remember that glow in the dark are abrassive..so a hardend nozzle is good to use. stock nozzles will be destroyed alot faster with glow in dark. and if u can. use a 0,6 nozzle size. wont clog like on a 0,4.
That’s not entirely accurate. I actually print in glow for a number of my products (CC Tree is by far the best glow white/green PLA). It’s not the extruder that causes the issue with abrasive filaments. It’s the feed style of the X/P AMS and getting into the extruder. Something about the angles that causes additional friction, and when that happens, the filament stays where it shouldn’t, cools down, and clogs. You should 100% be using hardened steel nozzles, but if you use glow PLA with an A1/mini and the AMS Lite, it will not clog. I exclusively run glow through my Mini with the AMS Lite and have yet to have a single issue through a multitude of glow rolls. And it’s not unique to glow, as you found with the SunLu silk on the pumpkins - those errors at the bottom were caused by the machine struggling to pull and push the filament through the machine.
For the vase mode prints, increase your outer wall width. Even with a 0.4mm nozzle you can easily set 0.6mm. If you can, use a larger nozzle and bump up the outer wall width even further.
For your flat beach scene... Print it standing up (like a lithophane) with the gradient filament...then you'll get the effect you want... You'll need supports and a brim to pull it off
Thanks! I love your models! I filmed this before the candy corn and pumpkin were released. You posted about them after it was filmed and I was like nooooo!
Digging the color-change silk filament! I think for those pumpkins, I'd give adaptive layer height a shot... I find that helps me a lot when I'm printing models with steeper angles/curves.
You made me stay up way too late Macy! I usually watch your videos at work and comment when I get home, but I didn't have time today! LOL I haven't tried any rainbow yet as I don't really like the way it changes on layers....but I do think there are uses where it would work great. I've seen some articulating axolotls in a pink rainbow that look amazing! I do like tricolors though...they differ in that they have 3 (there are also bicolor) colors in the same strand as opposed to the colors being 'spliced' together. I think you said (and it looked) the metallic was tricolor. I think it's a great idea to spotlight other creators in this space, you are a kind and thoughtful person to include others in your success Macy!
Thank you for always being here, watching the videos and taking time to comment. You're seriously the best! I'm having fun trying out all the new filaments, but I'm also enjoying printing other people's creations. There are some incredible artists that I think deserve to be in the spotlight and I'm just using my platform to show them off :)
ooooh nice.. You get random surprise filament sent to you by companies?!?! Super lucky! I use Sunlu filaments myself.. Love them... But i go through so much of it, and struggle with money to keep stocked 😂
I bought that for my Christmas video last year! I liked it a lot. It’s the only transparent color I ended up fully using up. The others are just sitting in a storage box.
Enjoyed this video and the positive vibes you exude in your videos. I have had a challenge with printing some of hte color changing silk plas. I have the PEI textured plate from Bambu and the couple that I have tried to print don't seem to want to stick and end up having failed prints. I am sure it is something I could take care of in the settings but I don't know enough yet to figure out what settings to tweak. So, I mention this because I appreciate your sharing your settings and thoughts of why you are making the changes in these ideos.
A simple temperature change could be the fix. I ran the silks using the bambu silk profile which has a bed temp of 65. Maybe start there and see if that works.
Years ago, I found out the hard way that glow in the dark filament tends to destroy nozzles. Turns out that that the powder they put in the plastic, that makes it glow, can be as or more destructive than carbon fiber. I don't know if you swapped the harden steel nozzles on your machines, but if not, I wouldn't run much glow stuff through it, or you will need to replaces the nozzle pretty soon.
Suggestion when printing Glow in Dark Filaments is to make sure your using Hardened Steel Nixle not the default Stainless Steel that comes with the P Series of Bambu Printers. They can ruin None Hardened Steel nozzles.
Have you tried SUNLU PLA Matte on any Bambu labs printers yet? If so would you be able to tell me which filament profile you chose/ what settings you use, I got my first printer recently the A1 Mini, and the first time loading in filament I used SUNLU PLA Matte white and the filament was freefalling/oozing out of the nozzle under the generic PLA settings after loading while the printer was idle, I was wondering if this was due to selecting the wrong profile for the filament type. Also did you dry your spools before using them? I didn't dry mine and tried it straight out of the box along with the freefalling/oozing of the filament after loading it was also steaming as well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, I've already bought a bunch of SUNLU filament and I'm hoping it is just user error. Thanks in advance!
