Surprised they're doing a 3 in 1 castle again but I can see it referencing another old faction kind of how the current castle is black falcon themed. I'd guess it's lion knight based and then Kraken or wolfpack knight included as well

When was it announced that the Kraken Knights won? I haven’t seen anything in regards to which faction won

First to admit this is highly unlikely but I'd still love to see the faction be the raven knights! But as long as it's a new faction I'll be happy especially because that means they will probably show up on pick a brick!

I would like to get a wolfpack set but I don't think that this will be - because we get the wolfpack set from BDP. A castle for the forestmen is out of discussion. In my opinion it will be a castle for the dragon knights, just think about the medieval townsquare, there were several hints/links to other things: -the beware of basil linked to the CMF -the wanted sign linked to the upcoming wolfpack beastmaster -and there are 3 letters showing the Lion Knights, the black falcons and *the Dragon Knights* The Torso already exists in case of the Majisto GWP but we missed a shield, probabely this was tactic because all castle fans were fixed and now could be fixed even more if the news about the new Castle will be official 🐉

I really loved the Griffin Knights design from that poll. It just screamed classic castle and even though it didnt win, i still hope we will see the design at some point in the future

that looks like to much like the black falcons 3 in 1 castle. I believe it to be a Wolfpack castle. Some one mentions Wolfpack torso's being on pick a brick or somthing. And creator don't realy make new pieces. And the lion castle is still available. Where also getting the Wolfpack CMF. It would also be a different style and theme from the old castle, becuse of the wolpack aesthetic and sets. So i think its wolfpack. RAWR XD.......or somthing.

The background is unlikely to mean anything. After all the creator Red Dragon had a castle in the background that meant nothing.

It'd be pretty cool if it featured a new faction but not expecting it, also I'm a bit nervous all three build options will be great meaning I'd want to get three which is tough to pinch financially

I think the set will be a useful set either as its own build or for pieces, the main factor is the faction included! I personally think it’ll be a faction we’ve seen in the CMF series or GWP recently and not the winner of the machine competition. I can’t wait to find out.

the castle is a remake of the vintage "knights castle" except that one had a red entrance but its the same design. That was another black falcon castle so I think it will be pretty similar to the old one.... hopefully with a real horse.

You covered all the angles on this one, sir. I kind of hope it’s not like the one in the background of the dragon set, but it could be, and if it were, I’m sure there will be plenty to like about it.

The current 3-in1 medieval castle is retiring this year, and LEGO in the past has brought in new sets that are very similar to retired sets (especially in the creator and city themes), because kids are constantly aging into the LEGO hobby, and LEGO is not going to keep the same set on the shelves for years on end, at least not an unlicensed set. This new 3-in-1 castle set is marketed for ages 9+ so it is not supposed to be a set geared towards AFOLs, and I think expectations should be adjusted. Just my two cents.

I would absolutly love to get knights kingdom minifigures today in more realistic colours. A rascus helmet in gun metal grey or black would be an absolute dream. They really need to bring back a fantasy castle theme. As much as i love lego lotr, think how much money they would save on licensing if they just did their own fastasy stuff. It would absolutly sell well.

It is hard to say. I will say this. I would love this now a days. Especially if you did all their bases and sets are ruin castles. If they can't do more D&D, I would love for Lego to do fantasy adventuer. I think this would be a perfect villain for them!

I really dislike most fantasy elements in castle so I much prefer the story we got, anything remotely similar to ninjago/nexoknights is just overplayed and lame.

This is a fun investigation! I was in my dark ages at this time, but emerged in 2011 for Kingdoms/Eurobricks.

Oh as a kid I thought the name Morcia might have been based on an actual kingdom. The closest in history related to Morcia was the Kingdom of Mercia which was later led by King Alfred's daughter, she would inherit the kingdom and became Aethelflaed Lady of the Mercians. It's ironic even though she was an Anglo-Saxon the, the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles whereas the Irish and Welsh annals who were enemies to the Saxons, recognize her as a renowned Saxon Queen. This is where I learned more about the Welsh and how Wales is described by the Saxons as forest, barren and mountainous land much like how Ankoria and the Borderlands are described in KK2. Wales is where a lot of the Legend of King Arthur comes from. A great book series based on Welsh mythology and legend is The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. It's a children's series not very big books but wow those books still hold up. Disney's The Black Cauldron is based off of The Chronicles of Prydain but took liberties of course. I love both the books and film 😊

they did do a gargoyl bridge set, no?

