Have you tried the new milwaukee locator? Saw one in action and it seemed so smooth. Wonder how they work with Billy's cameras.

I haven’t but I’m pretty sure they are like the same as the metrotech. In general the cheaper Chinese cameras have very small sondes and don’t work as well as like a ridgid sonde. But if you don’t need to down to like 8’ deep the Chinese cameras are just fine

I’ve never used one so i can’t give you a good answer, but I will say this, I don’t think I would go cheap with a locator
My vloc3 is dead on every time. If I were just trying to get a general idea of where a line goes or roughly how deep then a cheap one would be fine but if I’m locating for someone to dig it up, I’m gonna make sure I’m 100% accurate

i have a gen eye locator and i love it easy to use i would say is better than ridgid scout
