  • Just a short video of some different sewer cameras from Billy Chong. It shows my original camera, the mini AHD, the regular AHD, and the pan tilt AHD.

    Iv got the 3rd camera in HD and absolutely love it - (but that last one with the rotational camera head could be handy) only would use it once every couple months just for 4 inch sewer drain inspections and it’s ridiculously clear and so compact and easy to record- flawless, would be cool to Bluetooth to phone though, one day . I was a bit skeptical and I did lots of research and tony was super helpful only reason I purchased was because of his help and his video reviews - always good to know someone who’s done the background checks/research and bought many cameras through them so trusting him i found Billy Chong on Facebook and ordered it and arrived rather quickly and I live in New Zealand so a long way away, cheers again Tony and Billy for your awesome cameras!

    Learned a lot from your comparison videos. My need is to locate and inspect 4 to 8" corrugated field drainage tile. Would like to be able to see tees and push at least 300 feet.

      Hmm, I don’t think these would work too well for that. A crawler would probably be your best bet. It’s hard to push that far by hand. My longest camera I have is a 200’ uemsi and I almost pushed it all out in a brand new 6”. I couldn’t push more than about 190’

    Which camera works best with your phone/sd/usb? I have apple products? Do they have a usb to save videos to? Are the videos easy to send to clients via email and what not? Are the batteries replaceable when they get old and don’t work anymore?

    • @terjavec
      @terjavec  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven’t saved any videos with that pan/tilt but all of these normal Billy Chong cameras save to an SD card so you just need a card read that can plug into an iphone. These cameras are easy to send to people from your phone.
      I also use the qyteco camera and those ones are more difficult. Those cameras save the videos as .avi so in order to view them on your iPhone you have to convert the files.
      That’s why I prefer these Chong cameras. Plus they seem more durable. I haven’t had any battery issues

    Which one do you prefer for sewer inspection purposes. QYTeco or the AHD?

    • @terjavec
      @terjavec  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The qyteco has a better picture but I prefer to do inspections on the Billy Chong ones. Mainly because I use iPhones and the qyteco saves videos as .avi so it’s just an extra step to convert the files to something I can use.
      Also I feel like the Chong cameras are a little more durable

    If you had to recommend a camera(never owned one before) for a septic contractor what would you suggest. I would like one with the ability to locate the head

    • @terjavec
      @terjavec  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All of these locate. How deep do you normally need to locate down to? The sondes on these cameras are my only complaint. They give a strong signal down to like 5-6’ but after that it gets kind of jumpy. I use a metrotech vloc3-cam locator

    • @Rprecision
      @Rprecision 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @terjavec most lines are less than 4'. Occasionally it may see sewer line locate which usually donsent exceed 8-10' deep at the tap in the street. That's probably the exception

    • @terjavec
      @terjavec  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Rprecision oh alright, I mean these cameras will locate that deep if you have a decent locator. But like I said the signal gets kind of jumpy after like 6’ deep. For the price, these things are hard to beat. For deeper locates I usually use a ridgid camera or a uemsi. But those are waaay more expensive than these from Billy Chong.

    Does your screen ever turn green and stay that way when you turn it on?

    • @terjavec
      @terjavec  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I had one issue where it did that but basically I just took the head off and put it back on and it seemed fine after that.
      On the newer ahd ones, you need to have the correct camera head for what it’s set on in the settings or else youll get a goofy screen
