Hearing them hype up the pizza and knowing that when they came back they were like "it's the most mid shit disappointing pizza I've ever had" is super funny
Lando's character arc from "I'm scared of NYC, people will just tell you to get the fuck out of the way" to "get the fuck outta my way! Jesus!" Is hilarious, but the retroactive reveal that he was scared is cinema
The gay mime musical was the highlight this episode FOR SURE ! I was worried the professor would get snubbed today hhh Also I get Connor on the wanting to buy things but never buying them...that has literally been me with getting a haircut... it's been like a year now I think omg...
"The burger is so big, we gotta conquer this." I know how that feels - hungry but appetite not large enough to finish the whole meal 😅 From the Breaking Bad scenario you guys painted, it's more of Breaking Back. Thanks for the musical ideas, someone is stealing those as we speak (and you guys can play a horse in one of the musicals). Thanks for the fun podcast! Welcome back from NYC!
Most musicals are essentially a story and then there's songs in between them, but Hamilton is what we call a sung through musical where everything is a song and that's usually done to keep the momentum going. Otherwise it would probably be 3 hours of a history lesson lol
-Ok, i've never had a deep dish pizza, how exactly are you supposed to fit this in your mouth, its freaking huge -I also finish the burger first before eating the fries, but not for the same reason as Connor does LOL 38:56 You can watch the exact moment when Connor's childhood dies before his eyes
Imagine Connor's boss battle: *player enters boss room* *Cutscenes starts and screen gets dark for a second* *Lights come back with the cutscene cutting to zoom at Connor's imposing image as he sits on his throne from below giving the impression he's huge and frightening* *He gets up from his throne and grabs his weapon, getting on a battle pose towards the player* *Camera zoom out and the throne is actually 2ft tall*
Welcome home from NYC Connor and Lando. (^o^)/ I'm glad you guys experienced the big apple all together as a group like the locals. It's the best way to enjoy a trip in my humble opinion. That being said I eat the higher priced item first at meals and segment my plate too. If it IS weird then I kind of embrace it? With pizza, being a west coaster Pizza hut is the quintessential childhood experience. Schools would bribe us with free pizza from the Hut(any type) to read copious amounts of books. I favor a simpler pizza where the ingredients are the star. Be it a pepperoni, a simple cheese or a spinach. So I guess I am a fan of European flatbread style overall after all these years. Fresh. On musicals. Like I stated before Gene Kelly was my hero and I've always enjoyed musical theatre. My favorites? Singing in the Rain, Take me out to the Ball Game, Brigadoon and An American in Paris. An adjacent would be White Christmas. I would definitely watch the musical you both produce if or when you do. Mimes would be hilarious! Mr. Rogers did a musical play about cows once and one about a giraffe with a short neck. The subject matter is so limitless. Hearing about the experiences from fellow creatives and even getting involved is so enriching! As for Toys R Us it is a rarity still only just coming back. We have one on Vancouver island that is two floors paired with HMV (another rarity music store). There really ISN'T a feeling that matches going to a physical store and checking out the merch in person. Especially to see how they arrange the store and the big displays. Both locally and in different locations on trips. I hope you dedicate an episode to your experiences in NY. I would love to hear those stories and find out if it is how you thought it would be or how you remember it (for Connor). On the topic of horses. We still have horse racing, and horse drawn carriage tours. There is also therapeutic horse clinics where patients ride them to help heal their mental and physical illnesses. It was hilarious to picture you both in the horse costume with that in mind. Have either of you ridden an actual horse? Or did you have a chance to ride in Central Park? It'd be interesting to hear your experiences with them. It was neat to hear your shopping tastes and have the validation that it isn't a foreign feeling to NOT want to buy something that doesn't speak to you. Even IF you need it. I'm very guilty of that too. XDD Does pie on the top of the head count? I am guessing yes. Oh Connor. I feel for you having to wash up. Hahaha.
I mostly agree with what Connor's saying about eating things one at a time, although I'm not sure if I eat burger before fries or fries before burger, the order I eat would never depend on price though. You literally lose zero dollars by not finishing a meal, you just eat it later. If anything you're SAVING money by not being able to finish it all and having food for later and regardless I'd never order something from a fast food restaurant that I couldn't finish. At an actual restaurant, I would almost always expect leftovers if it was in America, because portion size is different than the rest of the world.
