Imagine picking up a wallet and finding out that it belonged to the guy from V for Vendetta.
Petition to have Kane pie whoever talks about food the longest for every episode moving forward.
That would end in the dynamic we saw last episode, where both just start laughing uncontrollably whenever someone says something slightly adjacent to food xD
Dude needs a wallet chain.
Hell, it'd match his look, dude should one for style and function.
Imagine the drip....
I thought of that, but also remembered my ex who was a Nickelback stan did that too. Maybe just use a black lanyard type strap lol.
Episode 3: Mother of god we CANNOT talk about food
Episode 4: Corndog discourse
I read this as corndog disease and I think that makes it even better
The fact that Connor needs adult supervision irl is reassuring to me because I don't know what the psychopath inside him that is unleashed during gaming would do if he was a completely functioning adult.
Since Lando played league, I think now it's Connor's turn to play stardew. Hopefully, they will make a hunter-gatherer simulator multiplayer game soon. Thank you for the hilarious podcast
The thought that Lando COUNTS as adult supervision for anyone is kind of frightening lmao
Connor continues to astound mankind with how long he lived by forgetting to answer simple questions (how to spell his name).
Some people have cruddy immune systems, and honestly stress can affect it quite a bit. And Connor is legit a big ball of stress it seems LOL
At 9:02 you can literally see boyfailure extrordinaire's face turn red in real time. That's nuts. You know it's real.
I love the appeal from Connor "But what if it gives me hot girl tummy issues?"
"It's 20 cents, man, you're good." IN THIS ECONOMY?!
the way they both get so passionate... about food.
Connor having a problem with corn dogs and breakfast dogs but California rolls (the most American sushi) is astounding lmao
His pickiness is CRAZY
valheim or project zomboid sounds like that hypothetical game they're talkin about
Just got off zomboid, that shit is BORING alone
And v rising
Every time, 20 minutes in and fighting bcs food preferences like old married couple once again.
12:55 thank you gamersupps for sponsoring :)
i love another f word episode (the f stands for food)
Came in to hear about how your AX trip went, took poison damage for 50 minutes hearing video game takes, then heard Commander talk about his fish boxing ring from his youth. 10/10 podcast, would watch and argue with my computer screen again.
Connor be like "if food doesn't have a purpose in this world, if it was made without meaning, it doesn't deserve to be consumed"
In regard to the 'tell us some games to play', if you want something like League but without the pressure I'd recommend Heroes of the Storm. Connor will still have plenty of opportunities to get angry but it's generally more on the fun side compared to the strictness of League or the complexity of Dota, plus for Lando's benefit you get to play as Overwatch characters without having to touch Overwatch.
Yeah HoTS is a bit more accessible since you don't need to memorize all the items.
V from Vendetta is so accurate to describe Connor 😭
24:30 They definitely counted on Tanner not speaking up. I woulda got my 20 cents back, personally 😂.
27:20 Lando… that’s not how the immune system works AT ALL. You are so-
44:19 You can kill mobs in Minecraft.
Dude it's so crazy how common it is for people (including me, especially) to get so addicted to games that just piss you off like League, Valo, and Apex. Makes me think gamers are just naturally masochistic
I lost it at Connor calling gacha games ‘pyramid schemes’ 😭
Hes not wrong
I feel you guys on finding good games to play. My friend groups actually fall back to pre-online era - Tabletop Simulator lets you play all kinds of board games online - from MTG games to Catan to just drawing on the table.
now they even fight about food
I know they'd bounce off it super hard, but it would be incredibly funny to watch them navigate Civilization 6
your dream game of "PvP game but there's also just a Farmer role" reminds me of something I used to do in a Minecraft PvP server. the server created a pseudo-respawn timer type system by placing a ton of iron blocks inside the spawns and making you create your armor and weapons every time you died. so, instead of playing the PvP fights like a normal person, i would log on and spend every single match just mining blocks and creating armor and weapons for the rest of my team so that they could rejoin the fight faster.
basically what i'm saying is that i understand you Lando, and would play the hell out of the game you were describing if it was real.
