    I see I'm not as far behind as I thought I was. I have not been watching much TH-cam lately and lost track of my podcasters! Your sweater is lovely. I made the Zweig and am very happy with it, so I recommend it as a next Caitlin Hunter project. I like how you solved your rolling cowl problem by adding a second side to it; good thinking outside the box. Thanks for the shout out. I work my socks with an 8-inch cuff; I used to wear knee highs back in school all the time, so I like a longer cuff. As for the twisting of the socks in the shoes, I wish I knew the answer to that one...for me it only happens with my right foot...what the heck? lol. I'm looking forward to hearing about the MKAL.

    Your Alpine Bloom looks great! I also had shoulder pain from using a drop spindle. I have a few e-spinners now, which I love! I have a Nano and also the Electric Eel Wheel 6.0. Maurice is great at designing good products and he listens to his customers.

      Thank you! I am going to snoop around and look at the Nano/Electric Eel. The drop spindle is a great way to get started and I have learned a lot but if I want to do spinning in large quantities I need to move forward. My shoulders will also thank me!

    Your Alpine Bloom looks gorgeous! I love the contrast yarn, it's so pretty and has so much depth. I have never used the FX sock yarn, but now I really want to 😅. I can't wait to see your knit picks shawl. I really love how the purple and green compliment each other in that pattern. The stroll tonal colors are beautiful, they really hit it out of the park with that yarn. Thank you so much for the shout out 🙂. I hope you have an amazing week!

    Hello from Germany, lovely episode, it feels like I was there with you. I tried drop spindle spinning, found it was not for me and bought a spinning wheel, which was perfect. And yes. You can spin the yarn and knit the sweater in a few months. It is so good to see you looking forward to the MKAL (not my cup, but you do you) and all excited about the new connections you made. Shampoo bars are the best and don't make more plastic discarded bottles. It was a lot of fun having my daughter with me and she was able to get photos and videos when I was too busy looking at yarn. Enjoy the rest of your summer! It is going by so fast.

    What an awesome fiber festival! I love the Myofibrille Tee, I would love to knit one too. I’ve been to Montreal last year and missed Knit City by a few days because I did not realize when it was taking place. I met a virtual knitting friend from the lockdown this June when I visited her state. It was nice to meet in person and interact. Although we didn’t go anywhere, it was awesome all the same. Thank you for sharing. Happy knitting!❤

    I have been to Twist the last 2 years, and have enjoyed it, but find it to be somewhat overwhelming, so I didn't go this year. I do plan to attend the Almonte Fibrefest on Sept. 7th. Hopefully we'll be able to meet each other.

    Hey there! Just finished watching your podcast about the visit you made to Twist with your daughter on Sunday last. I visited that same festival on Friday and Saturday and let me tell you, you chose the best day! I live in Laval, Québec and the trip takes me about 90 minutes. During the storms we had on Friday, you really had to be motivated to drive with all that water raining down! On Saturday it was much better and I did get to see again the sheep herding demo during the afternoon. I skipped Twist last year because....Covid (which caught me on my way back from the Makers Meet in Chicago!) but I had been there in 2022 and it was grand. You were right in mentionning that most of the crafters in the tent are new to the festival with two major exceptions: Madame Tricote, which you visited and from where you bought your hand cream (Karine, the lovely owner) has a van/boutique which you've probably visited and it would be sort of complicated to get it into the arena floor and BigBlueMoma, which requires a lot of floor area. On Friday, the rain was soooo bad that they actually got some of their baskets wet when the water got into the tent. Thank you so very much for making relive my visits with you images. Funny how we noticed the some of the same things. I got my soaps from the same place you got your shampoo bars, I almost bought yarn from the vendor showing the Butterfly shawl but thought it was a bit steep for me (Guess I should have gone back on Sunday, eh?) Looove the Scrumptiouspurl balls and got to squeeze a few (but since I had already bought two at KCM in 2022, I passed my turn this time). I stopped over at the Bar à Tricot/Artfil booth and said Hi! to Patricia and Precillia and got to show them the Sheep Camp Tee I was making with their Chalet base (Thanks to Kelly for the inspiration!) I was looking at your Rock it tee and I thought it was great ! I made one myself using the Champagne base so great minds, eh? I was also looking at the shawl you're wearing in your podcast and thought it looked great...and familiar. It had a Botanic vibe to it and when I consulted your Ravelry project page...what do you know? So, that's enough from me for now. My Daybreak Tee is not going to finish itself by itself! Thanx again for the time and efforts to publish this podcast...it was much appreciated. Your fellow tricopine, Isabelle (yeah, that Isabelle!) PS: Hope you don't mind...I "friended" you on Ravelry without asking first.

    • @mywonderfulknittinglife
      @mywonderfulknittinglife หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am delighted that you friended me on Ravelry. I need to spend some time getting more projects listed. I have so many that are not there. I heard about the rain and the baskets. Heartbreaking. The vendors spend so much time preparing and to see damage...ugh. I love Twist and in 2022 and 2023 went on the Friday. My friends and I figured it would be quieter but now I'm all for Sunday. There is no need to rush to 'get the yarn before it sells out' and with it being less busy I really got the chance to enjoy talking to more people. I even saw some vendors sitting on the floors of their stall in the last hour. I can't imagine how tired they must have been. I am looking forward to the Almonte Fibrefest. I have not been to it before and it will be nice to have another festival to compare the other one to. I'm so glad that I have more time to enjoy these events. Now I just need to get knitting some of this wonderful yarn! Best wishes and hopefully we will run into each other next year!

    What a lovely recap of the festival! Having your personal film crew along must have been so helpful, enabling you to have both hands on the fabulous yarn and sheepy goodness and not needing to juggle a camera too. Making a guest appearance here was fun for me - it was great to meet you in person. Your daughter's cute progress keeper with your podcast logo has been put to work on a shawl project already, indicating the right side. I made socks with Urth yarn not long ago and made a little note on my Ravelry page about something I just happened to think of doing - you might find this helpful too. The colours change in a very subtle way, unlike self-striping yarn that has abrupt changes from one colour to another. It isn't quite so easy to start each sock in the same place, even though there are two cakes to help with matching two socks. I found it helpful to pull out a long length of yarn from both cakes of yarn to try and better match up the colouring, then I put a slip knot in the same place on each to indicate where to start the cast-on.

    • @mywonderfulknittinglife
      @mywonderfulknittinglife หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a fantastic idea of making the slip knot first on both balls of yarn. I will definitely do that when I start my twin socks. I'm glad you didn't mind being added to this episode. It was such a fun day and hopefully there will be another day in the future when we can get together again. So glad that you are putting the progress keeper to good use! Best wishes!
