Love the camp set up and the Triumph! Got a Royal Enfield and my twin brother has a Trident 660, trying to get him into motocamping with me haha
@@erikopack Cool haha. I can’t wait for the warmer weather to come around. I do have a winter sleeping bag but not sure if I’m brave enough to try it in December. 10 degrees was cold enough in autumn!
Shouldn’t the tent opening face the bike and groundsheet?
@@somersetlevellersmtb5564 Yes that’s how it’s normally done 👍🏻
I want one!! Good video, tells it like it is.
Very kind of you, thanks for watching 🤙🏻
I just added a rear luggage rack and panier racks. The luggage I bought is like yours except it has clips to secure it the panier rack. That way you don't have to secure the bags to each other. Makes it easier and quicker to load and unload.
@@Mark-ix8rz I have the same set up now as the one you describe and it’s definitely easier. My set up in this video was a bare bones set up with just the basics most people have around the house. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Hello, What brand of jacket do you wear and what size is it? :)
Hi! It’s a Richa Bonneville - Wax Cotton jacket. Urban Rider sell the latest version which is the Bonneville 2 jacket. I bought mine pre-owned ‘new with tags’ on eBay for £65. Size small 🤙🏻
@ thank you so much 🙏🏻
lol, I'm a bit stiff. I know that feeling. Thanks for sharing. That was a great hide-away camp site
Haha I totally get the appeal of a Honda Goldwing after that journey with there nice comfy seats! Thanks for watching.
Loved this one. Great commentary and scenery. Thanks from across the pond
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I got my 2014 Triumph Bonneville T100 as my first bike about 9 months ago now after passing my test. Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better first machine to get comfortable on. It's not scary with its power and suited for new full licence riders. I've taken mine around the UK and over to calais as well. Fanatastic first bike !
Great to hear! Happy riding 👍🏻
Love your videos, Really appreciate the natural pace they flow. My son would like to know what sunglasses you are wearing ...lol. He loves them
Glad you enjoyed it! They are a copy of RayBan Clubmaster Sunglasses :)

What year is that beautiful (T100) ?
@@roberthogan2428 2017 👍🏻
Nice video, very interesting. Thanks for posting!
I've watched with great interest because I'm looking at some options for used t100's . One thing that's bothering me is that, as you, I plan to do some distance touring. What puts me a little off is that the gas tanks on these bikes are so small . What is your tank capacity and what mpg do you usually make while touring ?
For this trip, I filled the tank whilst on the centre stand to get as much in as possible. The distance from my house was around 185 miles and I still had around 35 miles worth of fuel left when I reached the campsite so a full tank can do around 220 miles even with all the gear I was hauling with me. Thats around 50-55mpg at mostly motorway speeds. My biggest concern with any t100 or t120 is the tubed tyres. For touring, tubed tyres can be frightening if you get a puncture at 60 or 70mph. It happened to me earlier this year on route to the Lake District and the rear tyre deflated instantly and my bike wobbled all over the place next to a lorry on a dual carriage way at 70mph. Thankfully I controlled it and pulled over but once it happens, it’s always in the back of my mind. Everything else about the t100 is fine for touring here and there 🙂 thanks for watching!
I'm 67 and still camping, Not sure about getting dressed or undressed outside , at my age there's no way I could do it inside that tent 🥴
Thanks
Lovely video Steven, thank you. I do like a spot of motorcycle camping usually with other friends but also enjoy solo.
@@jannerfox9292 Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
Great video, Surfing Steven. Looking forward to your next upload from you. I smashed the thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! Your approach to solo camping is inspiring. How do you think the choice of location impacts the overall experience of a trip like this?
@@KeyserTheRedBeard Hi thanks for watching. Glad you’re enjoying the channel! Interesting question. I think the location is important to consider. For instance, if you’re fairly new to solo camping, staying overnight on a campsite could be a good place to start. That way you’re not so alone it’s daunting as there will likely be other campers around. Safety is the most important thing so if you’re happy a place is safe, you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. Google is great for location reviews too so if you’re looking for inspiration, that’s not a bad place to start. I think being on a campsite is still far enough from being at home to get the solo camping experience 🤙🏻
You should’ve been a Mod 😁 th-cam.com/video/B3QFPNUj_nw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7YPXeF_toMm6bo_H
Fantastic video and scenery. I have enjoyed my first taste of moto camping with a second hand Goose and loved it. What’s the name of the camp site?