The GASP I let out when Connor said ketchup was a shit condiment
the more i learn about the being that is connor, the more i realize why the world gave this man a twin.
so lando mentioned that all the best moments happen around food and that's like a huge part of dungeon meshi and he needs to read the whole thing please i'm begging
This is quickly becoming my favorite podcast. Connor being completely incapable of understanding why someone would eat pancake wrapped breakfast sausage if you weren’t putting syrup on it had me dying.
Games I'd recommend: sun haven
Bg3 or just straight up play some DND since Connor can be his violent little chaos gremlin self
Any of the monster proms are fun
Lesson learnt, never leave Connor alone, for any extent of time. Hahaha. But I do get his food takes. When it comes to the fair I don't really eat the food there either, even when I went to the SoCal medieval fair. The toasty hot cinnamon mini donuts are the exception. That being said I've only ever visited Santa Monica, Malibu, Bev Hills, Hollywood and Disney/Universal when I was in SoCal. I have yet to have the LA experience.
I can get what you both mean about the multiplayer experience. I used to play the James Bond games and Perfect Dark series (sniper type) with my bro for hrs. Recapturing that magic is difficult because it's hard to find that perfect balance of rage/cozy casual, our age friendly, file size and that new player min.
There are so many games with stunning art I would love to play but file size is the large wall nowadays. All because physical copies of games are starting to be phased out. Magician girl and Dark Magician were my favorites in classic Yugioh. I liked Vrains because of the edgy darkness and the dot hack like feel. My feel on games as long as you are having fun and enjoying the story that is what matters.
I get what you both mean about celeb crushes being a younger self thing. It was about admiring traits in them (Mine was Nick Carter). Thanks for the episode guys and glad you had an eventful time and are back safe and sound. The pie was deserved. Hahaha.
Hearing Connor say he doesn’t know who to cosplay as made me think, he should cosplay Captain Hook. Especially the version from the 2003 Peter Pan movie. That’s the first thing I thought of when I heard that.
You mentioned Terraria as a joke, but it might genuinely be what you guys are looking for. Although it does have sandbox building ala Minecraft, it's *primary* focus is on combat, class builds, and fighting bosses.
Especially if you use mods, like Calamity and The Stars Above (which you should use those two at minimum!)
I think you guys really should give it an honest go. It'll be a slow start, but it ramps up quickly. Plus it has the farming stuff to engage with if you want to, but it's not required. Oh, and play on Expert Mode at minimum.
Other games to check out that may be good; Deep Rock Galactic, Battlefield 1, Team Fortress 2 if you can find servers without bots, Abiotic Factor, Battlebit Remastered. Maybe Foxhole, but that's a hit or a miss.
As for single player games, primarily for Lando; Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld, Shadows of Doubt, any factory game like Factorio or Dyson Sphere Program. Those might interest you.
Honorable mention: Space Station 13. It's not really a multiplayer "game with your friends" kind of game, but more of a roleplay experience, possibly with friends. If you get the right server, at least.
Animal Crossing but more hardcore, sounds like he would like Cult of the Lamb.
I don’t care if anyone else has already commented on this… cos it’s important you actually watch and read those aircraft safety briefings 😭 ➡️ 11:25 that’s the brace position Connor 😭 if you have a row of seats in front you’re supposed to lean on the back of the seat with your head down, or if no seat in front then you lean all the way over and grasp your legs. It’s to prevent whiplash and also smashing your head against the chair in front in a sudden stop.
