What's funny is that I don't agree with the whole "video games are bad now" thing, but I'm sure if I played the games you guys are playing I would absolutely agree with it.
What I realized is that I don't hate videogames, I hate multiplayer videogames, especially the PVP ones.
Single Player games, even new ones, can still be good.
Absolutely agree. All these multiplayer games with loot boxes and season passes and paid skins are dogshit and make you so freaking mad to play, but I feel like we're in the best place in history when it comes to availability of fantastic single player games. I have more 9 and 10/10 single player games than I know what to do with

I'm being genuine, and I'm not very familiar with Lando's history of content, but after like 5-10 of making videos or livestreaming is that what helps you enjoy gaming is the pressure of making content.
I feel so seen! I'm also afraid of escalators like Lando. I fine with them until age 15 and then I was terrified for no logical reason.
There has been a recorded death in China (I believe) from an escalator. Don't look up the video, but the escalator collapsed as a woman was about to get off.
I love Connor and Lando being on a reading journey. I highly recommend shopping used books/manga or going to local bookstores to avoid spending so much at BN! Even libraries nowadays carry manga
Oh how I relate to Lando too. I'm 3 quarters Cantonese and 1 quarter British but when I go into Chinatown they expect me to understand the language. That extends to the experience at the hairdresser where the introvert side kicks in and we stretch the truth a little. Either by mishearing or by just to make the conversation/presumptions pleasant for the other person. I have experienced a similar situation to Connor (you're welcome for the Yuri clarification) in the manga section. I am guilty of going for aesthetics too and I picked up Happy Sugar Life based on the art alone. I take it home and find out it was a horrific series with the most twisted/torture content.
I gave myself bad night terrors because I was tricked by the cute! Which is exasperated by the book prices, yes. OMG, and Fall Guys?! The video game hatred is real now if Connor lost the love for that. I was about to suggest tennis arc again but I refrain after hearing the story about Kane as I do want you both to live for a very VERY long time! I can understand both sides of the gaming argument. Connor is NOT the crafting JRPG type not in the slightest iota and the group is the opposite.
It's hard to find the perfect balance to keep everyone happy. He's all about the aesthetics and character creation otherwise even if he has to brute force a game. He thrives in the gratification from it. If the question ever comes for content outside of gaming. I think you should do what makes you happy. Zatsu, slice of life, react content etc. If you are enjoying yourself we can enjoy ourselves too. I like hanging out with you because of who you both are as people and the similarities shared. Even fears, including the psychic vibes. It scares me when those ESP moments hit and they hit often. But yeah, I love the shared sense of humor.

You could try some board games, there are so many different dynamics that you could maybe enjoy. My personal recommendation would be catan, I have played a milion times and I don't get bored because it's always different, and there are also different modes that you can play with a bunch of people. It has the crafting and building part that Lando likes, but you also compete and fight and get angry with others like Connor likes. You could even play it on discord itself... I don't know, maybe give it a try... or ignore me, that's also an option.
And for fuck sake, is Connor gonna get a black eye from a pie!!! It was kinda redish...

This is actually what I did LOL,, I was bored of being online so I helped my bro out with this service project painting journals and I was really happy having something to do with purpose

Spotted that Connor's mic has a sticker too now, it looks great! Hairdresser appointments (and to me, also dentist appointments) feeling like an interrogation as if you're sitting on the chair and the light from the lamp blinding you seems like a universal experience. The not listening then agreeing and having to make up an excuse to get out of the situation culminating in never going back to that hairdresser ever again got me laughing quite a bit. Never would've guessed the story to have lasted an entire day, that's quite the achievement. And while books are expensive, owning a physical copy adds this special magic because you can hold the book as well as flip the pages. Not that e-readers don't have their merits, being the owner of one myself they're handy when you're out on a commute and don't want to carry a heavy book in your bag. I wholeheartedly agree with reading to help expand on knowledge, it helped me improve on overall writing, vocabulary and grammar for instance. So do enjoy delving into books, there's nothing but advantages even if it's a yuri manga you bought by chance thinking it was something else!
Professor cooked with Jorbjorb's Bizarre Alienventure, I'm unfamiliar with JoJo itself but that sounded like it will definitely happen at some point in any way or form. With Connor on game companies taking their time to develop new games; they should ensure enough time is spent creating these. A system of taking turns to pick out games to play each week sounds constructive and good to me, adds variety, you get to try out games you never would have played before! Also agreeing with the part about character creation + customization in games, it's a great part of enjoyment not to mention plain fun to imagine what your character would look like in that particular universe. Plus, walking around in style is a huge bonus, there's nothing wrong with having drip. 😎✨️ While I see the argument of graphics being important to video games (and I adore a visually pleasing world as well as characters), I would also say that gameplay itself is just as important - without gameplay you cannot fully enjoy a game, right? In the end, it's to each their own though!
The question corner this time around stuck out to me, your answers were definitely well thought of. Alltogether had a great flow, the conversation kept going while you tried figuring out what moms would like about you guys or what fickle little beasts dreams can be etc. The ending also made me wheeze so hard, how Lando kept missing his shots only to get pie all over Connor's shirt - perfect aim. 😂 Always a great time listening to you two go back and forth, very excited to see what'll come next!

