Another great video! Thanks for the information and laughs. Beautiful work, amazing designer find, and another filament maker as an option. Keep being awesome.
Love Kingroon. I have run through 109 Rolls of PETG and 273kg of PLA since June of 2023. Love their $89 USD 10kg with Free Shipping Deals when they come up. I have ZERO issues with PETG on a Textured PEI sheet and have used ZERO glue.
When I print PETG on the textured plates I either do a fresh plate wipe with alcohol, or I'll apply a nice coat of windex on the plate. #1 most important thing for releasing PETG from build plates is waiting 10-30 minutes for the plate to cool. Ususally they realease themselves at that point.
I think you're supposed to add glue to the build plate with PETG to act as a barrier, not to make it stick even more as in the case of PLA. Also putting build plate in the freezer will help you release anything. Be careful pulling off build plate as you can destroy the surfce texture. Also you might want to look into using PETG on your support interface (interface only). You can set this in Bambu Studio. PETG doesn't stick to PLA so no scarring of the underside. Enjoying your channel.
This is very true. The glue stick creates a barrier that makes the PETG release from the build plate alot easier, and PETG is a great material for supports.
You can use many different bed adhesives, I use 3DLAC, I bought an upgrade pack from my vendor when I bought my X1C Combo, included in this pack was a bottle of the 3DLAC which works just great and seemingly lasts forever, the benefit being that the part isn't gunked up like it is with gluestick, I only use it with PETG and ABS though.
I like the kingroon filament I have been using it ever since I got that 10 pack you mentioned. I’ve been using them for the past 3 years. Glad you had a chance to try them out. Love your videos, keep it out.
I've got the fun of unboxing 4 pallets of mystery filament on Tuesday. I bought it from a company in the UK that went into liquidation recently. All I know is there's 603 rolls of various filaments.
@@Swainhammer13 I have that problem. Most of it will be resold, but a some of it will be added to my own inventory for sure. I know some of it at least is aerospace grade stuff that I couldn't even print on my Bambu's due to the temperature requirements.
@@gizmofactory That is strange... I just did it the other day just fine. I would check to see if your slicer, printer, and AMS are up-to-date on their firmware. If all else fails, you can set the PLA or PETG as PLA or PETG and adjust the filament profile settings to match the specified bed and nozzle temperatures for the support interface filament. Its how people did it before but I have never needed to. Just to make sure you should be setting the PETG or PLA as a support interface not the support itself. Not sure if that could be the reason you're unable to use support interfaces with these filaments but give that a try. Hopefully that helps.
I flex my build plate to get the petg models off it. Works all the time. Also, the bambu scraper can help get underneath once the print has started lifting.
When I print PETG I use PLA as an interface layer for my supports and base. Everything pops off super clean & easy. Loved this video and am now following Skipper07.
Also, you could leave the filament in the dryer and put it next to your printer and feed it directly into it and let it print and stay dry at the same time
Use the purple school glue stick to make a thin layer on the bed so the PETG wont bond to it. Always do this if you have glass bed or it can bond permanently and brake part of the glass if you try to force it off.
You can add glue, hairspray, and other such stuff to make PETG easier to remove from the bed. Prusa makes special beds for PETG not sure about Bambu. If you aren't in a rush you can skip all those extra layers and just let the PETG cool, you'll start to hear it cracking off the bed in an hour or so.
Use the Engineering plate for PETG if you have one. This is the best plate for this purpose. Nice adhesion and easy detach after it cooled. No glue stick, hairspray or other releasing agents needed - just use a clean plate washed with some laundry detergent. Set plate temperature 70C for the first layer and 80C for other layers. It's a shame Bambu no longer sell these plates...
yeah 10-th comment from me haha magigoo - it is an answer that you are looking for for sticky petg prints that sticks to well to the bed - regular scool glue or pva glu will work too
So now you used the filament i recommended with 3 colors a side I mostly use it in vase mode models. Ow and for the petg use blue painters tape or hairspray.
I don't use PETG on my textured PEI sheets if I can help it (and never on my smooth PEI), it has a tendency to bond too well. If I have to print it, I do it on the X1C's Engineering plate with a coating of Magigoo to serve as a release agent. Glue stick will do the same job for PETG on PEI. Side note, I don't print much PETG anymore. I've switched to glass filled ABS for prints that need to be durable/heat resistant. It's AMS compatible (according to Bambu) without much warping and very good dimensional stability.
Macy! Back again so soon?! The only Kingroon I have used is their tri colors....they are pretty sweet. The ONLY problem I have had is that the spools almost always seem to be broken when I get them. I have read of others having the same problem. You need to check out their blue/red/green, it is pretty awesome. I got a roll of the black/blue/purple that I think will be even more awesome, though I haven't tried it yet. I haven't tried this yet either (I will eventually), but you can use PLA as support for PETG (and vice versa I believe) and it supposedly breaks right off since the 2 materials don't bond to each other. There is a wiper mod I plan to make that uses this configuration. Someone needs to make you into a cartoon....your facial expressions on the thumbnails (especially this one and the school bus one), all I can envision is a cartoon Macy. LOL
recently got filament from ali, some usun which a lot of people use , and some unknown brand. the unknown brand needs to be printed at 220c but works great.(black) all pla btw. comes to just below 10 euro per kilo. best deal i can find here in europe.
I have had the same issue with PETG on my A1. Parts themselves usually come off fine after the plate cools. But any supports seem to stick way too well. The only way I have been able to get them off is to heat the bed up to 100 C. Then I can usually scrape the supports off.
use glue stick as a release agent to get petg off. Sounds counter intuitive, but i promise it is the secret. I print in only almost strictly petg. that and asa.
Haha the skulls have just become a thing now, idk I'm just drawn to them. I'm still more of a PLA fan, but it's nice to use PETG if you need something strong or for outdoors.
My experience with Maker world reviews they don't like negative reviews on files . Most are great but after getting my P1S I've had a couple that just failed miserably with a lot of time playing with settings to get it to work. I must have printed hundreds of designs given 5-6 les that 3 Star reviews most of which were deleted by MW saying it's misinformation? How it can be false when it fails is beyond me. I'm not new at this just using a Bambu printer..that is insanely relatable.
Yeah I can see that. I feel like the ones that have a bunch of makes but no reviews at all were probably negative and got deleted. I just look for a few positive and then hope for the best lol.
btw if you dont like to eat micro and nano plastic don't use petg if you really don't need it pla is superior filament due to biodegradability of it 💕 I know that you are a PLA fan as well as I'm
Another great video! Thanks for the information and laughs. Beautiful work, amazing designer find, and another filament maker as an option. Keep being awesome.
When printing with PETG on textured PEI sheet, you can use glue stick before the print. The glue helps release the print after it cools down
I love when companies support creators, it makes me want to buy from them.

