TASMANIA'S BEST LAKE FREECAMP!? LAKE GAIRDNER & STUNNING CRADLE MOUNTAIN! CAN IT GET ANY BETTER?

  • Katie calls this her favourite episode yet because she literally just loved Lake Gairdner - and you'll see why. . .what's not to love!? It's surrounded by mountains, nestled down there amongst the trees, fed by a pristine river of fresh, freezing cold water coming down out of the mountains. Such a magical spot!
    We daytrip up to Cradle Mountain, go swimming without the appropriate attire and end up celebrating mine and Katrina's Birthdays!
    This is the last episode of our Tasmania trip and we recap the entire lot at the end going back over our thoughts on Tassie as a whole and there's a bit of philosophical musing in there too... No spoilers, you'll have to watch and see.
    Anyways - Hope you enjoy and if you do - please like and sub, it's the only way we know you're actually along for the ride.
    Merry Christmas and Happy New to you all! Big love! ❤️🙏

      Hey Richard, Thanks so much mate. Tasmania was amazing for us, I can't stop thinking about it. I think I share your enthusiasm there. Can't wait to get back! We are way behind on these videos, the latest stuff is over on the Vision RV's TH-cam Channel from the Gibb River Road. Thanks for taking the time to comment man. 🙏

      @@SaltEarthandSun Christian it is hard to work when the better half and youngsters are having fun without you and the adventures are still out there to explore but when you can turn out a piece of art like this that you all will look back on with your grand children it is worthwhile. My father took a lot of movies 1950s to 1970 that I have on vid and I enjoy seeing them still and I am past retiring age. I have a couple of Nikons that I play with but would love to be capable of producing work like this. Thanks again.

    They say that you shouldn't do long videos because your audience will get bored and lose interest, but you guys have a way of editing and story telling that keeps you watching and wanting to see more. This is the second video I've watched and look forward to more.
    Now I have no idea where you guys are from but I could swear I saw someone that looked like your wife and daughter at Epping Plaza today lol. Surely I couldn't have recognised someone after having watched only one video.
    Anyways keep making these wonderful videos. Cheers.

      Hey Mannie,
      Thanks for the kind words mate. 👍 Glad you are enjoying the travels - There is so much more to come. We're from QLD, currently in Tasmania and 2 weeks ago, sadly, weren't anywhere near Epping. We must have some Dopplegangers around the place. 😂👍

      Queensland is my favourite part of the country. Been there so many times.
      But this time it will be my first to Tassie. Your video also plays a part when it comes to the research I need to do before traveling.

    I just found this channel and cannot wait to get stuck into the rest of your vids - probably need to go back and watch them in order. Quality footage and so refreshing to see someone vlogging on something that isn't a GoPro! What gear are you using for the actual vlogging segments - the full R5 that you mentioned or have you got a smaller purpose vlog setup?

    • @SaltEarthandSun
      @SaltEarthandSun  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Ash. :) Yep, Just the R5 for most of the basic run and gun stuff.
      Thanks so much for the kind words - Glad you're enjoying!

      @AshHughesPhotos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SaltEarthandSun I see you mention your back a bit in the vids.. How's it go vlogging with the R5 at arm's length? I'm in the same boat with my back, and even a full frame A7iii mirrorless isn't kind to it

    • @SaltEarthandSun
      @SaltEarthandSun  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't have too much trouble with the camera at arms length. I just got used to it. Was certainly easier earlier in the trip as I was stronger from surfing all the time and being in the gym a couple of times a week. But still woudn't trade it. . .I loved the ease of the GoPro, but it was so common and after I'd graded one video of it's footage and hated the codec and colour science so much, I bought the R5 the following week. I had an a7iii before and same thing, great camera, but that slog2 colour science was rubbish when you started pushing it around.
      Now the a7sIII on the other hand. . .that's a lovely peice of kit, but that low megapixel count sucks. . .If only that camera had a 20MP+ sensor, I reckon it would have been the absolute perfect solution. I was so bummed it was 12MP.

      @@SaltEarthandSun appreciate the lengthy reply. I'm more photographer than video, so a lot to learn on that side of things... And just don't want the GoPro to become my go-to. Totally understand it serves it's purpose and why it's popular though.
