WE'RE BACK! BASHING THROUGH VICCO RAIN, HAIL AND SHINE! ANGLESEA, APOLLO BAY & WARNAMBOOL!
So it's been a minute. Well, over a year or more since the last installment of this series. . .but here we are, back and continuing the lap around Oz that we started all that time ago. . .
This is Victoria, our old home state and something we know very well - but given the work that we had to do on the Sunshine Coast after we got back from Tasmania and the things we had to get fixed on the car and van along with a health scare at home with Kate's old man, this was just a hectic emotional time that didn't see us doing much other than admin until we hit the Great Ocean Road.
So see how we go. . .as we head off down there, I think it was in April/May. . .and it was really just a bit too late.
We hit up an Anglesea beachfront van park which was really nice, spent an epic 4 or 5 days in Apollo Bay overlooking the park and the ocean, had a brief free camo stop in a place with a really bodgy pub meal before ending up in good 'ol Warnambool at another beach front caravan park, which was nice too. But yes . . . the weather. . .not quite what it's all about when you imagine caravanning, that's for sure.
So the elephant in the room. . .what's not relevant anymore, is the timeline of this journey. . .but what is important is that I finish this series out, there is over 12 months of travel left in this series and Tasmania only made up 2 months. I want to be able to look back on these in my later years and I want the kids to have them too. So if you enjoy them also, good times. :)
So with that mind, we'll be working on these again and looking for more regular deliveries, perhaps in shorter form too, so we can keep up the consistency.
This video took a long time, I think because it has my Pa in it. . .it was a shocking experience to lose him and every time I went to edit this video I'd end up in tears, instead of feeling the usual excitement that I do when I sit down with all the footage. So apologies for the delay - obviously there was some healing to do here. . .
We hope you enjoy. 🙏

NO VAN IN 2023?! HOW DID WE MANAGE? A 2023 REEL...
มุมมอง 2235 หลายเดือนก่อน
More of a (Late) love letter to the year that was 2023 than anything else. . . We had a ball this past year, no van did suck at times that's for sure. But we managed to kick things off in Bali with a 6 week trip with our best mates Brooke, Mike, Chris and Keeks and all the kids - which was a ripping time. A few big trips to Melbourne for my cousins bucks and wedding offered some mid year respit...
FROM QUEENSLAND TO THE KIMBERLEY (AND BACK AGAIN) IN 3 MINUTES! EPIC GIBB RIVER ROAD & BROOME TIMES!
มุมมอง 1.8Kปีที่แล้ว
Well, as most of you know we're interrupting some scheduled programming here to show you what we just got up to these last two months. Recently the folks at Vision RV, who we have known for a few years now through Sunseeker on the Sunshine Coast (since they sold us our first-ever van.) asked us if we'd like to take one of their Vision RV VH16 Bunk vans over to WA, to battle test it on the most ...
BREATHTAKING! THE LAKE ARGYLE SUNSET CRUISE WAS MAGICAL!
มุมมอง 514ปีที่แล้ว
Just a quick little thing - a vignette of sorts of a day out on Lake Argyle yesterday with the fam. No talking. No crap. No vertical video for the sake of Instagram. 😂 Honestly, this landscape up here in the Kimberley is too stunning to crop like that. Don't worry, this is not the acceptance and end of the scheduled programming of our lap content - that's definitely still to come. But sometimes...

TASMANIA'S BEST LAKE FREECAMP!? LAKE GAIRDNER & STUNNING CRADLE MOUNTAIN! CAN IT GET ANY BETTER?
มุมมอง 3.1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Katie calls this her favourite episode yet because she literally just loved Lake Gairdner - and you'll see why. . .what's not to love!? It's surrounded by mountains, nestled down there amongst the trees, fed by a pristine river of fresh, freezing cold water coming down out of the mountains. Such a magical spot! We daytrip up to Cradle Mountain, go swimming without the appropriate attire and end...
HOW IT ALL WENT WRONG! WILD WEATHER, WHISKEY, FLIPOUTS, FLOODS, FOOD AND FRIENDS - IN TASMANIA
มุมมอง 2.5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
You know that saying "It's not all beer and skittles"? In this episode, it certainly wasn't. Well, it was still beer, but a lack of skittles was definitely on display. East Coast Low wreaks havoc on our plans in Freycinet, the rain comes in, we struggle with a wet van and car recovery on a rainy night, the car ends up on a tow truck, the floods come, we smoke a bit of salmon, eat some amazing f...
CAMPING AT BRUNY ISLAND! STFU! THIS IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF!!! OUR BEST EXPERIENCE YET!
มุมมอง 9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Strap in for some absolutely stunning natural beauty here! If you like the coast, this place will floor you! We did not want to leave this beautiful little Island. Around every corner, there was something new and beautiful to behold. After being told of a campground that cost $65 a night down in the South of Cloudy Bay - quite honestly, we scoffed at the sound of that after having freecamps lik...
HOBART! HOW TRIPPY IS MONA?! NIGHT MARKET GROOVING AND STUNNING PORT ARTHUR!
มุมมอง 1.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Hobart was pretty cool. Well, aspects of Hobart were cool. But in essence, it's really just a city. I don't really rate cities - certainly, we didn't commence a lap to see every city in Australia. More to experience the stunning natural surroundings we have on offer. But our Hobart experience was decent. We didn't shoot a lot, but we did shoot a few things extensively and that's what you'll see...
COOKING EVERYTHING OVER THE FIRE?! Felix McDonald does and the results are AMAZING! Blue Inc. Cafe.
มุมมอง 9802 ปีที่แล้ว
If you've followed along for a while, you might remember Katie and I fell in love with the food at Blue Inc. Café in Launceston. The dinner menu there "Touched by Fire" created by Head Chef, Felix McDonald was something else. . .We ate there three times, every time we were in Launceston and even enjoyed a meal there with our friends, The Vaggabonds one night. Personally, I love good food and lo...
COCKLE CREEK IN TASMANIA BLEW OUR MINDS! WE GO ALL THE WAY SOUTH AND WE FALL IN LOVE!
มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Listen...I know how it always sounds. . ."So EPIC!" "THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!" "COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!" But seriously, a lot of the places we went to in Tasmania were just that! We didn't think we would be going to Cockle Creek. Plans changed again, met an old fella in Franklin who convinced us that whole trip would be worthwhile. . .and he certainly wasn't wrong! When you see the footage, you'll s...
ARE YOU KIDDING?! HOW CAN CAMPING IN TASMANIA BE THIS GOOD?! BEACH, LAKE AND COUNTRY IN ONE WEEK!
มุมมอง 10K2 ปีที่แล้ว
What a ripping couple of weeks! Our plans changed three times within this video I think. . .We just moved on the fly, switched things up as we went and basically just responded to the weather. Which we've found is pretty much what camping in Tassie needs to be. . .when it's good, it's unmatched. When it's bad. . .it's pretty much the worst thing ever. Hahahah! Starting in Ansons Bay, the white ...
TASMANIA'S BAY OF FIRES. IS THIS AUSTRALIA'S BEST FREECAMP?! NOT MANY PEOPLE SEE IT LIKE THIS!

Man, what an experience! So different to what we expected and what the pictures show! Weather good and bad, massive swell, no wind, gale force wind, secluded beaches, Dale hooks a monster and we sample what many say are the best Oysters you can get in Australia from Lease 65 - MONSTERS! Hope you enjoy the episode. 🙏 And as always, thankyou for watching and sharing the journey with us. We apprec...
