Despite the entire ordeal and a half you guys had on your trip, it's nevertheless great to hear you enjoyed yourself at AX! Although I'm with Lando, you may have to glue or otherwise attach the wallet to Connor. I'm really sorry to hear that happened, the test in particular seemed like it was supposed to help even if it didn't in the end. Not to mention the 7 hour delay on your flight... Oof. But friends always come through in the end! Happy to have heard they chimed in in getting our commander back in one piece. The entire glizzy saga sounded like an epic tale, Professor gave me the impression he was under the corndog spell the way he wouldn't stop thinking about it. Wouldn't be the podcast unless you talked about food anyways, the corndog Lando described reminds me of how we eat our pancakes over where I live - they're thinner here and aside from the sweet variant, we also eat them hearty. As in, with sausage or even cream cheese topped with salmon pieces and rolled up. Incredibly delicious! Though, they are naturally different. And Tanner's story with the cashier... If it weren't for the cashier saying "It's 20 cents, you're good" I would've said it's no big deal but that was outright cheeky, he should've gotten his change back. Multiplayer games have been on the decline lately that's true, I feel you had more to choose from in the past while nowadays there's a bigger focus on that single player experience you mentioned. Kind of sad, seeing how playing together can be extremely fun... While I don't have too many recommendations that may be up to your tastes, I can say that giving stuff like Mario Party is always worth a shot and even Stardew Valley is fun if played with multiple people (for some reason I can see Connor getting mad over Stardew though)! You'll be sure to eventually find the games that best suit your get-togethers. Even if your tastes are vastly different, that's the core piece! You can share your different gaming experiences and views on the ones you play, it's all about the enjoyment you feel. I'm also with Lando on gacha games, while they are the embodiment of evil sometimes there's nothing more satisfying than saving up for your fave and when you manage to pull that character it's like Christmas and your birthday on the same day because your hard work paid off. Also shoutout to Connor's Animal Crossing fishing box ring basement, that sounds like it was the heart of the entire game I would have loved to see that. The Rick and Morty impression were hilarious as heck! I do feel you on the topic of crushes stemming from when you were younger, somehow I believe it's because they serve as someone you admired at that age or in other cases as an awakening to what you perhaps want to see in someone even if that might be somewhat of a stretch. Or it really is just a case of thinking "this character pretty" when it comes to cartoon and anime ones. Really great listen, enjoyed your usual banter and energy during this epsiode! It had a very good flow the way you talked about each topic. Looking forward to the next one!

It depends on what you mean by multiplayer, do you mean PvP, PvE, co-op campaign, local versus, there's tons of kinds of multiplayer. If you guys need a multiplayer game where someone has to suffer why not just play something like Monopoly or Pummel Party?

I don't know what it is with HoYo Games' launcher but downloading their game requires extracting an entire zip file of the game which is far bigger than what the game really is. In reality, ZZZ is 50gb (which is still high but what gacha game isn't these days?) but the extraction process needs over a hundred gigabytes of your storage to deliver the game to your system. It's really weird. I wish i had downloaded it from GooglePlay's beta pc launcher. That might have saved me at least a dozen gigabytes instead of carrying 50gb

I really like the game Eternal Return! It's kind of a LOT when you first are starting, but I think it's super fun especially when you start to get a hang of it. Omega Strikers is also fun, it's kinda like.. League air hockey? Both games have a lot of fun characters and abilities, but they are unfortunately three player games. Also even though you can't play *with* a group of six in Eternal Return, running two teams isn't actually that unfun (it's eight teams of three.. battle royale style? idk it's the only battle royale I've ever had fun with so don't judge it on that imo- Apex in particular is one I tried and felt similarly boomer in).