I haven't tried it. Maybe lower the max volumetric speed for the filament since they aren't high speed filaments. There's lots of ways to make it work I'm sure but maybe start there.
Macy said - "I Like this design a lot better now it is in the dark". Sooo - it's a bit like me, i look a lot better in the dark, and some say, from a looooooong distance 😀, Cool Video Macy, keep em coming.
so Ok, im figuring this out in real time too. I believe 0 mm/s (10%, 25%) means between 10 and 25% it will not slow down, 50mm/s (25%, 50%) means it will run at 50mm/s between 25 and 50%. I could be wrong, but that's what I'm gathering from it
Merci beaucoup for this vidéo :) . I like to see you making things. I MUST to find a tutorial to learn how to use Illustrator, looks to be realy nice software to make desings. I love the desing you did. With my experience i think the Rainbow rolls are not realy easy to use, you must have a vertical objet ton print to see the colors changes. I prefer the rolls with 2 colors in same times you should try it. Hopping you will make nice desings for my favorite day of the year = HALLOWEEN :D, glow in the dark roll can be interesting for it. Can't wait to see your next vidéo. A bientôt :p
Thanks for watching, I'm so glad you're here :) A Halloween video is definitely in the works! I love the decorations and all the fun Halloween themed prints so hopefully I can come up with something fun for you guys!
I'm new to 3D printing, so don't take my words to mean much, but, if something has a specific brand name in the title of it, and the item I had wasnt that specific brand name I wouldnt be using settings that were specifically tailored for that product to print with..... (I have a P1S with AMS) There's plenty of profiles pre-set on the Bambu Lab machines under the pre-text of 'Generic' that you shouldnt have any issue finding one to match your filament... or, hell, just make a profile for that filament after a little tuning.. I tune every single one of the filaments I have... In my mind, there's two categories of print profiles for these machines -- Bambu Lab profiles, and Generic profiles. If the filament isnt one that I purchased from Bambu Lab itself, or doesnt have that Bambu Lab label, I'm not using the dedicated tuned profile specifically made for Bambu Lab products... That should solve all the complaints and issues regarding bad prints with non-BL filaments! The generic profiles will just slow things down to a reasonable rate that the 'other brands' are more reasonable to run at. BL does not manufacturer their own filament. They contract out the production to another company -- and the company they go with has changed several times over the last few months, depending on the supply chain...
So i couldnt decide where to write this for u to see it, since youre in touch with some of the manufacturers of spools why are they making them a one piece since you already pay too much for it, it only makes sense for spools to be like that if youre producing it but as it is now you cant put refills on them unless you weave it over from another spool..failing to see how is it not wasteful when its not a plastic bottle that u get a return for it since it costs 5 euros..honestly a stupid standard because someone has to say it..why would i have to print my own 2-piece refill spool wing attachments if plastic spools exist? Do sellers refund for the plastic spools like plastic bottles do???
Also discovered that there isnt a spool size standard either that if u want to use a spesific spool in a dryer you have to spool transfer the whole roll over to it...someone said that bambu had unique size standard so are they trying to have special size standard to feel like apple powerplay kind of special? Whoever keeps producing out of standard spools should be denied to stay in production because universal standard helps everyone, and if anyones gonna hate me over it then ironically enough LLT has mentioned similar things about universal standard breakoffs over usb connection to a hdmi connection, everyone trying to build their own bubble for customers to depend on their products over a single connection, this is why EU forced a usb c standard on apple..so it blows my mind that 3D manufacturers are encouraging waste production when 3D printin is supposed to be about recycleability..as a newcomer to printing, thats sad to see that we are not coming together against it as a community..
It would be awesome if you could cut the music by half, if not off altogether. It doesn't add value to your videos. We're here to listen to you, not distracting music.
Ooooohhhh. I love surprise filament from companies.

