Hi Harry, I was surprised that the fishing was a quiet as it was, however with the sun out and birds singing I was more than happy to just be there. Many thanks for your continued support and many apologies for the late reply.
Nice watch thank you. Caught my first few Barbel from that very swim, albeit with a little less water running through admittedly but with added interference from cows. Nice traditional approach and rewarded accordingly.
Hi Richard, like ones first kiss one never forgets ones first barbel. ( Mine was Tracy and the river Lugg). Thank you for your time spent in both watching and commenting. Apologies for the delay in replying.
Hi Brian, Thank you for both your time in watching and especially commenting. Patience is an easy discipline to practice in the Wye valley especially when the sun is out.
The use of fingers tells me you also fished with unreliable clutches on reels back in the day " how reels have changed" and yes I still play fish using my fingers and having watched anglers of shall I say a certain age bracket it appears old habits die hard . 😂 We are not alone . 😂
Hi Martin, I recently inherited some tackle so we might be seeing a 300 in action come June. Thank you as always for your support and time in helping the channel grow.
@@silentangling I just sold my Mitchell 300 to a young man who was getting into using vintage tackle split cane rods etc , it was gathering dust and his eyes lit up when he saw it so I'd rather see it getting some use rather than me daydreaming every time I picked it up . 👍
Still kept my Mitchell match though 🤣still use it I have a Young's travel rod in the car and one of these plastic tool boxes with bits and bobs in " my dear wife likes walking around stately homes and the such so she disappears doing that and I find the nearest bit of flowing water and the compromise is achieved ( bliss ) 👍
Hi Paul, It was another difficult day on the Wye. I probably coverd about a mile and every swim looked promising but at least the sun was out and the dawn chorurs made the early start worth while. Many thanks as always for your support and time spent in commenting.
Hi Steve, It was a very welcomed fish indeed and I was surprised it was a barbel. Many thanks as always for your continued support and many apologies for the delayed reply.
Hello there, I just found your channel, the river sounds of the birds and wildlife, thank you for this, with our rivers in flood all the time you may have given me some ideas. I'm pulling out my hair trying to sort something out, new sub mate, and all the best.
Hi Clive, Welcome aboard and many thanks for your time spent in both watching and commenting. It has been a challenging winter with the river ( Wye ) being so very difficult to predict. What rivers are you lucky enough to fish ?. Thank you for the vote of confidence with the sub I hope I can do it justice and apologies for the delayed reply.
@@silentangling Im hoping to fish the river Mole this weekend, but I have sent my applitcation form to join a new club, they have better strech of the mole and 4 large waters, so new projects ahead mate, I really like your channel, all the best.
@@cliveeariss880 please keep posted as I'm planning on fishing a few different rivers next season and I like the sound of the Mole. Thanks for the reply.
I love your videos, they chill me right out 😁
Hi Lee, Glad to of been of service and thank you for your time in watching and especially commenting.
Another enjoyable and atmospheric video, thanks. You had to persevere but moving swims paid off in the end with a nice Barbel. Well done!