If you bastards are looking for games that have hatred and seething, yet are relaxing, yet have minmax, yet can have like people hopping in and out, I think you want Mario Party-like games. 100 Orange Juice is cheap and on steam and has character unlocks. If you guys play with some sort of forfeit I think that could put like some incentive to actually win. How the fuck are we going to recommend games when they literally sit at opposite sides of the spectrum. Competitive, realistic, malding vs Cutesy, grinding, chill, gacha. Maybe it's best that you guys just both agree to play something that's Overwhelmingly Positive on steam but both go in blind. No Terraria.

In regard to the 'tell us some games to play', if you want something like League but without the pressure I'd recommend Heroes of the Storm. Connor will still have plenty of opportunities to get angry but it's generally more on the fun side compared to the strictness of League or the complexity of Dota, plus for Lando's benefit you get to play as Overwatch characters without having to touch Overwatch.

Lesson learnt, never leave Connor alone, for any extent of time. Hahaha. But I do get his food takes. When it comes to the fair I don't really eat the food there either, even when I went to the SoCal medieval fair. The toasty hot cinnamon mini donuts are the exception. That being said I've only ever visited Santa Monica, Malibu, Bev Hills, Hollywood and Disney/Universal when I was in SoCal. I have yet to have the LA experience. I can get what you both mean about the multiplayer experience. I used to play the James Bond games and Perfect Dark series (sniper type) with my bro for hrs. Recapturing that magic is difficult because it's hard to find that perfect balance of rage/cozy casual, our age friendly, file size and that new player min. There are so many games with stunning art I would love to play but file size is the large wall nowadays. All because physical copies of games are starting to be phased out. Magician girl and Dark Magician were my favorites in classic Yugioh. I liked Vrains because of the edgy darkness and the dot hack like feel. My feel on games as long as you are having fun and enjoying the story that is what matters. I get what you both mean about celeb crushes being a younger self thing. 36:55: You guys are going for the wrong multiplayer games! Battlefield 2042 isnt the best one to get into, i would REALLY recommend Battlefield 1 instead as its much more fun. But honestly dont play super competitive games when you are looking for a fun time with friends, try cooperative PVE games! I mean i understand what hes getting at but its kinda a part of the game design. Like everything in the souls series builds this atmospheric story telling where you are constructing the story from the pices of information you can gleam with environmental context clues Both stories happen at different periods of time and have different themes present. Darksouls is takes place long after the history of these beings was truly known. So the remaining people who aren't batshit insane are trying to use these esoteric pieces and weld them together into something meaningful. Elden ring takes place after these places have fallen into ruin but not long enough prior to have forgotten their true history or the one that was told. That doesnt even mention how immortality works in both series. In dark souls each time you die you lose small parts of yourself until you are beef jerky man, the hallowing process is not just a physical deterioration but a mental one. Compared to the lands between where effectively everyone is immortal because queen marika removed the rune of death. Its easier to remember your history if you cant truly die. Honestly the story of souls goes as deep or as surface level as you want it and you are intended to draw your own conclusions its what makes good art good art. I think fromsoft storytelling can be summed up be the quote from LOTR "And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth" I mean dark souls 3 has some really peak stories like pontiff sulyvhan who is the closest thing to an antagonistic force in the souls series. For example its hinted at that he comes from the painted world of ariamis which suffered from the rot of the real world in a much more magnified version. It is hinted at he wanted to find a new way to continue the world outside of burning all the old lords. His weapons are a version of the profaned flame which is similar to the fire of izaleth which birthed demons. And the absyall greatsword which harness the power of the darksoul which is the power of humanity. He experimented on his knights to build an force to prepare for this new world. He feed gwndolyn the darkmoon to a being that was a manifestation of the abyss itself. He rose through the ranks in lothric and would eventually come to convince the lord of lothric to forsake their duty in service in bringing a dark age. For his service he was given control of iryathill. From a gameplay perspective his region is the only one that directly connects you to two of the lords of cinder and he is arguably more fearsome than both yorhm and aldrich. Now half of this you can gleam from in game items the other is from speculation and drawing conclusions from in game info Both have differing story telling elements neither is better than the other each fit the setting the story telling of their worlds