Also is digital ID something that’s available for you guys/in your state? Might be good as a backup if you’re going to make losing the wallet a habit…
LOL I didn’t even make it 15 mins yet - l’ll just edit this comment if I have anything else to add later.
at 6:40 when Lando says "The thing is .. it's my fault" I had instant deja vu as an adhder with a neurotypical spouse
What about sons of the forest or 7 days to die? You can play with multiple people, there's survival and resource gathering, you can kill things, and it's kinda horror-like sometimes. Seems like it's checks most of their boxes!
u guys should get into competitive farming simulator sounds like what u guys want
the problem is that there's tons of games for 4 people but once you hit 5+ it limits your options so much
On the topic of games to play, You can always go back to Mario Kart 8 it's still good, Mario party, pummel party.
Basically any party game gives a bunch of "downtime" where you can just chat with the boys and still be playing a game.
My meme answer is play Assassin's Creed Unity or Black Flag, it has multiplayer 💀
I think what Connor needs is a hater/nemesis in a voice chat when ever he need to play a game so he can focus his gamer rage on.
this podcast is great I never know what food they're gonna talk about next!
Glad you guys had fun at AX! Actually excited to hear about this multiplayer gaming arc, I could use some other things to play too.
My friends and I dig The Finals, but unfortunately I think it's 3 player squads most of the time. Fast paced FPS, very destructible environments with cool physics stuff. It aint for everyone but it's fun for short hop in rounds.
If you're wondering why ZZZ is 110 gigs
Lemme tell ya there's a LOTTA... physics
Also detailed af
As a Yugioh player, I hate Yugioh with a passion and yet I can't stop. Lando had the quintessential gameplay experience in those two hours
Despite the entire ordeal and a half you guys had on your trip, it's nevertheless great to hear you enjoyed yourself at AX! Although I'm with Lando, you may have to glue or otherwise attach the wallet to Connor. I'm really sorry to hear that happened, the test in particular seemed like it was supposed to help even if it didn't in the end. Not to mention the 7 hour delay on your flight... Oof. But friends always come through in the end! Happy to have heard they chimed in in getting our commander back in one piece. The entire glizzy saga sounded like an epic tale, Professor gave me the impression he was under the corndog spell the way he wouldn't stop thinking about it.
Wouldn't be the podcast unless you talked about food anyways, the corndog Lando described reminds me of how we eat our pancakes over where I live - they're thinner here and aside from the sweet variant, we also eat them hearty. As in, with sausage or even cream cheese topped with salmon pieces and rolled up. Incredibly delicious! Though, they are naturally different. And Tanner's story with the cashier... If it weren't for the cashier saying "It's 20 cents, you're good" I would've said it's no big deal but that was outright cheeky, he should've gotten his change back.
Multiplayer games have been on the decline lately that's true, I feel you had more to choose from in the past while nowadays there's a bigger focus on that single player experience you mentioned. Kind of sad, seeing how playing together can be extremely fun... While I don't have too many recommendations that may be up to your tastes, I can say that giving stuff like Mario Party is always worth a shot and even Stardew Valley is fun if played with multiple people (for some reason I can see Connor getting mad over Stardew though)! You'll be sure to eventually find the games that best suit your get-togethers. Even if your tastes are vastly different, that's the core piece! You can share your different gaming experiences and views on the ones you play, it's all about the enjoyment you feel. I'm also with Lando on gacha games, while they are the embodiment of evil sometimes there's nothing more satisfying than saving up for your fave and when you manage to pull that character it's like Christmas and your birthday on the same day because your hard work paid off. Also shoutout to Connor's Animal Crossing fishing box ring basement, that sounds like it was the heart of the entire game I would have loved to see that.
The Rick and Morty impression were hilarious as heck! I do feel you on the topic of crushes stemming from when you were younger, somehow I believe it's because they serve as someone you admired at that age or in other cases as an awakening to what you perhaps want to see in someone even if that might be somewhat of a stretch. Or it really is just a case of thinking "this character pretty" when it comes to cartoon and anime ones. Really great listen, enjoyed your usual banter and energy during this epsiode! It had a very good flow the way you talked about each topic. Looking forward to the next one!