14:56 honestly I’m with Connor on this, I always finish my burger first than eat my fries. But also I don’t like different tastes mixed together in my mouth lol, I need multiple plates just to eat a meal at home. my family called me a freak growing up
i get the whole eating the most expensive thing first but as a college kid on a budget i must say that a to go box and an air fryer/microwave go a long way…that’s another meal for later (example: there’s an asian fusion place near me where a meal (like pad thai and rice) is like $15-18 but they give you so much food that i can basically get some for my lunch and have enough leftover to have a satisfactory amount leftover for dinner later)
First/// I agree with Connor in his eating habits. I eat the more expensive things first, or I will buy one item cause I feel bad about something (idk what I just feel bad about spending money)
@@Ameutetbh if you have an air fryer (or are willing to put them in the oven bc fyi air fryers are basically tiny convection ovens) you can reheat the fries while keeping them crispy and not soggy like they would be in the microwave
Lando being the best in jest this epi is wholly deserved, the musical talk had me dying 🤣 That grub and deep dish pizza comparison was crazy tho 😵Rlly liked the questions, your answers were so good, my fav had to be the jrpg loot drops 🌭🍭
My first musical theater experience in person was Hadestown and it was totally worth seeing in person (For stage transformations/how the actors carry themselves around the stage). I'd definitely go in person again to a different performance, it hits different than watching on a dvd/youtube.
one of the cool parts about seeing musicals live is the different casts. It's a different experience every time though it can be sad sometimes when you like a certain cast or member more than other showings 😂 When I saw Hamilton I ended up loving Peggy's voice more than the original so it's disappointing hearing the actual song sometimes lol
6:45 , with the whole Pizza and location thing that Connor is talking about - I've had pizza from Flordia, and it wasn't like a Dominos/Pizza Hut kinda one where they get the dough from the company's dough factory so it all tastes mostly the same. A lot of what plays into how it tastes is gonna be the water makeup for that area, and at least in the Ft. Myers area of Flordia the water is just disgusting(so the pizza I had in FL was....blegh). I haven't been outside of the tristate-NY area(aside from Flordia) to see how Chicago's crusts taste, but the water table here and it's mineral makeup help out with the crust..and I'd imagine the sauce? Though the sauce can still be bad at a mom and pop store if they use too much damn sugar. Also, Sicilian-style pizza is freaking amazing depending on where you get it. I haven't had deep dish to comment on it, but I feel like it'd be just too much for me. When it comes to how to eat like breakfast/dinner when it comes to the mains and sides...I'm with Connor at least with the breakfast and mixing it up. Cutting a piece of french toast with a little syrup and putting a piece of bacon on it is just A+. With lunch or dinner...if I'm eating out I still kinda mix it up, but I'm not afraid of asking my leftovers to go. I do prioritize the meat/main of it though.
Close enough, welcome back Sonic and Shadow! The outfits were quite on point, it checked out. And if I'm not mistaking, Lando was pulling Sonic's pose from the Sonic Adventure 2: Battle art. He nailed it! With that in tow, nothing should ever bar you from debuting your very own musical! NYC is something of a magical place to visit, I hope you had a fun trip! The way Lando talked about what he knew about the city and everything else mentioned made me remember my own time there nearly a decade ago and even though it might have changed, it's such a lively, bustling place filled with people! That being sad, food can look the same yet be so different in taste depending on the place you eat it at - at least, that's the impression your pizza discussion gave me and that's what makes tasting it wherever you are to find out these differences so exciting. On that note, I'd heard of cheese being used as a standalone ingredient for pizza before but not that it was so common in NYC! Also, a thin, crunchy crust is where it's at with pizza - simply delicious. I could relate to eating the larger portion of a meal first with your appetite not being enough to finish everything, sometimes you end up too stuffed to continue with the rest and have to take the rest home to eat later or leave it as is. Your whole musical talk was my favorite part of this week's episode considering I am a huge fan of them myself! Some personal faves I've seen growing up in German where The Lion King too as well as Aladdin, the latter was particularly fantastic to me. There's also Dance of the Vampires but I'm unsure about whether that is still played anywhere. Whatever ideas you cooked up, be it from the musical about dudes starting a podcast with the chairs being a constant while the background changes to match the scene, to Lando's space opera and Connor's psychologically upsetting piece to the mime musical where the mime actors build their sets - each one sounded better than the next, I could vividly picture the set building gestures for the mimes in my mind which made it more hilarious. Mr. Miranda better watch out! Will keep "Across the Universe" Lando mentioned in mind, that sounds like it'd be a great watch! And true, musical tickets can be pricey though I'd wager it depends on which one it is and where your seat is located exactly. Very much agreed that there are a ton of movies that would work perfectly as musical adaptions although segwaying from a Planet of the Apes one to Minions simply because of the banana aspect made me laugh so hard. 