Agree with Windex, but use the non-ammonia version.
Great video. I really like the pumpkins and the skull. Very cool. I have a lot to learn about the different filaments.
Try a Hairspray layer on the print bed, should work awesome for every filament type...
I use Kingroon PETG. Always dry the roll when it comes out of the package. To help with release from the build plate use Magigoo or elmers glue stick.

Such a good video. I loved everything you printed.
For the pumpkins you can use led diodes with a 9 volt battery 🔋 pack .
PETG Smooth plate and Glue Stick. The textured plates hold to well.
The pumkin. What a piece. Thanks again Macy
Macy I think the candy ghost would look really cool in glow in the dark
Yes you're right! Maybe I'll try that and print it as big as possible for a cool trick or treating decoration.

As someone who has to constantly stop myself from buying filament when i see sales, that sounds really fun!

That sounds amazing! I'd love to unbox a giant load of mystery filaments. But then I'd want to use them all :)
lol the pumpkin spout! Tip me over and pour me out! 😅 Awe! I love that airplane. Great video!
Hhahaha I figured it out eventually :)
The pumpkins are awesome
You can use PETG for support interface since the 2 don’t mix ☺️
PETG as a support interface to PLA or vice versa, is the cheat code to nice finishes with support 🤘
Bambulab studio doesn't allow me to 'mix' petg and pla. What's your trick?

3D gloop for glue can’t go wrong
Excellent stuff, but it costs too much for too little, and if you don't use it quick, it dries out way too fast.
I flex my build plate to get the petg models off it. Works all the time. Also, the bambu scraper can help get underneath once the print has started lifting.
My tip for PETG is use a release agent like the Bambu Liquid Glue or Magigoo. Let the plate cool and it typically comes off really easy.
i jump from the sky! I was looking for the video that will talk about them and judge them

Let it cool alot if it doesn’t release by flexing the corners of plate stick in freezer

Use glue meant for 3d printing like Bambu glue instead of generic glue because the Bambu glue also acts as a release agent

PETG, I have to use glue stick for it to release. it acts like PLA when you use glue stick :)
glue or hairspray on plate for easier removal of that PETG
nice !

The Grey is pretty good, Did the Calibrations with Bambu Studio. Can't Complain at all.

Weld on # 16 for pla
I second that! 👍

Why skulls? Haha
I need to try out PETG at some point - PLA purist right now
Haha the skulls have just become a thing now, idk I'm just drawn to them. I'm still more of a PLA fan, but it's nice to use PETG if you need something strong or for outdoors.
I buy their filament at $8.39. I'll never spend crazy money on filament again.

I know! I thought about it too late.
Skull Gal LOL
That's becoming my identity now lol
I've liked the kingroon I've tested, after I've dried it.

Yep still a PLA fan. I only use PETG if necessary.
17:00 can you use a glue stick it tends to help release after cooling down for PLA
16:52 textured build plate, wipe with ipa, don’t touch the plate and print. Wait for cool down and it should self release.
Could use glue stick too. It helps stuff stick better, but it also helps stuff not stick too much ☺️
