There are number videos where people jumper L (N) of the inverter to Gnd of the inverter. Some inverters really don't have a ground (like inverter I have). It is just not connected anywhere other than gnd of the inverter outlet(s) so for those inverters jumpering L to 'G' or N to 'G' will not damage inverter. When it comes to EVs or PHEV's battery (-) is almost always connected to car chassis (as you've tested here). Most of L1 charging adapters have ground plug wire which then connects standard outlet ground to vehicle chassis. Since most of those small inverters don't have a real N (neutral) if we connect inverter (with jumper between N-G on the inverter) we will end up having + and - connecting to chassis all the time. This may or may not damage car electronics. Not quite sure if some EV cars have ground fault detection inside the vehicle as well.

Thank you very much. In many other models the button is down next to the shift stick between the two front seats. All previous videos showed this. I just thought my car didn't have a button. It did not cross my mind to look in the glove compartment!

It is NOT a bug, it is a protection feature for mindless drivers. You are obliged to press 3 times to overide the windows anti-fog strategy embedded in the AC. It makes sense. This way the constructor is protected of any wrong doing if you have an accident due to fog on the windows. If you manually force it with 3 press on the button, you are responsible if you crash due to fog on the windows.
