Margaret!! How did I not know you had a podcast?! 🙈 I so enjoyed catching up with you and loved seeing your gorgeous start to your Albertine 😍 I have had Sidsel's patterns on my to-make list for years now so it's lovely to live vicariously through you 🤗 I meant to work on my Cotswold Henley, but found myself perusing Sidsel's yarn kits 😂 I love second-hand shops as you never know what fun treasures you'll find. Can't wait to see your Hinterland-style dress when you get around to sewing it. Big congrats on reaching 1000 subscribers 🥳🎉 Again, I'm sooo terribly sorry for the loss of your dear Pippa and hope your days are becoming a bit easier with time ❤️
I am so glad that you enjoyed it and that you have finally found me. lol. Thank you for your condolences. It is slowly getting a bit easier to go on without Pippa. I highly recommend Sidsel's yarn kits. They are very well put together and her projects are so fun and beautiful. I've learned a lot from her. My family always calls second hand stores, treasure hunting. You never know what you might find!
Hi from Newfoundland ! I just discovered your podcast( heard a recommendation from Knitting with Cat Hair) I like doing colowork as well so hoping to catch up on your videos. I am currently knitting Arne and Carlos advent knit mini sweaters for my adult son Good luck podcasting!
Margaret, I'm so sorry for your recent loss. I enjoyed your episode and particularly your discussion of Sidsel Hoivik's designs which I find so beautiful.
Reaching 1,000 subscribers is well-deserved; congratulations, Margaret. I'm so glad you included some photos of your dear Pippa. I have been engrossed with my mystery blanket from Debbie Abrahams, but there are five or six squares to knit each month and sometimes that is hard to do. I have so many projects I'd like to cast on, but I am going to Rhinebeck shortly so I plan to cast on a Fjolla sweater by Isabell Kraemer as that will make for easy car knitting. I'm using a new Irish yarn called Eriu, 100% wool from family-run Irish farms.
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved dog and the injuries that you suffered. Sending healing thoughts your way. Congratulations on reaching 1000 subscribers!! I've been working on several pairs of socks and just cast on the Coffee Break sweater a few days ago. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

Thank you. It has not been an easy time but I am trying to move forward with new projects. More news on this in my next episode. There might be another fur baby coming soon.
So sorry that you experienced such a tragic event. I hope that with time you feel much better. It must not have been easy to share your sad story with all of us, so know that positive thoughts are being sent your way.
I’m currently working on a Farmhouse Cardigan- just found your podcast and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to watching your progress on the Albertine jacket.
I am so sorry for your loss that's a real heartbreak to lose your lovely doggy. This is the first time I stumbled on your podcast. I wish you the best.
Hello Margaret this is my first time seeing your channel. Sophie from Cozy Meadow Knits mentioned your beautiful jackets and I wanted to see them. I’m so very sorry to hear about you losing your dog and I hope your hand heals well. I am a brand new knitter and just finished my first project which was wrist warmers. I’m. happy with the way they turned out. I will be starting a winter hat soon. I look forward to seeing more of you channel.
Hi! I will have to thank Sophie for mentioning me. That was very sweet of her. My hand is slowly getting better and knitting has become my physiotherapy. Congratulations on your first project! Once you start knitting it is very easy to get hooked!
Congratulations on 1000 subs, Just found you via Cozy Meadow knits. I am working on then2023 MKAL Geogradient shawl. and the Flux Shawl from truly Myrtle. I love that simplicity pattern 8871, and 1586 just bought two simplicity patterns 2247 and and 1586. Sorry to hear about your accident and the loss of your darling dog. Love your shawl. I am learning to crochet after being a knitter for nearly 60 years.
You are busy with all of your projects and some great ones too! I am going to keep my eye out for more simplicity patterns. I love them and when I find them at the thrift store they are even better! Thank you for your condolences. Happy knitting!
I am so sorry to hear about your dog!!!! /*hugs/* 😥I hope your hand heals with no ill effects. The colors in your Virus shawl are lovely; a friend of mine made a couple of those back when the pattern was popular. Congratulations on reaching 1000 subs!! 🎉 I look forward to seeing your daughter's project come along. Take care of yourself.
Thank you Joy. It is a huge adjustment without Pippa around. I am able to knit a bit more which helps. I will definitely update my daughter's progress on the podcast. She is hoping to finish her sweater by Christmas.
Awe, I'm so sorry about Pippa. She was so beautiful. She was identical to my grandmother's Molly, who also also quite a personality. I hope your hand heals quickly and you can get back to your knitting continental style. Right now, what am I not knitting. Lol. I have way too many WIPs. My favorite things at the moment are some KROY vanilla socks (my second pair ever. I just finished my first pair for my husband. Now these are for me.) The other favorite is some Tassels in the Sky shawls. I'm on my 4th one and they are my car ride and waiting in waiting room knitting. I'm planning on making one more colour, and then I'm going to use the 5 different colours and make knd that's a gradient. They are such a fun, mindless, and relaxing knit. And the combination of merino slub and silk mohair are such a tactile pleasure. Once the shawls are complete, I plan to make a simple sweater from the same yarn combination. I love doing colourwork too though, so I think I will look into the one your daughter is making and also see what else the designer has. I love beads and sequined in my knitting too.
