Running the mini Chong camera through a toilet trap and into a main sewer line
I got a repeat call for a plugged toilet at a gas station so this time I unplugged it and then camera’d the toilet. Towards the end of the video you’ll see me moving the camera back and forth by the flange and you can see like a brownish colored thing. I thought maybe it was just how the toilet looked or something. But anyway like an hour later I got a call saying it was plugged again so this time I pulled the toilet and that brownish thing you see by the flange was a rubber door stopper that someone flushed.

This is the new Forbest sewer and drain camera I got from Billy Chong. I just opened it up and did a little first impression video. Seems promising. Also a little update on the skids, the white one does secure itself, the bottom unscrews from the skid so you take the head off, put the bottom part of the skid through it then screw the other part of the skid on from the other side. Hey I have an anysun camera where the video signal goes in and out after a few seconds than stops working, guessing bad solder connection at end of cable? Ever work on these “offbrand “ camera
If it’s that black push rod camera I have one and it does the same thing. Absolute garbage. I think it’s the push rod cuz I have 2 heads for that camera and they both do it. Mine sits on a shelf. Not only for that reason though, the push rod is horrible too. I never got passed 40’ with it
@@terjavec yea black cable. Yea not the best lol, trying to get it back going
Hey mate, great videos! Did you end up getting the qyteco 6688 problem sorted? Would you still recommend these cameras?
@@marct1660 yeah it ended up being a bad push rod but then the replacement also went bad shortly after. So I don’t use that one that much. But I still use them. They’re good little cameras, I just had bad luck with push rods haha

Do you have a link on where to purchase. I can’t find any place online to buy. Is the QYTeco 6688 a Billy Chong camera. Thanks
Qyteco is sold by Mia Meng. Billy Chong sells a different brand

As we discussed before the mini has a 4.8mm push rod and 18mm camera head. If you were two buy another camera to supplement that (I.e. just to cover bases if you need to go into a bigger pipe) would it be more like a 29mm with a 6.8mm pushrod or some other size? I was wondering about this as you get closer to 4-6” range does the 4.8mm get harder to push any distance thru the pipe.
We were actually referring to the video where you had the four Billy Chong cameras. Specifically the two ADH units in the middle between your older one and unit with the pan and tilt. As a general rule of thumb given the pipe size of under 4” and saying you could only have one camera, would you prefer the flexibility of that mini verse the self leveling of the bigger 23mm unit. Thank you for your quick response.
Oh alright I thought you were talking about this new one haha. I think for a camera that is capable of doing virtually every drain inside of a house, that little one would probably be your best option. I want to say it’s 4.8mm push rod. Self leveling is nice but it’s not hard to figure out what top and bottom is
@@terjavec Thanks again for your help. We ended buying the mini and also his locator after watching your videos. I told him he is lucky to have you out there.
@@MontgomeryPaper oh that’s awesome. That locator is just as accurate as high end locators. It’s just a little harder to initially find the signal.
Hello Tony, we really appreciate your hard work in putting out these videos. This is exactly what we are looking for. We have been looking at the Billy Chong units based on your recommendation. If we are mainly using the camera at 4” pipe and below, do you feel that the mini camera’s ability to get into small areas outweighs the self leveling capabilities of the self leveling 23mm? Thanks again for all your work.
Hard to say. I haven’t got a chance to use this one one yet. It’s a different manufacturer than the older red one. I know the red ones that were awesome in like 2”-6”. This greenish push rod is slightly smaller so I don’t know how it’ll compare. I was hoping to use it today but the opportunity never came up. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get to try it out
Hi. Can the qy teco go though a toilet p trap?

What do you think about flex shafts what is your go to flex shaft have you ever order one off plumber tools ? Do those work or just get the rigid k204+ ?
@@FaNTi5YTV I love flex shafts, depending on the situation I generally try them first. I don’t have the 204+ but I that the regular 204, 102 and 306. In the 306 I haven’t broke my cable yet so I’m still using the ridgid cable. I’m using the 6mm plumber tools cable in my 102 and I usually run the 8mm plumber tools cable in my 204 but I’m currently using the ridgid dead core cable in it, which is basically the same thing. I prefer ridgids sheathing over plumber tools so in the 204 with plumber tools cable, I use air brake tubing for sheathing
That is awesome. How would I order this in California? great tool
@@vicv1597 I got this from jet flexi in the uk. I used it a handful of times now and I’ve basically destroyed the cable. I just got a 100’ grabber tool from boldan but it runs off an air compressor. I haven’t used it yet but it looks promising

