The biggest thing the steam deck has going for it is the same thing Apple has. They control the hardware and software. That is why using a deck will continue to be the best experience.

Sold my PS5 for the Deck OLED back in the fall and it was the best move. Been a console gamer my whole life but my switch showed me just how much I loved handled gaming and the Deck OLED was everything I had wanted the original model to be. It has been such a blast gaming on this and even with some of the horsepower drawbacks, it's been so worth it. It's truly all that I wanted the switch to be and access to older games through steam and not having to worry about needing to go find a PS3 to play some older titles has been the best

I’ve been so close to purchasing it. I’ve been at the payment page at least 3 times the past month, but I’ve chickened out each time. I’m a bit worried that I won’t enjoy it, but so many people have gave great reviews on it. I’ve binge watched the pros and cons. The only thing is that I just created a steam account, so I don’t have any games at the moment, but I have a lot of games in my wishlist (majority verified). I’m thinking of getting the 512gb oled model.

Great Video and I agree with all your comments. I have an High End PC with a RTX4090 etc which in total cost over £10,000 UK pounds, but I almost always play on the Steam Deck OLED. Don't get me wrong I love my Gaming PC, but sometimes when you aren't concentrating on watching TV, I play on the Steam Deck at the same time. I have created a 1TB SD Micro with EmuDeck and emulated thousands of games and it's awesome. I also have a AYA NEO Pro the 2TB SSD, but I have only spent a few hours on it, it's a great machine but I found using windows difficult on the small screen. I think the Steam Deck OLED is amazing machine, which will appeal to people with little or no PC experience because it's so easy to use.

I have ROG Ally and 2 steamdecks and the Steam decks great. But I love my ROG Ally. it's amazing. have like 150 games on it and about 100 odd on my steamdeck. Ones 64 gb waiting for me to put the 1 terabyte SSD I swapped out my other deck
But both my main ROG Ally and my main Steamdeck have 2 terabyte SSD's but my ROG has a 1 terabyte SD card as well co's it's my favourite.
Steamdecks better than it was when i bought it at running games. Like elden ring would never run at high settings on deck at all now it can but low fps. But the ROG I play starfield at 1080p ultra with a mod or without the mod. But slightly better with the mod. And elden ring max settings at 1080p can even use medium and high RT but high is low fps. playable.
But I obviously only do that for testing purposes. It's insane the ROG ally Z1 extreme. Plus I have antek addon battery that lets you play at 30 watts mode when out and about so I get like 3 hours plus playing starfield at 30 watts awesome. about 4 to 5 hours using my 2nd SIWIQU battery pack but that runs it at 25 watts. I love the thing..I don't usually need the battery packs though as the RoG battery always lasts long enough for me. It's not much different to steamdeck LCD. In my experience.
If you can it's so much better to have a steamdeck and a ROG ally. And a PC But I am a tech nut lol. I really don't know why people moan about battery. You can augment the battery like I have.
it's no big deal to have a usb C cable running to a battery pack in your rucksack lol. or next to you on the sofa or bus seat etc.
Also I don't bother docking mine as would rather play on my 4k TV at 120 fps lol.

It took me two weeks to get used to trackpads and set it up right which is a lot of work and need ux improvement but its sooooo good. I think valve had it right with their controller we just refused to try it.
I could never play fps games with controller, mouse and keyboard guy. But I don't want to touch gaming on pc anymore, I like the separation work from gaming, so I forced myself to learn how to play on controller again. Count do it with joystick, then I said f it and went to try trackpad. God damn it it's amazing it truly is worth putting extra time to get used to. The thumb angles and what not takes some time but I did it in two weeks with 30-40 min practice before bed and now I use right trackpad for all controls instead of joystick.

@@sam.alexander.reviews sorry Sam I actually love your vids and I meant no disrespect. Probs should’nt have said anything but I’ll leave the comment up just cause you liked it. You’re the man and please keep up the good work. You’re one of the reasons I got my steam deck. God bless man

Even with the latest stable update, stable mode is still unstable. When it's not crashing it's a great device. Unfortunately it crashes far too often and far too randomly to recommend. So I think a few more years with other leading manufacturers out there and we could see a portable pc gaming device to drool over. The Steam Deck ain't it, though.

I have not had that happen yet during gameplay personally. You may have a lemon.

I just hate that I cant play Destiny 2 on it and like all my multiplayer games on ST because Anti-cheat. I never saw anything really about that in reviews at the time and im not gunna lie i was really disappointed about it. Besides that its great but that is a big downgrade for me.

90hz for a mobile gaming machine is generous. What good is a powerful tech but with a battery life that cannot last an hour.