Beads and sequins are so much fun! I have not made the Tassels in the sky shawl but I have the yarn ready for it! Kroy sock yarn is great. I have used it quite a bit and the socks last forever. My hand is slowly getting there with some knitting physiotherapy. Best wishes!
Sorry to hear about your beloved pet. I just came across your podcast today and decided to take a peak. I will have to go and check out the previous ones to catch up. I am currently working on knitting plain vanilla sock for a Christmas gift. Thanks for a great video.
I'm so sorry you lost Pippa and in such a terrible way. I Hope she's up there running around with my Max and Susie ❤❤. Congratulations on 1000 subscribers, well deserved. I'm working on numerous projects atm, I have 3 Sidsel Hoivik jackets on the go, Nor'easter by Thea Colman, slipstravaganza, a Jennifer Steingass sweater, Rowe by Michele Wang, Ballerina by Hanna Falkenberg, Chestnut by Marie Wallin, I better stop there, I'm beginning to see I have a problem 😂😂😂
You made me laugh because your wip list sounds a lot like mine. I am impressed that you have 3 of Sidsel's jackets on the go. That is amazing. I do have 2 more waiting for me when I finish the Albertine. I also hope that Pippa, Max and Susie are having a great time over the rainbow bridge. Best wishes and happy knitting!🥰
I just found your podcast from Cozy Meadow Knits. I am always looking for Canadian podcasters. I am in friendly Manitoba and I am knitting on socks for a Christmas gift. Also, so sorry for your loss. I recently lost a pet due to cancer.
Hello Manitoba! So sorry to hear about the loss of your pet. It is such a hard thing. Socks for Christmas gifts are wonderful. They will be loved by their receivers. Best wishes!
Congratulations on 1,000 subscribers! I have gone through and watched every single one of your videos and I am so inspired and humbled (in the best way) by what you make! I’m currently working on a colorwork sweater (the Porcelain Sweater) and I just started the Ingrid Sweater as well. Best wishes from NC!
I just found your podcast from a mention by Sophie at Cosy Meadow Knits. I'm so sorry about your sweet Pippa, and hope you're slowly getting over the traumatic experience. I'm currently working on a Cumulus blouse, having just got back into knitting .
I'm working on the Cloud Peak cardigan by Joji Locatelli. I have long admired Sidsel Hoivik patterns. Plan to make one someday. Sorry to hear about your dog. I hope you and your other dog heal quickly.
I love to see your Norwegian cardigan. Thanks for showing your progress. I’m knitting Sidsel Høivik’s Epleblomst Jakke. She is a clever designer and a great artistic creator. Her IG feed has introduced me to you! How could I not have known a fellow Ontario knitter? Love your podcast xxx❤
So sorry to hear about the loss of the dog and your injuries to your hand. I am working on a striped Tolsta Tee in pink and orange- a left over summer knit that is almost done.
I’m so sorry about Pippa! I hope your hand heals up soon too! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. I’m knitting the Stephen West MKAL at the moment despite the controversy. I think it it turning out nicely.
So sorry for your sweet Pippa😢 I’m new here and happy to have found a new podcast. I think i liked your personality immediately so I’ll be binge watching you. I am currently working on the roadside beanie, another ranunculus and a second Felix cardigan. Congratulations on your 1000 subscribers and thank you for this chance of winning this beautiful skein of yarn! I’m also in Ontario near Hawkesbury and I’m going to check for this dyer!
Hi! So glad that you found me. Hawkesbury is not that far away from my family cottage. A beautiful area. You sound very busy with all of your projects. Happy knitting!
@@mywonderfulknittinglife yes, its a beautiful area! ☺️ i used to live on the quebec side near the Ottawa river, but we fell in love with an old farmhouse not far from Vankleek Hill. I’m surrounded by lovely rolling hills and it’s so quiet here. Yes, busy always, but its a good busy❤️ looking forward to watch more of your podcast !
Congratulations on 1000 subscribers! Hello from southern Ontario😊. I am working on a modified version of the Westknits MKAL. I'm also going to start the Jack Ladder sweater by Jennifer Beale...which will be part of a yearlong KAL hosted by Knitting With Cat Hair...it is a KAL based on any pattern by Jennifer Beale 😊
Sorry to hear about your dear pet. Congratulations 🎉 on your achievement! I am working on the My Version Ranunculus. It's my own little design. And I am knitting it with unspun wool.😊
I'm so sorry about Pippa! I lost my elderly dog via a mishap in August 2020 and I still miss her. So glad that Suki popped in, what a lovely kitty. I'm working on several projects: Sockoween socks KAL hosted by the Bakery Bears, The Corran Cardigan by The Creabea, the Stephen West MKAL, Sofia's Tales suprise sock KAL, and the Haunted House MKAL by Tellybeans Knits :)
I am so sorry about Pippa. It is so heartbreaking. I hope your hand heals well and quickly. I just discovered you podcast and thoroughly enjoyed it! I am currently working on Simply Ribbed Socks with Square Heel by This Handmade Life. Then I will knit my second sock, Star of the Snow by Stone Knits.
