The Steam deck has been able to fill in an absurdly giant hole that the 3DS left in my heart, I had been primarily a handheld gamer for almost all of my life yet I made the transition to PC when I couldn’t keep up with the Switch when it launched, and even after getting one second hand, I simply couldn’t get into it as much as I loved playing Kirby Forgotten Land or Pikmin 4. But now I simply can’t get away from my Steam Deck, it’s everything I wanted and more.

What if i have the console that they released years ago that pluts into the tv? Do i still need a steamdeck?

isn’t the claim “30-50% more battery life” exactly the same thing as you saying “double battery when playing elden ring”? 50% is double. i am not sure why we had to get so semantic there lol. otherwise, nice review and thank you. i am considering purchasing one.

Better battery? Performance can be shockingly bad when playing triple A titles. Let's face it. Why else would you buy it? It also crashes frequently which is excruciatingly annoying. Update after update not only means Valve rushed the Steamdeck but the minor changes don't even scratch the surface to overall capability I don't think I'll be buying a replacement when my one eventually goes to handheld heaven..

I have a few additions, you can install windows on a steam deck if you have an sd card with it. you can also emulate ps4/5 games and ps3 games and the dock is really good and its better than the switch dock

I completely agree. I am going to sell my Legion Go since I’ll never use it, Steamdeck is so comfortable and easy to use.

Why you shouldn’t: if you ever put windows on it you’ll get the shittiest experience in your life. My touchscreen stopped working until I finally fixed it. If you ever wanted to sell it good fucking luck. The worst device I’ve ever purchased. I wish I waited on the other hand helds. I’d get rid of this thing the moment I could.

The main reason i like the steam deck more than a pc is that you dont just have to sit at a chair to play the games you love you can do it on your couch or your bed and the deck itself still runs just as well if not better than a whole ps4

While I think the steam deck is definitely the better purchase, I bought a switch back in 2020 to get access to Nintendo exclusives. Id be curious to know how well the emulated Nintendo games run if I wanna sell my switch and get a steam deck in the future.

Easily the best gaming device ever made. The versatility and content is unparalleled. I have my entire gaming library throughout my life on this thing. Emulation is extremely good. Rare games that are lost to time can run on this. Valve just needs to keep doing its thing and they will dominate the gaming industry very soon.

I got the Steam Deck LCD 64GB for $350 dollars from steam. I can't wait to get it since I am always traveling.