Lando simply swung by
Commander "Pie Face" Connor is now my oshi
Times I saw Connor go to the Beer Garden in one day: 3+
Surprised it wasn’t more 😂
Bro said ketchup is trash ain’t no way 🙂🙂
Must be some genetic taste thing cuz I can't stand ketchup either, which is especially weird since I love every other tomato product, even raw slices on sandwiches. Tho I'm totally fine with ketchup mixed in stuff like bbq sauces
35:16 Sending Lando top lane was probably the worst choice, that place is an island far removed from the rest of the map LOL. Seems like the most likely thing to happen did happen. That's rough. He has my condolences as a top lane main.
39:06 Man, I guess Connor is my complete opposite. I much prefer PvM or cooperative games, I tend to avoid competitive games. I'm surprised he's not a fighting game enjoyer after learning this.
12:15, No same, I also thought the same thing as Connor when looking at that booklet on the plane LMAO.
I rewatched the summoned skull part over a few times 😂 idk why but it was so funny
Enjoyed the small yugioh talk ❤ nice episode again and thanks for saving connor😂
I had a deja vu of the yugioh conversation.
iykyk
Perhaps playing Grounded might be a good in-between. There is fighting and crafting.
Yu-Gi-Oh is still so much fun, but the retro formats fit what you want right now in a game. Edison format has the potential to get really complex, but the cards are much easier to understand without spending too much time playing. Modern is fun, but it can get overwhelming.
Rewatching this: The game they should probably play is Palworld lol. It's part Monster Rancher, part Stardew Valley, part sweaty FPS raiding.
Worms wmd, Mario kart, among us, bg3, gartic phone, etc etc
Im gonna need the ending track cause that shit is bumpin
Thank you for another episode🙏!
This is my first time listening to a podcast, i really it enjoyed it. i’ve been rewatching the other episodes while waiting for a new one.😇
God this podcast is like couples therapy to them at this point.... 17 minutes in and they are fighting.. Good job on the episode!
With all the food talk maybe you guys can do occasional food reviews and call it “fest in jest” or something
Connor: "I don't know how to have fun in video games anymore, unless someone else is angry at me."
Completely sums up my World of Warcraft experience. I can even pinpoint my trauma trigger that snapped my brain. Ashenvale Forest. 3 or 4 weeks into launch. That was my Monarch theater point. Only instead of Batman I became Night Haunter
you should totally play co-op games like deeprock galactic or helldivers 2
Professor Lando - you should maybe try cult of the lamb. its a farning/village sim with a rouge like battles and you can brutalize your villagers if you want :D
Game suggestions: Deep Rock Galactic, V Rising, and Barotrauma
... Airplane how to die safely is going to haunt me in my dreams now.
Upon closer inspection, there is literally a wikipedia page about the "brace position" and it even has the conspiracy theory that Connor brought up about setting people up to die: turns out it was false.
Connor, have you considered getting a Tile tracker (or some other brand equivalent, like Apple Air Tag) for your wallet? That way you can track your wallet... 😅 At least if you lose it, you would be able to find it!
You guys could play Monster Hunter, or Black Ops 3 zombies, Risk of Rain 2, 7 Days to Die.
fellas play ark in pvp servers and youll get both resource gathering and the seething hatred of competitive fps
Shooting my shot with a game recommendation but Once human has the base building and farming that Lando likes and the shooting and boss fights that Connor likes so ya know
👀
I never know what to write in these, but I wanna support the channel, so here's another comment.
My favourite part was the fish boxing ring in the basement. There's just something so endearing about it, in a weird way.
Also, I wanted to say that this is the only podcast I watch, because it feels cozy and I can actually relate to the stuff you guys talk about. I'd even buy your goddamned gamer supps if I could, but oh well.
Is there a multiplayer game that's like Rune Factory? That's what came to mind for me when you guys were talking about something in-between your preferences tbh, but that might be because it lives rent free in my head
Thanks for another great episode Bois! ✨
Can't wait for them to play PVZ: Garden Warfare
Another Great episode my dudes, my no 1 podcast at the moment that I'm actually waiting for more.