I am so very sorry about your doggie and your injury. 😢 I am currently knitting the Autumn League Pullover. I’m not quite halfway down the body then the sleeves and the neckline. Your color work projects are beautiful. I’ve only done colorwork once, just a 2” section on a pair of mittens. I really struggled with keeping it loose, I have to practice some more before I try it on a sweater.
Thank you. Colour work gets easier but many say that going up a needle size for the sections that are colour work helps a whole lot with the tension. Best wishes!
So very sorry for the loss of your pet. I recently had a similar experience, our little 5lb Yorkie was killed by an owl and we are so heartbroken. Hope your hand is better, as knitting and crafts do help us cope. ❤️
I am so sorry to hear about your little Yorkie. It was a month yesterday since PIppa was killed and it was a hard day. I am finding it difficult not to blame myself even though I know there was nothing I could have done that would have changed the outcome. I am also find the silence of the house to much at times. Pippa was a very vocal dog. But, the crafts do help and I am starting to think more about the good memories. I also have a little project on the go that I will share in my next video. I am hoping this project will help me recover or at least move forward. Sending lots healing thoughts your way.🥰
@@mywonderfulknittinglife it is so hard, as I blame ourselves as well. It’s been almost 4 months and still having a hard time, we miss him so much. We are on the list for a Mini schnauzer, but will still be a few months before we expect her. It must help as you have another dog, ours was our only. I am sure your other dog misses Pippa as well. I love all your knitting and I feel you are an expert! Take care.
I think it does help that I have other pets as they keep me moving forward. I still have to feed them, go for walks etc. I wish it could be sooner for you to get another pet. Nothing will replace the pets that are gone but I think we can honor them by sharing our love with another fur baby. I am definitely not an expert but I am very determined and stubborn with my knitting!
I also lost a pet this year. It’s never easy and I feel your pain! I have been working on a Halloween Cowl! It’s a mystery KAL and it’s been nice to have something to look forward to each day.
I'm so sorry to hear about what happened, sending you love from New Zealand ❤ I am currently dealing with a CFS flare up so not knitting, but if I was I would most likely have been knitting on the MKAL 🧶
So sorry about your Pippa, what a difficult experience. Sending you my warmest vibes and best little stitches form my current projects : Barbara (by Marianne Isager) and Dusking (by Kiyomi Burgin). I also have a cowl that I pick up on and off, here and there, mostly on the go. I hope your pain fades and your hand heals 💛
I am so sorry for your furbaby loss. 😢 I wonder if Grande Ours doesn’t refer to the Big Dipper which is the name in French. Just found your podcast and I love it. I am a Quebecer living in NC so I feel a connection 😊 Thank you for sharing your makes with us!
Thank you, I am still missing Pippa very much but I will have some life news in my next episode. i think you are right about the Big Dipper! Another viewer said the same thing. Sometimes google translate doesn't do a great job and even though I do speak some French, I don't always know the out of the way vocabulary. I will update this in my next episode. So glad you enjoyed the episode. Best wishes!
Hi! I found the sizing pretty much the same as here in Canada. I take a large or if I want something oversize I go xl. Her jackets are meant to be somewhat fitted so I am finding the Large to be a perfect fit. I hope that helps!

It is never easy. It's amazing how much if our hearts they take up.
I'm so sorry to hear about what happened, sending you love from New Zealand ❤
I am currently dealing with a CFS flare up so not knitting, but if I was I would most likely have been knitting on the MKAL 🧶
I hope your feel better soon and hopefully you can make the MKal at a later date.
so very sorry to hear about your loss . I am knitting a colour work cardigan Karelides.
Thank you, I will have to look up the Karelides as it is a pattern I don't know.
Thank you, enjoy your projects. They sound lovely.
❤
Hi
I am interested in doing one of Sidsel’s Jackets. How does sizing work with her patterns?
Hi! I found the sizing pretty much the same as here in Canada. I take a large or if I want something oversize I go xl. Her jackets are meant to be somewhat fitted so I am finding the Large to be a perfect fit. I hope that helps!
Yes it does, thank you.😊
Working on short row heel socks no real pattern just trying to get the heel to look good on vanilla socks 🌸
Heels are always tricky!
@@mywonderfulknittinglife yes I’ve done the flap a bunch but hate picking up so trying this as well ❤️
I hate picking up the stitches too!
