If you put the sheath bolts 1 hole up towards the handle that should fix that weak retention, did the same on the srk-c and can wear it upside down all day, not coming out

You should always hold them up to a ruler for the handle, The cutting edge from the tip and the tip to the handle because cops measure it to the handle for jurisdictions that have length laws.

This exactly knife is currently $36 at MidwayUSA. Comes in the GSM clam shell packaging. Midway has $15 off $100 right now. 3 of these for under a hundo….and we know why based on your unit 👍👍

I agree on the choil. Especially for the tactical version with the sharpened swedge. If you're gonna use it for self defense/fighting you're gonna need as much edge as you can get

This knife is like the shrade. The knife is made for hard work. Alot cheaper then a old shrade. The old shrades had a issue with the tips braking alot. You may notice 2nd hand knifes in shrade missing there tips on the blade. So as steel will go time will only tell. I have just brought a cold steel. Should sharpen well. I'm older hunter and collector. Cold steel has always had a good reputation. I have small flippers.so this knife is built well. As for holders of pocket knifes you must remember it is to be on your person first.. Yes it will be loose if the knife and holster is not fitted on you. It's designed to be on your hip..person..young people make me laugh. So it's a great knife I think for a bad time.and hi cost..in the world..think it will turn out a collector's peace as well

I own 2 of these. I have a thumb stud on the one I carry. It can be opened and closed one handed, but it takes some practice. Taking it apart and polishing the washers with a high grit sandpaper helps make it easier etc.

If you stab it into wood like bent it back and forth like an idiot. Thats part of using high carbon steel. It’s not made to be used as a prying bar. Thats why crowbars used medium carbon steel

So what exactly do you want to prove with that hysterical opening and closing of your knives? You gangster? You not to be fugged with? You gangster? You roff and tuff? Looking at your soft hands without any signs what so ever of any hard field work, and the knives not having had any hard use....I'd say you are a laughable poser.

Here is the problem with that. What does it matter whether you remove the 1/8 or 1/16 of an inchvof blade and make it a sharpening choil or keep it there and simply leave it unsharpened? Either way you have an 1/8 or 1/16 or so inch less useable blade length.

I live in canada and the sheath issue considering the cost is a big pet peeve of mine, a U.S. $200 dollar knife in Canada would be around $350-$450 unless its on sale then we pay closer to U.S. price. I just bought the Recon tanto in san mai and sk5 and im thinking I'll be making horizontal carry leather sheaths for them, they have a cheap nylon with a snap closure to hold the knife but i can tell it'll only be a matter of time before the sheath alone won't hold the blades and i dislike nylon. I ordered the warcraft xl tanto in san mai also but received the 4034ss model, amazon is sending me the san mai when its back in stock and letting me keep the 4034ss for the mix up and wait, so now i will have two 12" blades to make sheaths for also lol. For the cost I'd love to see something better.

Everyone is comparing expensive knives to a $35-$47 knife depending on where you buy it. $47 too much, you can buy S35VN version for that price range. A lanyard will enhance the length issue.

I own a 119 and although I have rarely used it since I don't get outdoors much anymore, it is a fully serviceable knife for hunting and outdoors tasks. The phenolic handle sucks but it can be wrapped with rubber to improve the grip. Otherwise, the 119 is a fine knife for old school guys like me.

Yes sir you are absolutely correct I have cold steel knives , I bought the outdoorsman when it first came out in Canada beautiful knife but absolutely garbage sheath ( leather )...not just coldsteel that is lacking in knife sheath design tho. I have a few other knives from very reputable knife makers and their sheaths aren't any better. Glad I came across your video👍
