@@silentangling, I fish it whenever I get down from London on the BAA ticket (Stacklands). Had a great day there last week with 5 barbel including a 10lb 2oz pb.

@@silentangling I am still exploring it my first trip 6 weeks ago I caught a 3lb Perch. Had a few Chub around the 3lb mark too. It's not the Wye which is a special river but it's on my doorstep and doesn't seem to get a lot of pressure.

@@crashnburnband A 3lb perch is a special fish indeed. It being your local and forgotten about is everything, good luck with your exploration.

@@silentangling Thanks would love to get back to the Wye though. I used to fish Foy every year in late summer and even caught a 12b Salmon spinning for Pike there once. But we went for the Barbel I never managed a double but had two at 9lb 15oz

I've only fished Whitney in the winter ( there's a video in the day ticket playlist ) it's a beautiful stretch with lots of potential. I would look for the shallow faster water with cover over head as the fish still seem be be in their summer residence. Try and trott a bait or keep it moving. Meat, corn, pellet all produce but id probably avoid maggots. Obviously keep an eye on the weather and water levels as this can change overnight and you'll need to hunt out the snaggs. I highly recommend giving the river keeper a bell, he's a lovely chap and will have the latest gossip. Hope this helps and please keep me posted on how you get along, tight lines and thanks again.

Hi John, Credit goes to you for that fish as it was after your advice on FB that I chanced my arm at a cast under the Willow. The bait bucket is the 7l Drennan specialist, the zip broke after the first seasons but that was more to do with my heavy handed treatment, it's a useful bit of kit as it'll crush down and fit in a rucksack. @@harryturner3063 Hi Harry, It's the Drennan Eva pouch the zip can be a bit sticky at times but I certainly put it through its paces by squashing it down to fit in a bag at it's held up.
