joining a null corp early on REALLY changed eve for me. It kept eve fun and fresh every day for me but I think the null experience depends on what alliance you join. I might have gotten lucky with the group i joined but i learned much more just playing cheap tackle then trying to rush into high DPS ships.
Experience can vary based on thr group you join, that is true. I can only speak from my experience on both sides of the blue doughnuts and the content I had, and still have in HS now. As for ship, yes, I agree. People rush thinking big ship is always better, but you can have a lot of fun with chep and nimble stuff for a while in eve
Great advice as ever. The worst thing I ever did was not joining a corp any earlier than I did. All the advice and help that came my way was of instant use and I had way more fun than playing solo. It's just a matter of finding the right one, a job in itself!
I'm making my own corporation, I've played EVE for a while and took a bit of a break after PIRAT fatigued us out. Now I'm trying to run a low key new bro focused exploration corp to help new / old explorer's find their footing in new eden. Watching this guide is helping me figure out what I need to do to avoid some red flags for newer players, thank you.
Have to echo that joining the RIGHT corporation for you has a massive impact on your enjoyment of the game. As a returning player, I had been out of the loop for over 10 years and knew nothing. I joined eve university and re-learned the basics, before moving on to a corp that helps me grow and most importantly is just fun! Don't stay in a place that isn't fun. There's thousands of corps out there and one of them will be the perfect place for you. o7
Some extra tips from someone who's spent the last 14 years teaching people how to run corps and helping new/returning players find them. The corp advert will tell you a lot about how put together they are and how experienced their leadership is. Do they have a recruitment channel or voice app like discord linked in the ad? If they don't have either of these move on. Do they have a bunch of filters selected? Hs,ls,ns,wh mining, pve,pvp ect. Move on to another ad. Do they have recruiters linked? If not, move on to another ad. For player counts. If it's a HS or ls or wh corp, anything over 150 members should not be trusted as accurate and is probably inflated by alts or inactive members. Make sure the ad mentions what they offer and what they are looking for. Corps that don't put this in their advertisement probably don't actually have a good idea of what they do/ want to. Because they were recommended in the video I want to point out that while groups like eve uni are great if you're the type of person who can be easily overwhelmed by meeting a lot of new people it may not be the best environment. Same if you learn better by having someone focus on teaching you spesificly. Groups like eve uni can lead you to feeling invisible or like you're still playing solo but with some catered events.
All very good points! And for the learning in big groups, true, everyone has their own approach and if they don't reach out to others, sitting in a bigger group can feel like playing solo still. But, that is where "eve is a chat service with fancy graphics" comes in. People need to put themselves out there if they want to break thr solo playing cycle, make some friends and have fun!
Which corps do you suggest? I joined a corp for FW where they advertised nightly fleet, I thought that was great because I may earn a lot of LP because my skills were enough to support fleet not as a fight yet… only once we did 1 FW run, the other days the fleeted to run gate camp or hunt battle cruises in Jita…
If you want to have a chat with them, you can check them out ingame or pm the ceo on discord, thephantomnl, he tried to reach out but yt hates and deletes his comments today
Thank you for your help keeping Astral afloat! Amazing content, great help! Merry Christmas!
Thanks Utric! Merry Christmas to you and Bane as well!

Thanks for being part of it!

It can be a job, sure, but one of the most important ones in game, as it will affect your gameplay later :)

Glad you like it! Good luck out there, throw in your corp name here in case someone would be looking for that!
@@GildiiAuscent I appreciate it, I want to focus on setting up some structure, but its the Constellation Explorer's Group.

Yep, don't let the sunk cost fallacy, because oh well, I already joined here stop you. Find a place where you feel good and enjoy the game