I used to have all the cards but I foolishly got rid of them. 😅but I recently completed the KK2 cards took a year to do it but worth it. The Sorcerer card fascinated me so much as a kid and the gargoyles too and was hyped to see where the story would go. Mike Rayhawk the illustrator, phenomenal artist btw, for the cards also worked on Nexo Knights and that's where the gargoyle influence from him got into Nexo Knights. For me I thought wave 1 was a solid introduction but I felt the Knights should have had different weapons like tmnt to distinguish each character from each other. The proto types actually this but Jayko prototype looks weird with the crossbow lol. TH-camr Cheesey Studios has some great videos on KK2. Really looking forward to him covering Wave 3 of it. The constraction figures wave 1 I did not like as a teen but wave 2 I thought was way better and wave 3 the best. For the play sets I enjoyed all of them I just wish there was more Morcian common troops to fight Vladek's Shadow Knights and later Rogue Knights. I know the Rogue Knights are joked as being naked but the colors for Dracus are yellow but their lego faces are typically are yellow which gives them that uncanny look. A better color I wish Lego used for Dracus' troops is the color from the Tournament Knight Cmf instead of yelllow lol. The wave 2 playsets I thought were great because it had Vladeks Dark Fortress, highly underrated castle set btw. The thing that annoyed me back as a teen was the online discussion saying that KK2 was juniorized which is complete baloney. Cuz all these sets introduced me to technic pieces and elements to function as part of the play experience like for the catapults, using them as vines on the Cidital of Orlan to have Rascus climb to the top, or as a battering ram for Vladek and Matthias siege towers that's clever not juniorized. The funny thing is the older Castle sets are just look very dated compared to later Castle sets but I recognize thus was the start of a great Lego Theme. Ps: Fright Knight builds are pretty atrocious. I still love em tho. 😅 The wave 3 sets I really did and still enjoy I just wish they had a few more for the wave cuz according to Mike Rayhawk it was cut short. So they had to finish the story with a few sets. They definitely should have had a wave four with the Sorcerer released and Vladek leading the gargoyle army alongside his rogue knights against Morcia. Which would have been an epic showdown. Side note: Fantasy Era should have given us Elfland in a wave 4 😊

I actually like Knights Kingdom 2. This would've been awesome. Although personally I think the groups that hated KK2 would've hated this as well. So it might retroactively have made a stronger ending that people look back on more fondly but ultimately in the moment not so much.

For once, I actually completey disagree with you but oh well, each to their own ! (except for that mace piece I NEED it)

If they were to make a new faction, I think it would be cool to release a new helmet piece alongside it.

Kraken faction! This hopefully makes more nautical/coastal castle themed builds and maybe aquatic monsters? Where can I vote? Side note: i always think of the tournament knight as a legendary black falcon veteran who represents himself at the tournament. I personally think his logo should be exclusive to him alone and not a faction.

I kept hoping that you were kidding about the new bow, I think it is one of the ugliest pieces ever made by lego, and most other castle fans agree.

The problem is that even if you have the money to buy such an expensive set, within a few months another one, or several, comes out and that is unsustainable for most people. With small sets, you have the possibility of buying one or two from time to time and that gives you as much joy as buying a big one. Bear in mind that I am talking about adults. Children have no chance of getting something like that and it is a shame.

Completely agree with the color scheme problem by remaking factions. They should have given the Lion knights a sort of darker, royal red, maybe more combined with white instead of blue. That would have made them stand out next to the Falcons and would have made it a lot easier to recreate Black Knights and Dragon Masters that also do not completely use the same red and blue. Dragon Masters and Black knights could have used black with red and have only slight differences in weapons or helmets, making it possible too combine them in one faction or make 2 separate factions out of them.

Dislike, same generic statements about "bad witch machine", "bad witch manor", "unique rock piece good", "bad time for lego because some jerkoffs on forums said so, please don't beat us up you guys". This theme is amazing, but you sucked at representing it.

I agree, it didn't need to be this big.. particularly for this faction. Not every faction needs a humongous castle set..

I had the exact same thoughts about the BDP. I am not a fan of how many big/expensive sets fill up each series. a 50-75 dollar siege scene would be ideal imo

I don't know about more factions. I just think we should get more torso options per faction. Specific armor for archers, heavy knights, heroes, etc., that are colored to match an existing faction. KTown bricks has good heavy armor torsos for the major factions, but LEGO should really be leading the charge and could have more affordable pricing. Also, smaller sets are a must!

*double agree* I bought the mountain fortress, not build yet because I lack of space and time, those are too big (and I don't want to sit there taking dust and yellowing due to the ultraviolts, I protect those expensive stuff), I plan to think about shrinking it but keeping the overall look... the next castle set, I'm currently divided to purchase it. Mostly because of the space all those sets take... but also because to me forestmen should be hiding in small sneaky places, not into big castle like this one... So well, as I said, I'm not sure to buy it... Plus something that bother me is the size discrepancy between lion knights castle and the blacksmith or the mountain fortress or this one... edit: small set, like majisto workshop, are more fun to build in my opinion, even if they are not perfect designs...

Max should have been $250. A lot of Lego prices are out control. They made 4.6 billion last quarter. smh

Series 4 you have the choice of three different Castle sets, one of them is lots of small designs like tents and a catapult, there is also a port castle and medieval scholars wood castle. So the medieval choices coming in the next series of bricklink should keep every medieval fan very very happy, with the small to large builds. If they keep doing so much medieval designs they may as well change the name to bricklink castle designers programme.
