    What is the power source on the cheaper cams? I''ve watched a couple of your comparison videos and neither one showed or even said what power source was? Elec or battery? I have Ridgid which use the Makita batteries which I really like as I already have some of the Makita tools.

    Hey Tony. Really appreciate your videos. Just subscribed.
    Ok so I am wondering how Qyteco handles offsets? Is it really limited on what it can maneuver over? Have you found yourself getting stuck snd not being able to scope an entire line? Thanks for the help.

    • @terjavec
      @terjavec  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It comes with 2 skids. I never run the big skid but run the small one pretty much every time I use it. It’s ok with offsets depending on the offset I guess. I think ridgid is best for offsets cuz the skid sits back from the head and it’s like a triangle shape

    Hello Tony. You mentioned QYTeco's sonde is not very good. Could you expand on that? Is it really hard to locate the QYTeco's camera sonde using the vLoc3-Cam locator? If so, at what depth do you think the QYTeco's sonde pretty much is untraceable? Thank you in advance for your help and for putting together this great video

    • @terjavec

      I thought I commended back on this but I must not have haha. So the sonde is always on, it works but it’s just not as strong as like a ridgid. With my good locator, after around 7-8’ deep the signal gets spotty but it will still locate. My record with it was like 11-13’ deep with it

    Hey Tony, I saw in one of your responses that you like the vlco3. It seems likes there’s a few different vlox 3 models. Which one do you like best. And does one of the vloc models locate sonde and also come with a setup to hook to tracer wires? Really appreciate any help and just subscribed. Thank you!

    • @terjavec
      @terjavec  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there… I use the vloc3-cam. Pretty much all I use for locating is 512hz. I think my locator does like 4 or 5 different frequencies but all I use is 512. I think the only different between the cam and pro models are the pro does more frequencies but don’t quote me on that haha. But if you have a signal generator, I’m guessing it would put out the other frequencies that the -cam model can pick up for line locating. I just do sonde locating so I don’t care about the other stuff haha

      @@migdalia358 so I’m not expert and I’ve never read a manual or anything on these cuz I’m a guy haha. But, I’ll tell you how I do it. So as long as you got the camera that has a sonde, you don’t have to do anything. The sonde is always on. To locate it with the vloc3, turn it on, make sure it’s set to 512hz and I turn the gain or whatever it is called on the upper left all the way up and start looking for the signal. If you’re far away the arrows are gonna kinda just go all over the place but as you get closer it’ll find it. As you get a stronger signal I keep turning the signal down to get a more accurate locate. It’s usually dead on for me. I have another video on here with me using the locator

      @@terjavec in Europe we have a different Billy Chung,but the same camera you have. After using them for one year problems started. Sonde wasn't working All the time, on-off button stuck and problems with the camera connection to the screen.

      @@freddylageschaar6028 yeah there’s one big company that makes them but they don’t sell them so a bunch of different people sell them. Billy seems the best to deal with to me, but the only issues I’ve had so far are a wire inside the spring will break from from bending too sharp and I’ve had that interconnect cable go bad a couple times too. I’ve never had a sonde issue yet though.
      Even with some issues, I think it’s the the best bang for your buck