Hi. Thank you very much for the time you take to make and share this Videos. I live in Canada, I am a technician in rat problem. And I want to give the best service possible to my clients, so in order to do that I need to inspect the drain system to find the opening where the rat are getting out. Right now I can only afford 1 camera, so I am looking for a inspection camera that will allow me to conduct Drain system survey for: House and 6plex building( bigger buildings I will refer my clients to a swear survey company) I will also need to be able to find the head of the camera to identify the exact place where the opening need to be done for the plomber to repair. Can you plz guide me, in your experience, what is the best kit for me to meet my needs? Thank you so much for taking the time . I will be waiting for your answer.
@@cesarestrada1283 well it all kind of depends on your budget, but to just get started for not a ton of money invested you contact Billy Chong on Facebook and get his smaller red camera and his locator. @@terjavec I see, yes it’s expensive. So yeah I will start with more low budget locator Thank you very much
@@cesarestrada1283 I don’t really remember but I think it was around $3k. But it’s a very good locator. Also if you get one, I’d opt for their rechargeable battery. I’ve been using that battery pack for about a year now and I haven’t had to charge it yet and I locate pretty much every day
@@terjavec Hi again, I have make more investigation about my most commun need with other people who works in the rat control inspection and they told me that most of the time I will be making inspection 3 or 4 inch pipes diameters. I prefer the opinion of Somme one who has work with them on the field. Thank you for your time.
Have you tried the new milwaukee locator? Saw one in action and it seemed so smooth. Wonder how they work with Billy's cameras.
I haven’t but I’m pretty sure they are like the same as the metrotech. In general the cheaper Chinese cameras have very small sondes and don’t work as well as like a ridgid sonde. But if you don’t need to down to like 8’ deep the Chinese cameras are just fine
@@terjavec houses and 6plex buildings how deep their sewer lines goes normally?

Hi Tony I wanted to ask one more thing I forgot an hour ago when I wrote to you. What is the size needed of the crimping dies for the k9-102 adapter and also the k9-204. I appreciate all the help. Thanks
Hi tony thanks for all the great info on the ridgid flex shaft ones from other company’s. You do a great job showing and explaining which helps all of us lean and put it to use. I have to replace the coupling on my flex shaft as it split all the way down the crop end but i am not able to find the connector online. I wasn’t able to see the part numbers on the ones you show in the video so I can have it for my files. I looked at the cable center online products with search but nothing came up. I haven’t called then yet to talk to a representative but I may do that this week. Maybe you can do a follow up video for those adapter connection parts. Thanks
I forgot to say that the part would be for a k9-102. Thanks.
Hi there, I’m not sure if you’re looking for the coupling for the 204 or the 102 but the part number for the 204 coupling is 65868 and the part number for the 102 is 65863. I’m not sure on the size of the dies for the crimping tool off hand but I bought a cheap one off eBay for like $40 that had a bunch of different sizes and it had the correct sizes with it

That's a lot of Chong... And to think... 🤔 You could have spent $13,000 on 1 Ridgid just for flex 💪🏻 .... Keep fighting the good fight 😎👍
All then made in China but ridgid or Milwaukee $10k USA dollars a totally rip-off
I just bought the 13.3 inch I can’t seem too find the location button. Is it always on?
Yes it’s always on
Hey Tony, could you let me know how flexible the shaft is on the k9-306? I know it is intended for 3-6" pipe, but I am curious what the minimum bend radius of the shaft actually is. Thanks!
I guess I don’t really know how to answer that. It’s a 3/8” cable but it’s still pretty flexible. I wish it was stiffer so it could be pushed long distances easier. Generally what I do is push my ridgid m40 camera in the line first, if my camera can push to the clog, then the 306 can. I primarily use this for root removal in 6” clay lines. These flex shafts aren’t too good at thick toilet paper clogs
how long before the board failed or how long did your favorite last?
So on the qyteco, it ended up not being the board, it was the push rod. I replaced it and it would good. However, a couple months later, the push rod did it again. But, there was something wrong with the board too but I found out that they all did. They all had battery drain issues but that had been fixed. I replaced my board again like a month or 2 ago and it completely fixed my battery issue
Also I’m still using my original camera from Billy Chong. His seem to be much better as far as durability
