So you can go in and change some settings in the ini to make the game run better without changing resolution, but it does come at a visual cost. I wouldn't recommend turning everything off to get to an unstable 60, but it is possible. You can find the file at: /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2658450/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/lollipop/Saved/Config/Windows/ The top section is where the changes are that you will need to make. You can make some of the numbers smaller, which will reduce their quality and improve performance. To see a sizable difference, you will have to reduce shadows, global illumination, reflections, and view distance to 1 or 0. More testing is needed for sure, but it is a sacrifice to visual quality for framerate.
@@SteamDeckHQ I wrote the ini edit guide on Atelier Ryza 3. It was HOURS of switching back and forth to dektop mode to edit inis and resolution and any change from the game menu, even by accident would reset everything :(
To be honest the only reason why I have the ps3 emulator is to play lollipop chainsaw. It runs fine but it stutters out of nowhere while the gameplay is very smooth so I figured it requires some tinkering which I didn't bother due to having a variety of options to play on my steam deck. Until I found this video again I will go back to it!. You're the best. You're just keep making me love my steam deck more and more with your contents and posts.
Thank you! That really means a lot to hear. There are some ini values you can tweak to improve performance more (check pinned comment), but it does mean reduced visual quality.
A lot of coping in the video, why do you keep shilling for this horrible port? Most ps3 era games run perfectly on the deck, and with great battery, this port shouldn't take more than a gtx1050 to run ar 1080p 60fps.
Friend. I am from Brazil. Sorry if you said this in the video, but I don't speak English. I would like to know if the song"Cherry Bomb by Joan Jett" still plays in the Game's main menu
100%! I do wonder if there’s an ini file we could edit, and I am looking for one, but no luck yet (no ini files in game directory, so maybe compatdata?)

Is there a better preset than can be made to aim for 40 or 35 with decent settings? I really hate blind editing. where's tha darn options menu :(
Right?? We need to test it more, but going back and forth with the settings is a nightmare and takes a lot of time.

At least you don't need a decent framerate to get that ONE achievement.
Both the lack of options and the optimization are jokes for how long this took to come out
It could have really benefited from in-game settings.
Appreciate the info. Definitely gonna buy this one but I'm gonna wait for Steam Deck performance improvements.

Someone please test if emulating the switch version runs better because that would be hilarious if it did
I know that rpcs3 runs even better, idk about the switch
That's disgusting.
A 10yo ps3 game running this badly is absurd.
Almost wonder if it would be better to just emulate the game for better performance and the OG OST at this point.
You can change some ini values for better performance, but it comes at visual cost.
Wtf dude i palyed the repop with my 4080 at 1440p and the power draw is going 300+ watts, thats beyond bad optimization smh
Yeah it’s a lot…have you tried changing the ini settings at all?
Thank you

That's disappointing, specially for a game that's 10 or so years old.
Just a bit. It can get better by editing the ini file, but it's a lot of work for an unstable 60 FPS with visual compromises.

I believe the title card music is the same. Main Menu may have changed, but I actually never played the original so I’m not sure if it has changed.
@@SteamDeckHQ ok, thank you very much
I pretty much put the resolution at 1024x576 in game that fix the fps
Sucks there no graphical options to change
Using SteamOS FSR helps to make up for any blurriness, but yeah, no options is a bummer. I wish it had more we could configure.
@@SteamDeckHQ oh yeah definitely putting fsr on makes the game look better
But it is playable
I manage to beat the first boss without to much hassle

@@SteamDeckHQ oh that's way out of my league man lol
But I hope they verified or at make the game playable status
We found it! You can check the pinned comment here for info, but there are some visual downgrades. They really needed to make an in-game menu.
Great video, but it’s pretty lame how unoptimized this game seems to be and also the sad lack of in-game graphics options.
Agreed. They really needed to allow us to modify the ini in game.
hide your face and the video will be better.
Your ignorance is showing
Fuckin rude, no need for your lame negativity here
@firegate sad life you have kiddo.
Wow dude you are such a comedian....congrats...
