Certainly what would be great to add is adding a lot more varied terrain to castle builds. A lot of the buildings are just slapped on a minimum of plates with only the tiniest fraction of vegetation around it. I would like to see way more green, maybe a mountain slope, or a hill or a creek or even a waterfall.
I'd love to see a medieval Roman theme. Give me stone walls with layers of brick. Give me horse archers. Give me cataphracts with lots of barding. Give me head prints with mail that only has the eyes uncovered. Give me lamellar armor prints for torsos, arms, and legs. Give me domes and semi-domes, columns, arches, and floating columns. Give me fountains, triumphal arches, and fortresses and fortified cities rather than castles. Finally, give me a throne room with a throne held up by lions which can raise and lower to overawe the visitors, complete with an emperor, a couple varangians (viking imperial guards with the same equipment as the other soldiers except using daneaxes), some courtiers (best if they're willing to make someone who looks similar to an Orthodox clergyman, even if they won't do actual religious stuff), some servants, and some regular soldiers. Finally, give me a dromon fire ship.
What I'd love to see are ruins. Maybe Roman ruins as part of a village. What I'd also like to see are more obscure medieval trades depicted in Lego. Something like a charcoal burner camp along a river. Would love to see that.
May not be it for you in case you are a Lego purist, but there is a german company calles Blue brixx who makes realistic in an historical way building block sets using chinese made building blocks and their designers works. They have in fact recently released a charcoal burner camp, in the future will have bell makers shop, a glassworks, have already mills, armories, blacksmiths, churches and so on!
I was literally just thinking how I'd love to see a very large Dragon Knights Castle set to go against the Lion Knights Castle, and I'd love for it to include a massive dragon. I really miss the old Castle sets and the play-ability they had. Especially fantasy-era Castle.
I think a Castle set with siege engines or a large catapult would be great. I know they've done some siege engines before, but something to attack the current wave of castles we've gotten like the Lion Knights and Creator 3in1 would be great. This could be a way to reintroduce one of the evil factions like the Dragon Knights or Trolls.
Great video! I would like to see Lego make a more grounded Viking theme, no horned helmets, where they would fight against some Anglo-Saxon warriors. Maybe for the second wave, the vikings could fight against some medieval Celts/Scottish faction. I would also like to see some sets depicting siege equipment for the lion, falcon, and rave knights, maybe a siege tower, a battering ram or some tents to lay siege to a castle.
I would actually love to see a set that is based on the Guédelon Castle construction project. It would be a realistic castle design, but could also fit in as a City set since it's a castle being built in the modern day. I'm actually surprised it isn't a Lego Ideas set yet.
I would love to see a castle that is more clearly a minor nobles house. Also, the opportunity to build a modular medieval town sounds awesome. Definitely want to see more figure packs.
Here in Germany, we have several medieval „salines“ or „ pan houses“, basically pumping stations where water was pumped into the ground and then extracted and heated to produce salt. The same technique existed in ancient China, where people actually used oil to power the pump, too. I think this could be a cool medieval or wuxia-themed set.
A while ago I made my own trebuchet out of Lego because I always thought that had a lot of potential to be a great set, especially if it functioned the same way as the real life counterpart. This would not only be a great thing for adult Lego castle fans who would really appreciate smaller sets to pair with their existing ones, but also have a fun and unique play feature for kids that makes use of a counterweight as opposed to just pushing on a lever to fire. Ultimately what I think would really benefit castle and fantasy Lego would be smaller sets that are actually affordable, as well as sets that emphasize hysterical architecture and design elements
I agree with smaller sets. Siege engines with 2 different faction figs in it, if you buy multiple, you’re at the same time building up 2 armies. Pieces of wall with different buildings in it, walls can be attached to each other. Again with 2 different factions in it. Basically create small sets that can be played with on their own. But also interesting to buy multiple, or collect over time. It would be interesting for kids, but also for adults.
An aerial theme would allow them to do something that could be made of familiar pieces , but still novel enough to be interesting. A could see sets like: a Pegasus knight fighting a dragon for larger mid sized set, winged Valkyries fighting a harpie for a small set, a king on an eagle mid-small size, a mountain top fortress or even a floating cloud fortress defended by winged gargoyles as the big one. not sure who goodies and baddies could be, but it would let them do something new.
There is so much potential for castle/medieval sets. I'm working on civilian sets for my kids for round about the last two years. They found my old castle lego and after playing round about 2 weeks they asked me why there is no Farm, no Butcher, no fisherman, no village, ... And after nearly 15 years without lego building I downloaded studio and created civilian sets 😂 In this time I created some sets, getting the parts and they get them as advent calendar or gifts for birthday/christmas. I already created a fisherman, a small farm, a small windmill, a warehouse, a big tavern ... And some of the kids ideas i try to create like the very old castle Sets which were build modular with a little wall in the backside. For this type I used a ground with 12x8 Studs and created a blacksmith, a tavern, a little "witch" with herbs and potions, a bakery, a merchant with farm products, a merchant with iron products, ... And I created it that way that the builds can put together in a way to create a castle surrounded by a fortified city. My son got the First builds on his 7th birthday this April. (The small builds were perfect to make it in several gifts and he gets them from his uncles, aunts and grandparents) His wishlist for this modular city is now very long and he will get some more moduls for christmas. 😊 Edit: in Germany there is a merchant with alternate bricks who made very crazy stuff - just lookout for BlueBrixx, they already created Sets for castle and pirate.
Actually I’ve been working on some of my own factions and races for a fantasy theme. By using existing mini figures and customizing them to fit. They include the T-Rex and dragon costumes, making them into dragon born and lizard men. Additionally I’ve used various cavemen and bare chested bodies to make a barbarian faction. Seeing Lego make their own version of these factions in a medieval set would be cool
I would love little 10 to 15 dollar sets with an exclusive knight and horse with barding and a squire, maybe a cool action feature, kind of like how ninjago had cool, unique spinner sets.
Oh, a medieval themed "modular line" akin to the Ideas Blacksmith would be awesome, but very bad for my wallet 😂So much potential with so many different occupations from the middle ages.
My innitial idea is remakes, the other forestmen sets, they could easily remake them and make them look really good. Second revamp the factions that we already have. The falcons and lion knights as well as the forestmen have new modern printing available. Go for the old 80/90s castle/city wall pieces with building attached, be it a market stall armorer or a blacksmith. Those sets sold well back then, they would today. And give kids the fun of building their modular medieval city.
If lego were to make a new castle theme I’d love to see crossovers between the factions, like the falcon knights in the lion castle. I’d love to see a couple crown knights mixed in with falcons, or lions, etc. it’d be cool to see them completely mix the knights across all the generations
I’d love to see the idea of a little horse wagon with a couple nights and a little bush for some evil faction to hide behind and ambush them (I tried to make that for the D&D ideas )
I would like to see lego sets set in 1600s. Invention of gunpowder and so callled military revolution changed warfare and fortifications from middle ages.
I think it would be cool if there was a battle pack with 4 figures each from different factions a knight a crossbow/bowmen a spearman and a wizard with replacement pieces to turn the wizard into a normal warrior you could swap the pieces to decide wich faction had what type of warrior the build could be a bit of a casstle so if you buy multiple you can make a full castle
I know is not for everybody, as some like lego in exclusivity, but other companies have been exploring that niche of more realistic in an historical sense of designs with the german company Blue Brixx. They do have churches, charcoal burner camps, taverns, mills and inns and buliding camps included! I personally love their style, so have a medieval village built with Blue Brixx, bur inhabited by Lego minifigures.
I was thinking, and my idea is that it will be cool to have some swamp civilisation or my favourite idea is to add jungle maya civilisation with new tipes of magic.
Videos like this makes me both happy and sad, cause i would love lego to give all this attention again to Castle / medieval, but it is unlikely to happen ig
@@BB2O2 maybe like a battlepack, a siege engine and a castle? also they could go up against another faction, maybe redesigned knights of the yellow castle.so they would also have a bp, a siege engine and castle. and maybe a duel/joust set with both the raven nights and knightsof the yellow castle. or maybe just a wave with all the cmf factions
Not necessarily a set idea but I think lego should make legacy versions of castles from all the castle themes since most of the caslte fans are older fans and most from that seeming to mainly want sets based on the themes they grew up with I think this would work, would love to see remakes of lego knights kingdom 2 sets

