  • So it's been a minute. Well, over a year or more since the last installment of this series. . .but here we are, back and continuing the lap around Oz that we started all that time ago. . .
This is Victoria, our old home state and something we know very well - but given the work that we had to do on the Sunshine Coast after we got back from Tasmania and the things we had to get fixed on the car and van along with a health scare at home with Kate's old man, this was just a hectic emotional time that didn't see us doing much other than admin until we hit the Great Ocean Road.
So see how we go. . .as we head off down there, I think it was in April/May. . .and it was really just a bit too late.
We hit up an Anglesea beachfront van park which was really nice, spent an epic 4 or 5 days in Apollo Bay overlooking the park and the ocean, had a brief free camo stop in a place with a really bodgy pub meal before ending up in good 'ol Warnambool at another beach front caravan park, which was nice too. But yes . . . the weather. . .not quite what it's all about when you imagine caravanning, that's for sure.
So the elephant in the room. . .what's not relevant anymore, is the timeline of this journey. . .but what is important is that I finish this series out, there is over 12 months of travel left in this series and Tasmania only made up 2 months. I want to be able to look back on these in my later years and I want the kids to have them too. So if you enjoy them also, good times. :)
So with that mind, we'll be working on these again and looking for more regular deliveries, perhaps in shorter form too, so we can keep up the consistency.
This video took a long time, I think because it has my Pa in it. . .it was a shocking experience to lose him and every time I went to edit this video I'd end up in tears, instead of feeling the usual excitement that I do when I sit down with all the footage. So apologies for the delay - obviously there was some healing to do here. . .
    We hope you enjoy. 🙏

So glad you are putting up this footage. We saw your car on one of the lookouts when we were in this area in April 2021 and were so disappointed when you stopped posting. I am glad you are now in a space where you are able to post this footage. Love your early stuff. Keep on posting.

Alan, thanks so much for taking the time to write. 🙏 It's so nice to hear stuff like this, actually nearly brought a tear to my eye and I shared it with the family and they were likewise moved. It was a hard thing to overcome, but yes, the feedback is so lovely to get and definitely inpires me to get back to editing more. 🙌 We appreciate you. 🙏

Thanks heaps Darren. 🙏 It's nice to be back with more of our trip. Editing it now is certainly different, the kids are so much younger. Ada used to get quite self-conscious watching herself on camera, as it didn't fit with her self image, but now she loves to see what she was like when she was 'little' (all 3 years ago!). 😂 So, yeah, it's great to look back on already.

The Video quality was not good. Otherwise excited to see your adventures again. Thanks

Hey Gary, sorry about that? What about the video looked low quality exactly? Didn’t really film too differently to normal - and it was uploaded in 4K?

Watched again and everything is video quality is good. Regards Gary@@SaltEarthandSun

@@garyjohns8299 ahhh that can sometimes be caused by TH-cam testing your connection and finding that you don’t have enough bandwidth to stream the high res versions without it constantly stopping and buffering. So it drops the quality to whichever lower quality level will sustain smooth, stutter-free playback.
It sometimes gets confused though, so you can force it to the quality you want by clicking on the little ⚙️ icon and choosing “quality” then selecting a higher quality level. 4K is the highest. 👍