Sounds like you guys need to dig around for some indie games. Only issue is that it can be hard to find ones you'll really like because they don't have the advertising tech. Also I know you guys said no fighting games but Connor seems like the type that would really enjoy it if he found the right one and not break his teeth in rage when he loses.
I second this! never count out fighting games o7 they're most fun specially when everyone is on equal playing level. I think Guilty Gear Strive's Metal-ish/Gothic-esque esthetic would fit Connor, plus it's a simple enough fighting game to just pick up and have fun with
@@r0ckdabeat Strive is also working on that 3v3 mode so it might be the best choice to get more people to play. I think Tekken could also be good because the 3D aspects might translate well to a Souls player and the buttons are more intuitive. You can also dress your guy up lol

Also Connor I'm sure you've heard this a lot, but seriously please schedule at least one appointment with a therapist. You've talked a lot about not understanding yourself and why you can't enjoy certain things and I think you need to vent to someone who is professionally trained to help with those kinds of stresses. Maybe it'll feel like a waste of time, but at least you'll have tried to help yourself.

last time i replayed world i just got the nexusmods for skipping cutscenes so we could play faster LMAO. The not being able to immediately jump with your friends into fights thing was my least favorite aspect too.
Honestly I think if connor puts a bit more time into Terraria he'll end up enjoying it, mostly cuz it's not as "planting tomato's-ish" as other survival games. Terraria is more like, build house, go explore, find cool sword that shoots lasers, beat boss, find dungeon, find cool weapon that makes explosions, go to hell, beat boss, so on and so forth
I can completely understand Connor's loss of enthusiasm for the game because I feel the same way.

Connor's description of his dreams doesn't sound like lucid dreaming to me. When I have lucid dreams, I'm 100% in control of them and I can change the setting at will. If a big monster was chasing me in a lucid dream, I would just make it disappear and put myself on the beach instead.

I know you said not to leave any more game suggestions, but I noticed that in the recent group gaming stream you posted you found Tabletopia I'm a games design student and we use that program to make games so I wanted to tell you a bit more about it as I think it could be a good option for you!
Pros:
-it's free
-can be played on web (no downloading for Cain)
-has a wide variety of games to browse from
-you're playing games from indie game developers/games design students
Cons:
-not a lot of shooty pew pew violent games that Connor seems to like
-almost too much option, can be hard to find a game on there that you'll enjoy
I hope you can find something on there to play! If anyone sees this and has any suggestions for Tabletopia games or knows more about it than I do, please feel free to reply to this comment with suggestions!
What Connor needs to do in Monster Hunter is to fight some Monsters on his own to get familiar with the game. Getting carried is the worst feeling you can have in Monster Hunter. So him getting use to the game solo AND watching a video tutorial on the weapon will help. Especially Long Sword. If he's not someone who enjoys doing parries and reading the monster to do those counters, he should play a different weapon.
Connor should also just go into the training room and try every single weapon. He might like Gunlance, or Great Sword. But I think everyone will like Monster Hunter once they find the weapon they like and actually learn it.
Soo, when Connor comes back with a black eye, we know why, I guess. Congrats, boys, this was fun as usual!

been kinda struggling with gaming too, i agree. the gang has picked up magic the gathering tho and that has been pog. MTG commander is a 4 player format that is pretty RNG based so even if you play with the same 100 card decks, it's incredibly unlikely the game will play out exactly the same (^.^) i couldn't get into yu gi oh, i just have 2 starter decks lmao.

the problem with early game mhw is they made it so much easier by giving the new players defender weapons and with the guardian armor set you dont really feel the monster's attacks which made dodging/parrying more irrelevant there's like no more sense of danger = no challenge = boring but it doesn't mean I agree with Connor tho but I understand

I personally agree with Lando about the difficulty. I've done all sorts of crazy challenge runs in Elden Ring but MHW end-game is still kicking my ass even with the most optimal shit I can muster.

I feel like Connor could enjoy end-game FF14, it's difficult but in a rhythm game-like manner, the hard part is learning the boss patterns but once you do you're good.

I totally agree with Lando on the point that Monster Hunter: World is really like a SoulsLike game and I've been telling that people for years now! Especially the late game monsters like Arch Tempered Lunastra, Extreme Behemoth, Fatalis, Alatreon and Tempered Furious Rajang (faqing monkey) are on par in terms of difficulty with some of the tough bosses from the Souls series. Monster Hunter just switches the grimm world of Souls games with equipment farming/crafting and adds a more structured multiplayer mode.
It's nothing like a souls game. The feeling is just completely different. It's just really tedious. Not hard, tedious. That's not fun.
@@sanictheedgehog Yeah, it's not a souls like. Dark Souls is a Monster Hunter-like. Dodge rolls with some I-frames, attacks you have to fully commit while managing stamina. I'm 100% sure FromSoft took direct inspiration from Monster Hunter games. And if you think MH is tedious and not fun than I seriously believe you never put any meaningful time into it.