Nice, Have fun in the New Forest! Hope the weather holds up 👍🏻
looks good last time our lot in n/wales pourd it down all week july looks like u got good weather enjoy
Oh dear, that’s unfortunate. Nearly every time I set off riding in the UK, I have to pull over mid journey to put my waterproofs on. Was nice to have a break from the rain this time 😂 Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
I love solo motorcycle camping. Can feel a bit self concsious but stuff it I say. Hope you do it again. Thanks.
Very true! Thanks for the encouragement 🤙🏻 More to come for sure. Thanks for watching.
There absolutely nothing wrong (or weird) about solo travelling! Enjoy the freedom. Could you do a run down of some of your equipment if you get a chance? Are you using the Shoei Glamster, I’ve been considering it! What size he’s do you have and what size helmet did you opt for? 😂
@@timinno Travelling solo is growing on me :) Sure can! I was thinking about doing that sometime soon as it happens. Are you mostly interested in my biking gear? Yes I have the Glamster and it’s a great helmet. A little on the tight side now I’ve fitting the freecom device but it’s doable. The retro look is why a chose it. I had the matte grey first but it showed finger prints really bad so exchanged it for a gloss black and so glad I did. I’ll check the size and reply tomorrow. Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
@@surfingsteven1624 yes, mainly the gear you’re using…what you particularly like, what’s worked and what hasn’t…anything that might be value for money. Good advice on the colour choice! Keep up the great content 😊
@@timinno my helmet size is M (medium) 57-58cm 👍🏻
@@surfingsteven1624 thank you 👍🏻
"High Mileage" lol, I was expecting 100,000 miles but 29,000 ? 😁
lol I remember at the time of searching for my next bike, it was rare to find a T100 that’s 6 years old with mileage higher than 4-6k. A lot don’t get used that much. You’re quite right though, these bikes can do a lot more!
Is it hard on your butt or back on long rides?
@@tiffinhappy9744 it’s fairly good. After several hours I was ready for getting off. The most annoying thing for me on long motorway rides is the wind buffeting so I may install a wind shield soon! Thanks 🤙🏻
@@surfingsteven1624 ok ty
So the groundsheet is not needed underneath the tent itself?
Hello from Redmond, WA USA. I just purchased my first road bike, albeit used 10K miles, which is the exact year and color of yours! I absolutely love the paint scheme and the ride quality sold me on the spot. I was going to test ride a 2024 T100 next, but didn't as this satisfied both my power need and pocketbook!....I got a great deal!! Anyways, just wanted to share and looking forward to many adventures ahead. CHEERS
I have a 2016 Street Twin. After 2 speed triples, zxr900 and 2 GPz1100's in my late teens/early 20's (40 years ago). Tbh, i found the 900 a little gutless for the motorway. Not quite enough power for easy overtaking. With a tec stage 1 cam, straight through V&H, decat and snorkel removal/dna filter she is now perfect. I also dropped in some 8.5n/mm linear springs in the forks and some 2820 hagons on the rear. After trying a friends, i also got the 1inch higher benchnseat and that was more comfortable for me. She now is capable of anything i want from a bike AND it looks drop dead gorgeous! It sounds drop dead gorgeous! It feels small but looks big. On paper it has weight but it doesnt feel like it. A fantastic, easy to live with bike. Oh yes....i average 68mpg (in stage 1 trim).
should've got the T120, way more fun and tons more power
Great video mate.
@@lth1072 Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
@@surfingsteven1624 You're welcome. That tent is a game changer. I'm going to look for a good 2nd hand deal on one. Good luck

What year is your motorbike?
2017 🤙🏻
@@surfingsteven1624 Steven thank you so much for your reply. That motorbike is art on wheels! Thank you for your wonderful informative video, I have watched two times. Right now I am casualy looking for the same motorbike.
@@GregoryMarston thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it! Good luck with your search. The Bonneville is a great machine! Lots of bikes out there though 🤙🏻
Looks very English 😅 did anyone try to talk or make friends with you? As someone who a: loves camping b: loves my T100 and c: a human I’d make sure I talked to you if you were on your own..I just can’t bare someone having to be alone if there are friends to be made.
Not that I recall, only the campsite owner on arrival 😄 I’m quite happy to be a lone wolf sometime 🤙🏻 thanks for watching!
Not for me.
Nice video. I do like the quality of the Wingman but for the weight, bulk and price there's not enough space inside for me. OK for a weekend when you know that weather is going to be ok, but not not enough headroom to setup a camping chair if the weather was bad. If it did rain, would the water sit on the top of canopy and create your own raised swimming pool or does it run off?
