when you unplug and plug in again will it automatically restart charging or do you have to activate it manually? and how to you restrict the device to 16A? only by the rating of the charging cable?
I can't find a video explaining how the solar compatibility works. Does it have only one CT connection which monitors both load management and solar export ?
I was planning to buy some of these cheap ones and put in the relay (I'm familiar with e.g., raspberry+relay and programming it), but the question is - is it possible to just use it for control pin - so I can set the charger to run at night or cheap off-peak tariff? Or control pin is not the best way to implement this?
They can be setup to use only the off peak power in their web page. There is also a button near the emergency break which also can be pressed and use the off peak
I meant not exactly this one, but usually they are around 300-500€ dumb and around 1000€ smart ones with a lot of options. So my idea was to use some dumb one with Raspberry etc.
@@tedonash2681 I'm planning to use it with dynamic tarification (tariff changes every hour), but basically it is cheap through night, but sometimes 0-4, sometimes 22-7, sometimes it's even cheap at day time 11-14, etc. So I could make in the best time slot to do the charging , not the car's programmed one. Also - if I set the off-peak, I can't start charging usually at AC public chargers, or if I start it manually with the button, then it charge to 100%, not 80%... so everytime to change the settings in phone app is cumbersome
Congratulations on your very lucky purchase!! That was a great deal for such an easy fixable problem!! :-)

@@electricwhirl5175 why causing all the trouble. I would set up a car scheduler to charge off peak. I think that is quite easy.

Will this supply 16A or 32A from your garage outlet?
I have 16A limit in my garage. I need to increase the power my utility company delivers
