@@pauledwards6470 Hi Paul, Hows your fishing been going ? The river was close to unfishable so I was most greatful just to find one. Many thanks for your continued support of the channel it's much appreciated.

Hi John, I think your observation regarding the cold water was correct. Many thanks as always for your continued support both here and across social media.
Hi Mark, Out of over a mile of river this was the only swim that was fishable. I was extremely grateful to find one at home but surprised it was just the one. Thank you as always for your continued support of the channel,

@@silentangling well you did really well to catch the Barble, so hats off to you mate, glad you enjoyed the new video, all the best, be safe out there.
Hi, Great local knowledge. It's a landmark that's captured my imagination so expect to see a bit more of it over the coming months. Thanks for watching and especially commenting
@@silentangling, I fish it whenever I get down from London on the BAA ticket (Stacklands). Had a great day there last week with 5 barbel including a 10lb 2oz pb.
Another great video sir! I’ve returned to angling ofter a lengthy hiatus, and would dearly like some advice please. I’m effectively a beginner when it come to Barbel fishing, and have yet to catch one. My local river Soar recently looked very much like this. I attempted the technique of tripping down a swim with Korum touch ledgers and meat, but just lost them in all the snags! Your static rig looks a much better bet. What weight/specification is that lead please. Also, in spite of the fast flow, it seems the fish aren’t troubled by encountering food that is not moving with the current? Thanks… Chris
Hi Chris, Please accept my apologies for the late reply. The river Wye is notoriously rocky and the tripping technique just results in lost equipment. It is by far the most effective approach and trotting with a float is very effective. I've demonstrated this technique in my Summer in the Wye video. The speed of the flow on the surface is different to the flow on the river bed esspeiclay the deeper the water is so a static hookbait is not as strange to the fish as you'd imagine. Hope I've made sense and it is useful to you.
@@silentangling I am still exploring it my first trip 6 weeks ago I caught a 3lb Perch. Had a few Chub around the 3lb mark too. It's not the Wye which is a special river but it's on my doorstep and doesn't seem to get a lot of pressure.
@@silentangling Thanks would love to get back to the Wye though. I used to fish Foy every year in late summer and even caught a 12b Salmon spinning for Pike there once. But we went for the Barbel I never managed a double but had two at 9lb 15oz
You prove that a successful video on fishing doesn’t need two men rabbiting verbal rubbish for hours on end. Thank you, I really enjoyed that.

I could not agree more mate.
Loved it, a Norfolk man who loved his barbel, sadly they are not where they used to be. But thoroughly enjoy your fishing videos 👍🥲

Nice fish that mate, plenty of water and debris flowing thru now,