@@duncanhine898 yeah it’s not a conventional tent for head room etc as you say but the quality is very rugged as it’s made from a canvas which I really like. I’ve tried moto camping with a Coleman 3 man tent in one of my previous videos in France and that was fine too. There’s something nice though about having an awning tied to the bike which I can look at when I’m chilling. Each to their own. I think the rain will run off to either side. Moto camping in rainy weather will always be a damp experience with any tent I think but I see your point. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment 🤙🏻
i have one for last x3 years and the roadkitchen too, love it. it does what it does and is a tent for life. only thing i would recommend is getting sleeping bag liner for those cooler nights. I wrap my liner up with the rest of the tent. it adds no extra bulk and is then always there if i need it. happy camping/biking! 🏍✌🤍
Nice, thanks for your feedback! I’m going to get myself a liner. I’ve also considered the road kitchen. I use a small camping stove at the moment but I love the idea of cooking alternatively. Did your wingman come with the 2 up right poles for setting up the canopy with out the bike? I keep seeing them used on instagram a lot but my Goose didn’t come with any extra poles.
@@surfingsteven1624 ah the roadkitchen is ace, you will love it! it's only slightly more mess than a gas stove and gives a really fantastic heat. Stuart fillingham has a great video on it in action which is very accurate. I used it this weekend with my family and it just about handled meals for x4 ppl. I haven't seen that re: up right poles but it sounds like a good add on if you cannot have the bike next to you for some reason (ex. camp site rules) i will look into that myself now too! All i need now is the iceman and i'll be a walking marketing campaign for Wingman haha
@@Benwheatleys I’ll put the stove on my Christmas list. Wingman have actually just released some really cool items. Coincidentally, the awning poles I mentioned are now for sale 🙌🏻 it’s nice to find a brand isn’t it that doesn’t cut corners on quality.
All I ever wanted when I passed my test was a Triumph Classic.I have an old 2016 StreetTwin.Luckily it came with lots of extras and was in very good condition.
@@racheltaylor6578 Nice 👌🏻
I dig your soundtrack.
Thanks! I appreciate your comment 🤙🏻
mate how come your link to your instagram doesnt work?
Try it now 👍🏻 Thanks for the heads up!
Nice review out of interest do they suggest putting the tent on the other side of the bike in case it falls over in bad weather especially if it’s on soft ground and gives out? Knowing my luck I’d be crushed by my own bike and stuck in the tent 😂
Thanks for watching. I think either side is fine and I used a small wooden coaster under the kick stand so that it doesn’t sink into the ground. The bike didn’t budge during my trip so I’d be happy to use that method again 🤙🏻
They don't sell this specific color anymore.
Is it possible to do a 2-up road trip on the t100? With luggage without a shelter? What do you think?
@@marteriamarterium2564 You could certainly do a 2-up road trip on the T100 but it’s perhaps not the best machine for the job in my opinion. For a one-off shorter trip, why not! But for a touring trip, long distance I would prefer a larger machine. Recently I’ve been looking at something like the Honda Pan European because they’re quite affordable now and will do the miles quite comfortably 2-up with luggage. For solo long distance touring, the T100 is fine. I find with the T100 it’s a good all rounder. It’s never going to be the best for touring, or the fastest, or most nimble machine on 2 wheels but it does everything ok and looks the business 😉 hope that helps! Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
@@surfingsteven1624 thank you for your answer! it is all i needed to know and keep up the good work! i am new to your channel but I will stay around!
I've been waiting for this video, thank you. I nervously watched you carry your keys across that bridge at the start - a cliff hanger in the first 30sec🤣
I haven’t noticed that before, yikes! I won’t do that again 😂 Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
I think it’s okay if the bike has been regularly serviced.I’d rather buy an old Triumph than a new Enfield because of the quality of the parts.
Great video young man, enjoyed it very much. Please keep them coming.😊
Thank you! Will do!
Don't get me wrong , it is beautiful but the pack down is so huge😰. I have the Able Brown Nomad 2 that I bought a few years back. It's similar to what you bought there but not as roomy😅
The pack definitely rolls up smaller with use. After my recent trip away I noticed the pack is significantly smaller than it was in this video 👍🏻
@surfingsteven1624 on my 2011 monster 796 storage spot, that takes a lot of room plus I've seen other videos on this tent. Saddle bags on my bike looks off🙄