What about taking legos whole storage

the people pack idea is brilliant!
Agreed!
Thanks! I wish Lego would bring them back in general, they were a really good value. I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Great Outdoors one.

That's a neat idea, and I'm glad the algorithm is still working for me haha. Thanks for watching!

Sounds like a modern version of Bull's Attack from 2000!
Yes exactly! I knew I remembered something like it from a former set, but I couldn't remember what it was.@@BB2O2

Great topic and good video!
I would love to see a medieval dock. Lego used to make small ships for the theme. Maybe a remake of the sea serpent.

My idea is really simple:
Dwarves.
We need more dwarf everything. Mines, colonies, equipment, figures, etc.
I’d love to see the idea of a little horse wagon with a couple nights and a little bush for some evil faction to hide behind and ambush them (I tried to make that for the D&D ideas )
That would be neat! Kind of like an updated version of Forest Ambush from 2013
Exactly
I would personally love to see a skycity with birds flying around😂
I would really love to see some Draugrs, or some other Nordic mythological creatures to pair with the viking village and creator ship!
Interesting ideas! What's a Draugr?

Videos like this makes me both happy and sad, cause i would love lego to give all this attention again to Castle / medieval, but it is unlikely to happen ig
I want a merchant dock and a trade cog or galley. Maybe a Hanseatic League faction.
Mine is to have a under rock to the lion knights castle with a hidden dwarf city or a mysterious room or cave
I would also like a ork hideout
set idea, a castle atop a roman ruin
You're making me want a Rome theme, Frank!
My wish are Battle packs too
Id make a zombie/bone dragonset for an undeath faction
i dont really have any "ideas" i just want more sets with my lovely black falcon figs in them
I really missed the minifig packs, but I think the cmf’s killed the hopes of them returning. :(
Knights with guns. Nuf said
Tiny black falcon vs troll sets
Any set ideas in mind?
raven knights set wave!!!!
I know people have been crazy about those recently haha. Any set ideas?

Keep fantasy out of castle. They have Lord of the Rings for that.
