Love this knife…
I have the very same Flissa knife and it is awesome.
Have both. Manix 2 for me
I own 2 of these. I have a thumb stud on the one I carry. It can be opened and closed one handed, but it takes some practice. Taking it apart and polishing the washers with a high grit sandpaper helps make it easier etc.
Smart!
Tips are weak
If you stab it into wood like bent it back and forth like an idiot. Thats part of using high carbon steel. It’s not made to be used as a prying bar. Thats why crowbars used medium carbon steel
i agree on the texts, it detracts from the beauty of the knife.
Agreed. Otherwise quite a good looking knife
Great review, thank you! Any tips you have for maintaining it?
not quite perfect, i had to stop it when i got it out of the box. but then, i strop most knives out of the box.
If they kept the price as low, that would sale.
So what exactly do you want to prove with that hysterical opening and closing of your knives? You gangster? You not to be fugged with? You gangster? You roff and tuff? Looking at your soft hands without any signs what so ever of any hard field work, and the knives not having had any hard use....I'd say you are a laughable poser.
this reminds me of my lengren rhino. nice review
Is the tang skeletonized at all?
It’s not skeletonized but it’s not a true full tang. There are some disassembly vids I’d recommend you checking out
@MattRoseKnives thanx for the reply. I've had that lionsteel on my radar for a bit. Haven't picked one up yet.
Here is the problem with that. What does it matter whether you remove the 1/8 or 1/16 of an inchvof blade and make it a sharpening choil or keep it there and simply leave it unsharpened? Either way you have an 1/8 or 1/16 or so inch less useable blade length.
It’s Boooowie…not a rock star,..I have this knife among many other Booooowie knives
The alternative to XL folder is not a 4" folder, but a fixed knife of similar size.
I am 5 minutes in and so far I have only heard things you like, and nothing about what I need to know before buying an Izula. 🤔 So basically this video is showing product information you can also find in the product information. 🤔
I’m confused, wasn’t the video about the Izula knife??? You expel one breath on the Izula and then switch to another knife visually and verbally.
I actually like the Outdoorsman best out of all of these, from what I see in the video. I just really really love the sleek, appealing shape.
Dear mister Matt Rose, I love your review, but would like to ask... where did you buy this SRK-version, orange and stainless? I just can't find it anywhere, not even on the Cold Steel website! ! ! Is it a... chinese-clone??
Midway USA Exclusive
Have this and the m7 their my two favorite knives
Very weak tang, I don't understand what are they saving.
The a is silent in Kinzua.
Homie be thankful it’s not a Fallkniven lol. My A1 is thicker and heavier lol
I have only just found one recently. I will be getting one for sure, beautiful knife.
I live in canada and the sheath issue considering the cost is a big pet peeve of mine, a U.S. $200 dollar knife in Canada would be around $350-$450 unless its on sale then we pay closer to U.S. price. I just bought the Recon tanto in san mai and sk5 and im thinking I'll be making horizontal carry leather sheaths for them, they have a cheap nylon with a snap closure to hold the knife but i can tell it'll only be a matter of time before the sheath alone won't hold the blades and i dislike nylon. I ordered the warcraft xl tanto in san mai also but received the 4034ss model, amazon is sending me the san mai when its back in stock and letting me keep the 4034ss for the mix up and wait, so now i will have two 12" blades to make sheaths for also lol. For the cost I'd love to see something better.
What was the book you published?
I just bought an SRK. Is there a way to mount this to molle webbing??
I purchased mine when I was 19 and use it all the time, one of the few things I still own from my younger days I’m 48 now and last year a purchased one for my sons 18th birthday. I hope it lasts him as long as mine has lasted for me. Best knife ever
At least they aren’t as bad as Tops sheaths , there embarrassing.
Everyone is comparing expensive knives to a $35-$47 knife depending on where you buy it. $47 too much, you can buy S35VN version for that price range. A lanyard will enhance the length issue.
Everyone: “Finger choil?” Esee: “NO!” Everyone: “Why?” Esee: “Because, you’ll buy it anyway”
I own a 119 and although I have rarely used it since I don't get outdoors much anymore, it is a fully serviceable knife for hunting and outdoors tasks. The phenolic handle sucks but it can be wrapped with rubber to improve the grip. Otherwise, the 119 is a fine knife for old school guys like me.
Yes sir you are absolutely correct I have cold steel knives , I bought the outdoorsman when it first came out in Canada beautiful knife but absolutely garbage sheath ( leather )...not just coldsteel that is lacking in knife sheath design tho. I have a few other knives from very reputable knife makers and their sheaths aren't any better. Glad I came across your video👍