Honestly seeing you all play some Destiny 2 would be pretty fun. We get to see you get frustrated by the new user experience! But when you've played a bit and kind of figure it out, get 3 people together and run like...the Whisper of the Worm mission to get confused and owned for 40 minutes.
I'm actually sobbing listening to them talk about yugioh gx ;;;;
58:35 Moments like this 🤣
lethal company modded, unironically
I hate to say it but the FPS farm simulator that Lando came up with might just be Rust, and PalWorld for the violent Animal Crossing game
Sounds like y'all need to get into fighting games. Pick one that you all agree looks cool and all have no idea how to play, and just throw yourselves at each other. Leaves room to learn how to get really deep in, or just mash buttons and still get competitiveness without necessarily having to deal with internet randos
Animal Crossing. Homies all go to one island. Watch the august fireworks together. Lol
I understand the food pickiness because I was very picky for the majority of my life because of my own chronic stomach issues.
The Raven vs Blackfire thing is silly, even if I do like Blackfire’s design but maybe I’m biased because Raven was my favorite character.
Also the Animal Crossing with brutality, sounds like you want an AC mod for GTA 😂
Great episode, awesome meeting you guys at AX!
I'm going up to bat for pancakes + hotdogs! Specifically because I make that sometimes for my nephew and niece for breakfast. They saw me having hot links for breakfast once but they don't like hot links... BUT they liked the idea. So I tried hotdogs for them, and it was a hit. And if anyone has had to feed children before, if you find something they like to eat that isn't fast food, you embrace it.
love that the first half was food talk lol. and I agree with connor about gaming. kind of hard to get into games lately. i do love farming games though!!
I would honestly love to watch them play Hell Divers 2
Another week closes with laughter, thank you guys!!❤😂🎉
It's nice hearing about Tim and the boys, I missed seeing them on stream
To be fair, I also don't eat my fries with ketchup.
I suggest Longvinter. It's kinda like animal crossing but with guns
I mean.. Lethal Company with mods. Connor can still murder people. Look at Zentreya. She's always murdering her friends :D
Oh. Final Fantasy 14. Free up to level 70 if you want to try. Connor can go White Mage or any healer that has the ability 'Rescue' eventually. And he can literally 'rescue' the others off cliffs or into AOEs to kill/troll.
Group game recommendation: Core Keeper. Can have up to 8 players and the full game comes out August 27th.
There’s one Hero Shooter/MOBA you didn’t mention: Paladins. I tried it out and it’s a really solid 5v5 game. I could tell what was happening and how each player was contributing to victory. I didn’t know any advanced strategies, but I didn’t need to in order to have fun filling my role.
I'm not really a gamer but a game that's super easy to just boot up and play with friends is Risk of Rain 2, you can use mods to get 5 players. It's kinda like apex with all the visual noise though. Combative farming game makes Don't Starve Together come to mind. Also always and forever promoting lethal company. If you want chill games to feel murderous intent over getting tabletop sim and just playing fuckin monopoly or something seems like it could work, loads of simple card games that can be really fun. I also think it would be hilarious if you tried playing minecraft pvp mini games like bed wars or minecraft hunger games or something.
DESTINY 2 MENTIONED?!?!?!? please stream it im begging y'all
i think the forest or the sequel would be a good game for you guys, i forget how many people can play tho lol
I really thought Connor is the type of person to own a chain for his wallet. 😅
Listening to the gaming talk and wondering if they're gonna mention dead by daylight or splatoon or something (I forgot how many players ur supposed to have for those tbh )
Lando nailing the Summoned Skull was insane 😂 Ojamas are the best though, Yugioh GX is really underrated.
I wonder if something like Ark might be good since I think it has resource collection and pvp? Or maybe just Fall Guys...