Wish I saw this last week right before I destroyed a hot end on my A1 with Glow in the dark.

Great work, loved the video.
You sound like a thoughtful person. I've enjoyed watching your content. Keep up the awesome work.

Thank you so much ☺️ I’m glad you’re here!
First skulls, then dragons! What’s next? Heavy Metal music? 🤣🤣 I love your channel! Thanks for taking us along.
Hahaha I'm scared of what's to come. I'm becoming so hard core 🤣🤣
For your flat beach scene... Print it standing up (like a lithophane) with the gradient filament...then you'll get the effect you want... You'll need supports and a brim to pull it off
Or you can print it at 45 degrees for a similar effect
Thanks for the shout out! I love the creativity on this channel. Good stuff!

Bummer! I'm glad you like them, though!
Digging the color-change silk filament! I think for those pumpkins, I'd give adaptive layer height a shot... I find that helps me a lot when I'm printing models with steeper angles/curves.
True! I didn't even think of that. I'll definitely try again and see if that helps.
Oh cool, I was just looking at your channel yesterday wondering if I missed a video. Nice to see you. Really like your prints.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you’re here :) I try to post every 2 weeks or so, hoping to do more soon!

Super lucky!
I use Sunlu filaments myself.. Love them...
But i go through so much of it, and struggle with money to keep stocked 😂
Make sure you are taking the lid off if your printing pla on the p1s
I just bought some SUNLU it was transparent blue and it was pretty good stuff.
I bought that for my Christmas video last year! I liked it a lot. It’s the only transparent color I ended up fully using up. The others are just sitting in a storage box.
Try the name plate standing? I think that would be very nice. maybe some support will be needed?
I might try this next time. Thanks for the idea!
For the overhang speeds, change the "over 100% walls" from 24mm/s to 10
Regarding flushing, you can flush into infill too? Might help?
Yeah I didn’t think of that. I would be still be slightly worried about the black showing through but maybe not.
@@macymakes3d It's possible with the glow in the dark, but since that's the purge model, I think the whole point is it to be as funky as possible.
Love your videos. You need to invest in video lightning. Keep the great work
you should try dual color filament, thats collored side by side, so it change from the start
I'll definitely add it to the list of filaments to try out!
Great Video Macy
Thank you 😊 glad you’re here!

@@macymakes3d thanks I'll try that out. Would like to make some flexi and articulating creatures for my grandchildren that I live with.

I’ve got hardened nozzles on the ones I printed the glow with. I haven’t converted them all to hardened yet but a couple are good to go.

Hi, just wondering what print speed you use for your business prints, in regards to the 4 Bambu speed settings?
Whatever the standard speed is. I do slow down some individual settings for different filaments but I don’t change the overall setting.

Hahahaha nooooo! True for the prints, but surely not for you lol :)
Do you use bambu studio for your slicer? Or which slicer do you use?
Yes bambu studio.
How do I get mystery boxes? I love mysteries!
Was just thinking same thing.
how much filament do you have there? any plan to move to the big rolls? 2.5kg?
No plans right now. I do too much multi color printing and I’m sure they wouldn’t fit in the AMS.
so Ok, im figuring this out in real time too. I believe 0 mm/s (10%, 25%) means between 10 and 25% it will not slow down, 50mm/s (25%, 50%) means it will run at 50mm/s between 25 and 50%. I could be wrong, but that's what I'm gathering from it
Yep, that's what I'm thinking too. Weird but I guess it works lol.
You also never know that the color transition will happen for the ENTIRE top layer...it could transition halfway through the top layer...
What software do you use to make your name plates, I would like to make some for my teachers
I use adobe illustrator but there are free options that you could use also.
@@macymakes3d ok thank you
Could you rotate the nameplates 90 degrees so that the color gradient goes across the front, instead of across the top?
I would need to use supports but it’s possible and cool to think about, thanks for the idea. I’ll try it sometime soon!
3D print some flowers to the vase.
That would be a cool project! Maybe soon :)