😂 With how often you've mentioned Phantom of the Opera, it only makes me want to try go and see it even more since I'm only familiar with the movie adaptions and not the original musical but it's a gorgeous piece nevertheless! Breaking Bad impression were a solid 10/10, you could make your own version no problem. From an RPG enjoyer point of view, I liked the answers you gave to that first question! It was interesting to hear you create items corresponding to your personalities; the contrast of Connor's boss fight being darker while the items he dropped were colorful and bright fit the image. Makes me wonder how exactly the stat boots could be used to your advantages in a playthrough. No matter if the glizzy Lando drops turns you into a good ol' glass cannon or the glasses made it easier to attract enemies, there's bound to be a way to employ their characteristics to match your party set-up! Valid point made on whether ocean exploration vs. space exploration would yield more results, I feel that while the ocean offers stimulating discoveries, space can give the same in the case of its vastness if it isn't restricted to finding more planets only. Meanwhile horses are still used to some degree, they pull carriages and appear in sports. However you managed to derail to who'd be a better horse is a mystery to me, the horse impression weren't half bad and if you were to put on a horse costume, I'm sure you'd make a fine one. Huge relatability with Connor for wanting to buy things and never doing it because he forgets, it's like that for me most of the time too. 😅 You say it out loud, do not want to forget but when the time comes it leaves your mind like a gust of wind just blew through your brain, sending it out and away. What an ending to the episode by the way, the move to give Connor a new hat made me lose it to the point I started coughing once the laughing stopped. He looked so dejected, I couldn't. 🤣 Thanks for the smiles as usual, welcome back again from your trip and see you the next episode! c:
The sadness I felt when they went thru the Planet of the Apes Musical concept, and neither commented about the Simpsons parody of that with some of the most quotable lines/songs from Troy McClure. (Old problems)
Honestly If I had to guess based on appearances, I don't know if I would place Lando as someone who lives on the West Coast, maybe Canada though. Speaking of Canada, Toys'R'Us is still a thing there and it also reopened in some malls in the US a year or two ago, but it's smaller and different.
agree with the eating food items 1 by 1 thing, especially if ur saving the best tasting thing for last. mixing just feels wrong also toys r us isn't totally gone!! it still exists in canada. they had a lil period where they were also shut down along with the others but then it was picked back up
Lando's item drops seem broken, you give the glasses to your tank, give the hot dog to your DPS and just destroy the last boss in one hit (this is assuming Lando isn't the last boss, but a secret boss). I'm curious what their boss names would be if they were Dark Souls Bosses, some kind of epithet like Connor the Fearful and Lando, Vengeful Professor.
With October on the way, and if you can find a copy, you can check out the South Park lads' foray into musicals with their student film: 'Cannibal! The Musical' Low budget, but an early example of their signature humor with their friend group acting in all of the roles. Perhaps some inspiration for your own musical. Hope ya'll have a shpadoinkle day!
While I don’t really click with the money part, I 100% feel Connor on having to eat the burger first. The burger is the main course, the “star” of the meal, so it feels wasteful to fill up on the fries, a side-dish. It’s the fast food version of getting full on appetizers before dinner.
NGL if Connor was a RPG character, I would go so fast for his Fit drop. If he was a BG3 Boss, even if he could be a redeemable companion, I would need those boots and the frilly shirts on early game, sorry.
Completely agree with Connor on the burger thing. I'd always leave the cheapest part for last or the most caloric one that would fill me up faster... Even though I rarely leave anything on the plate
I listen to the podcast on spotify, but the episode hasn't been uploaded there yet. Is it some problem on my end,or did the episode just not get uploaded yet?
Aren't fries kind of ephemeral to be leaving them for last tho ?? You can eat left over burger but left over fries are just not good...they get all soggy :
I always feel weird as someone who lives in Las Vegas when people complain about food in Las Vegas because we have a little of everything. The only real complaint is the prices are often much higher than other places because of that variety. If you had bad pizza I feel like you didn't go to many places.
If Connor was an rpg boss, he would probably drop a fantasy version of his wallet when you defeat him.
Connor's so real for eating the most expensive stuff first. Gotta make sure the fries are the last thing left
Nah dude, fries first then savor the best part for last XD

With October on the way, and if you can find a copy, you can check out the South Park lads' foray into musicals with their student film: 'Cannibal! The Musical'
Low budget, but an early example of their signature humor with their friend group acting in all of the roles.
10:06 Lando has never heard of a cheese pull before... 🤢
I would pay very good money for the professor to watch Hamilton.
What you do with the horse?
Depend on how hungry you are.
NGL if Connor was a RPG character, I would go so fast for his Fit drop. If he was a BG3 Boss, even if he could be a redeemable companion, I would need those boots and the frilly shirts on early game, sorry.

Connor, have you seen Evil Dead the Musical? A+
Chicken pizza is a guilty pleasure because I know my ancestors would disown me if they knew I liked it.
Anyways Lando's opinion on pizza is invalid.
Was a mistake on our part! Should be up now and every episode should be released at the same time, normally.
@@thebestinjest Alright,great. Thanks!
