Glad you like them! That was the reason to start experimenting, make a channel for new and returning players to get a little refresher on some mechanics

Another very enlightening video so thank you. One can only hope as many people as possible see your video and learn from it because there is no redress from falling prey to a scam. CCP treat it as ''part of the game'' and, for once, treat us as adults who should have known better.

It is similar with all scams, just using game mechanics. But I agree with you, the more people are aware, the harder it will be for scammers, and that in turn means that they will need to make more complicated ones, which have a lower chance of working.

Great guide put up all scams yesterday, made 10 billion in the first hour, thank you!!! Just joking, my favorite market scam is adding a number of zeros to the sell order so it seems to be the correct price incase you have the orders sorted by highest price for some reason. Lost a couple houndret million on a few damage controlls this way. Fun thing: i just asked the guy to give me back the isk and he even replied and gave me back half of hte money. Still houndrets of millions lost but totally worth the experience imo.

Ooh, I did not think of that one. It is risky for the scammer because they have to pay quite a bit in taxes. Interesting that the guy did give you some money back.

I think the first one is more innocent than you realise, people selling to buy orders alot can do these mistakes when immediate is not selected.

This is possible, but when reviewing market orders tonfind examples I found some that were covering for example every single filament of certain level. At some point it has to be a play

Whatever happened to the escrow overdraft scam? Did it finally get out of hand?

    • @GildiiAuscent

Oh? What scam do you mean?

@@GildiiAuscent Back before took my hiatus, you could train escrow skills, so that you didn’t have to lock away the full isk amount for buy orders. Part of it was locked away and the rest would be drained from your wallet as the order got filled.
The scanner would but up sell orders or contracts for some of the more esoteric items on the market, and then put up bulk buy orders on the said item, making it look like there’s the potential for a quick flip.
Buy orders on escrow can only be completed if the purchaser has enough isk to cover the buy price. So the scammer would intentionally drain their own wallets.
A mark would eventually notice the bait, and buy the item of the scammer.
When the mark attempted to fill the buy order, the order is cancelled due to lack of funds.
The scammer gets ISK of the sale, and the mark is stuck with a bunch of worthless junk item.

Interesting. I think they did chances to skilling of market trading and I am pretty sure that the whole amount isnpulled when you set up buy orders, so this got probably prevented

So you didnt figure out margin trading buy orders scam?
List 1-2 rare cheap item 4b price
list 3 same item 5b price(different acc) just with margin you remove isk from wallet so buy order cat be filled.
    best scam

@@GildiiAuscent aye I think margin trading has been removed. It was entirely useless except for scams :D You could post a 5B buy order while only having 1B on the character or something like that. And then the BO was dead on arrival, anyone trying to sell to it failed and got 0 ISK because the buyer cannot pay.
