Happy to help! Pochven highway, as some people call it saves a lot of time, and I've heard of people from null using it to move stuff to hs for sale :D
I played this way for years. Lately, I have been running Besieged sites in lowsec, but I miss this and I think maybe next weekend will be the time to pop out there again.
The main advantage of Filaments is - they let you get into the action the fastest. The main disadvantage - you have no control over the region you'll land in... For targeting specific regions, WHs are still the best bet. Thera connections stand out the most, especially if you have the BM folder access. Super easy to travel through, and while there are some camps occasionally, I generally find them to be much rarer than those in Null entry systems. Higher risk, but with much more control over your destination, Thera WHs are a great asset to any explorer. I'd still keep scanning any WHs encountered during explo itself, to keep track of any possible convenient exfiltration points, just as a precaution. Null locals often leave direct HS connections untouched and even unguarded, for the sake of their own logistical operations, so chances are you'll encounter some if you do any sort of extended runs. Using WHs also preserves your timer, in case you want/need to relocate quickly. Bit of a rant, but my main point is - Filaments are nice, but it's better to know the old fashioned ways too. They couple each other very well.
Thera highway is a good point which I may or may not have written down now on my list of topics :D I did focus on filamnets as they are a cheap and cheerful way of going in with clise to no preparation and being able to do it very fast, with your first extraction opportunity being just 15 min after you enter NS
@@GildiiAuscent Those 15min can be a headache if you land in an undesirable region, sometimes more than twice in a row... Thera connections have often been my way to circumvent the timer, and getting right back into action instead of waiting it out. Sure, filaments are much more secure, but by themselves the timer and randomness makes them a bit limiting. Which makes the Thera's public BM folder especially useful imo. But even Thera connections aren't always helpful, so scanning down and checking regular WHs you encounter can net some pretty decent results. Null to Null connections aren't all that rare, and can allow to juke any pursuers without relying on any timers or publicly known connections. Then again, that's just my Old School explorer talking, having learned the stuff before filaments were a thing. For good connectivity, Drifter WHs are also a viable option. Safer than Thera, since nobody would dare camp the exits, but also much more time consuming, because you have to map out the connections yourself. Also one of the best entries for WH explo, due to high class statics. And one of the more reliable exits, since every drifter hole is guaranteed to have at least 1 HS static. Not exactly useful for short trips, but quite handy when you're in dire straits. Like when forgetting/running out of filaments, and getting camped in a pocket well away from any Thera connections. But if we're talking about the easiest way to get into Null Explo - it's deffo joining a Null alliance. It's way easier to learn, without constantly worrying about possible bubble camps in your local space. Although at the cost of less sites and poorer loot. And it would also lack the harsh lessons one would learn solo, that would empower their future heists ;)
Yes, they can be a headache, but also finding out that you have the closest thera connection 20+ jumps away from you ends up being a similar time to get into NS, so to each their own. Drifter WHs are a great way of traveling, but as you said yourself, very time and work intensive - you warp away from the WH and have to burn to it to even check where you will get out, though, yes, noone will really want to camp those because of drifters popping out in kspace. Joining a Null alliance was quite limiting in my experience, because people have a tendency of focusing on 1 area, or 1 type of content, so they suddenly get their own HS 2.0 in their new alliance space, but won't run around grabbing sites from other regions. And if you don't have camps, people potentially hunting you, then you are just farming the regions, not really learning how to avoid those.
@@GildiiAuscent Yup, totally agree to all of that! Solo Explo in dangerous space is by far the best way to learn, so just knowing particular ways to get around can be very helpful. Be it WH connections or player connections... Still, I learned most of my basics in navigation/survival from explo during my Alpha days, and can merely hope these tidbits of our experiences can become helpful to any aspiring explorer reading these rants... 😅
Ha, that is true, explo was my first love as well, and I did a lot of things the hard way, learning here and there. I hope that the videos not only show people hey, do this or that, but rather open player eyes to new thongs and make them curious as to what else can be done
Sure, I think I mentioned you can grab extraction one, but with how deserted pochven is, it just saves time and isk if you scan out. But, proximity filaments are a valid way of doing it
@@GildiiAuscent i ask about it ofc. ppl told me it's 4. One even checked. you could lower it a bit, the difference wouldn't be very hard to spot. i have 3s and always feel when it's not anymore.
@@smokinggun8418 well, I will need to check and compare with ship that has 3.something align then and see if they align the same time. If they do, then yeah, I need to fix that, but I kept getting info that if it tells you 3 sharp, then it's exactly that
Measure game in fun per hour and not ISK/hour is something anyone should keep in mind, thanks for the reminder Gildi, o7
That is what the game should be about, fun!
Great vid Gildii. Thanks for sharing these tips for new and veteran players alike.
Thank you :) This is the plan for this channel, have some fun with posting videos while sharing more or less obscure mechanics with others :D
Good walkthrough. Learned the intricacies of pochven exits...Thanks! I would just scan my way out of null...this will save time, thanks again.

The trip home after a successful heist is always a blast
Oh yes, it is

Good luck on the trip!
This is my life in Eve. It's also a nice way to see all the different skies in Eve. Cloud Ring being the most impressive in my opinion.
You're right, I haven't thought yhat this is really a great sightseeing tool as well

how about getting to pochven, waiting 15minutes in cloak at safespot and then using proximity extraction filaments

I did this once, made 500mil in 20mins and got out safe, now I feel I cant do it again because it will never be as good
Or will it? 😉
Chase that high, do it!
i see 3.00 sec align time. hope you know it still counts as 4 sec.
It should not. If it was 3.01, then yes, but if the fitting window shows 3 flat, it should align in 3

Hey, just checked a ship with 2,9 s align and the 3.00. They both warped at the same time, so at 3 ticks exactly
