This is around the performance/experience we were expecting on the Steam Deck, but we can still hope!

The OLED’s battery, feel, and screen make it well worthwhile! I wouldn’t play STALKER 2 on it, but there’s plenty of other games I’d pick the OLED over the Ally X on.

I would agree, but there’s new AAA that can run well on it! Look at Metaphor and Sparking Zero!

I would say Deck 2 should. The ROG Ally X is running it okay, and since a Deck 2 should be more powerful, I would say it's a safe bet.

The hardware is probably way too weak to handle modern engines and technologies because if we went by that logic, might as well target the Nintendo Switch, that way you would really cover all hardware.

@@phoenix0828 Not when you actually use the feature set of the engine like Lumen and Nanite. Hell, the consoles can barely handle it and those have way better APUs, even the Series S which nearly everybody makes fun of for being underpowered.

@@marcelosoares7148 if the only thing that can run Lumen ends with a 80's and up it should be better optimized. Stop accepting bullshit answers when Developers use to do more with a lot less.

That one is our bad. The latest update got rid of it for any recordings, so we have to use a specific launch option to make it visible. We forgot it for this video T-T

Wait if you are only going to be playing on the Steam Deck. It's a great game, but definitely not the best on the Deck yet.

The original? It should be playable. I haven't tested, but the APU in the Ally X is the same as the Ally. Biggest difference is RAM.

For this specific game, an Ally X would be better. But in general, the Steam Deck is well worth the money. Also, where can you get an Ally X cheaper than $679?

@@SteamDeckHQ foe EVERY game AllyX will be better and got 1080p and bigger battery. Deck is overpriced pos not capable of running any modern games. It is worth max 200bucks - shitty device to run 2D emulators and games. It can't even run indie games properly and 800p screen looks like a vomit.

For a device so small and the distance you keep it from your eyes anything above 800p it's an overkill 'your eyes simple can't spot the difference '

It MAY be playable at low settings, but it's going to be difficult and require compromise.

Optimization across the board is a bit iffy, so I think the developers need to focus on it a bit. But hopefully there will be some improvements moving forward! I am glad you liked the video though, thank you for watching.

We can expect whatever. Modern games are not that hard to run anyway. Sure it will change overtime but at least as of now, many games can run on steam deck if developers put in the effort.

After seeing how good god of war ragnarok and ghost of tsushima looks and runs on the deck you never know what to expect now

I look at steam deck videos to see if it would run on my laptop my laptop is a little bit better but I'm not sure by how much

This is on OLED, but LCD should be similar, especially if you change the Engine.ini.

That’s one of the things I really like about it it being more on the traditional side. It doesn’t feel overly complex.

If you want to play portably, switch. If not, PC!

It's not graphically intense for PC. Still under 60 fps in certain areas for steam deck.

I disagree! Yes, it isn’t a graphically intense game, but we do performance reviews to check if we can optimize the game further. In this case, we could!

You'd know you're plain wrong 10 seconds into the video since the "not even graphically intense game" still doesn't reach 60fps in some instances ...
