@@Vindolin Well they aren’t completely down and out yet. But things took a turn for the worst pretty quickly. Chinese EV market is brutally competitive. Hopefully they will sort things out and this will get made. But…it’s a long shot
Baidu's sudden withdrawal of investment resulted in 5,000 employees losing their jobs last Wednesday. Additionally, the Baidu-supported intelligent systems in the vehicles will be affected, posing a serious threat to the safety of 15,000 car owners. Baidu often engages in such irresponsible actions, and their reputation in China is very poor.

@@PaulLay-zl9sg dude the company, which isnt a large one, just laid off 5k employees.
That's an awesome car. The Chinese are coming, hard.
I currently have Porsche Taycan 4s, Great Porsche driving exp BUT incredibly unreliable, tons of software and hardware issues. Whats wrong with those Porsche engineers ?? The most scary part of all is large number of HV battery issues in many Taycans. I would not think twice buying this SU7 and I will.
too bad Jidu Went bankrupt and this is not gonna be on the street anymore.

@ChinaDriven many brands are ponzi schemes with the goal to list on a foreign stock market so the owners can sell out but keep their cash outside of China.
@ChinaDriven most of them are ponzi schemes aimed at a foreign stock exchange listing so the owners can sell out and keep money outside China.
Surely that's something they would now be onto with Brembo, Brembo are responsible for their brake systems as they would be on any other manufacturers vehicle if they weren't doing the job expected from them. I'm certain this issue has possibly already been redressed at the time of this video.
Cool review of a cool car - but is such a big car going to be available with 3 rows of seats?
As for now, no 3 row version. Zeekr already have the Zeekr 009 which is a three row EV MPV and there are plenty of three row EV MPVs on the market in China. if the Mix was three row it would lose its seat magic
They should hire a designer from Pagani to improve their impressive design
An amphibious tank turning car... who knew this is how Taiwan would fall 😅
Does it have any thing in English? Or is it all in Chinese!
This Chinese market version only has Chinese. But the C10 thats exported to Europe ofc has english.
The Icarus metaphor is misplaced. Yes, the mythical Icarus and the extant Xiaomi share a certain cockiness but Icarus died and despite inadequate forethought on Xiaomi's part (that affected very few people) Xiaomi's cars are as popular as ever. Icarus was cocky and foolhardy, viz. unjustifiably cocky, but Xiaomi's cockiness was more justifiable - there was real engineering there but it fell a bit short for SU7 owners taking their cars to a racing track. Evidently Xiaomi is accepting the responsibility to upgrade the brakes which doesn't mean that the SU7 MAX becomes a track car.
Zeekr 009 have HUD.
The refreshed version does. This is the original model, which didn't have HUD
Will it come to Europe?
No plans yet unfortunately. Although Zeekr as a brand is in Europe...so maybe there is hope. But is Europe really going to buy an EV like this do you think?
@ChinaDriven i would take a hard thougt about it. Thinking about to get an ID Buzz. But this Seekr Looks great.
i want the ID Buzz
I need this!!!
I really doubt that 12kWh/100km efficiency. But I do like it and might even buy it. It is a surprise car, very gentle styling and it looks better then any Tesla.
Its efficiency is on the CTLC so real world is not gunna be that high. I just give these stats so viewers can compare EV A vs EV B
Xiaomi needs to change the brake caliper. Big body but small pads.
It's supposedly not the caliper. But was the brake pads themselves. Very soft for road use, couldn't handle sustained high heat. But thats kind of normal for many road brake pads. they now offer free upgrade for pads and brake fluid
Wish to own one for daily drive ❤

nice review. I see you went all bananas about it ;-) What do you think will be real world range with bigger battery?
Generally you see somewhere between 80-75% of the CLTC range. But do remember in China we are still mostly urban driving.
Looks great but the wheels look cheap like Corvette. Imo Corvette is the poor mans supercar. You dont want to copy its style
@@NeygarzruinedAmerica The wheels are my least favourite part of this. I made comment when it was unveiled to Mark from InsideChinaAuto
I rarely reply to TH-cam videos, but damn this is a special occasion to say the least. Massive kudos to your review with all the details and most importantly the "personal" feeling that you get from the car itself, can't wait till this is available in Greece sometime in the near future because i think it will shift the way people visualize and understand current generation EV cars. You just gained a new sub, keep up the good work!
Greatly appreciated! And glad you enjoyed the video!
Vw Buzz is not comparable with this car. Sorry, but Buzz has character, this car doesn't. Looks boaring to me.
This is uncanny. How does it manage to stay afloat? Given the water was leaking out after coming out of the pool, it seems to have tanks on the sides like a submarine that fills up with water when it floats to give it some buoyancy. Awesome video!
Good question! Unfortunately I don't have the answer!
Love your channel, you're an excellent presenter... however, a LOT of hand movements in this one.
I generally talk with my hands, but on media events under pressure and trying to remember my points it sometimes goes into overdrive hahaha
Well, I live in China for 14 years and I'm still not convinced in the reliability of BYD's cars...
I arrived around a similar time. Back in 2011. And from driving the BYD F3DM which was...well it had four wheels. To the first gen BYD Tang, which had 550hp and 0-100 in 4.9s, but also had brake like milk tops. I can definitely say things have moved on in a very big way. Nowadays in the Changsha all the taxis are BYD E5s, and many many Didi's are also BYDs, I'd say those abused vehicles are holding up considerably well, as well as the old VW Jettas being used before.
True but what happens when solid state batteries come out? I'd wait till then. Test-drove many EVs recently and not crazy about the ride quality...We bought a Cadillac GT4 instead, less than 200K@@ChinaDriven
yeah legacy auto is finished...
Amazing car. We want this in India but they will probably sell for twice the price negating their insanely good value for money proposition.
I'm not so up to speed on the situations of imports into India, but I think i read you have quite high import tariffs. The best hope is Xiaomi decide to go localised production. But I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Its criminal how chinese cars are not already in every corner of the world. They are cheap and as good as other cars.
I see what is on offer in the UK, and even the offerings of Chinese EVs are...limited and not the best they have to offer.
Side profile is very much an Aston Martin Valkyrie
One thing I learned is that if the car is not marketed as a track car, and you don’t know what it takes to drive fast other then pressing the gas pedal, then don’t take it to the track, period. Even for performance oriented cars, I would recommend having someone who knows their stuff examining the entire brake system before you go. Take the new M4 for example, many people don’t know that there is a cover in the front wheel arch that you should remove to open the channel which leads to an intake at the front bumper to cool the brake rotors. And because of the fact that the new M4 is brake by wire, the system automatically adjusts the pressure on the callipers by computer, hence it is really hard for amateur drivers to realize that the brakes are over heating until total failure. This is not a problem just for Xiaomi, it is just a problem that is becoming increasingly common due to EVs in general introducing power figure that was obviously reserved for selected few in the not so distant past, but at a much more accessible price. And therefore, you get more drivers who have no respect for speed and power, handling the kind of power that they are not supposed to possess.
I was talking about how insane it is that the Xiaomi SU7 ultra is gunna costs as little as it does for a legit 1500hp. And even if it has ceramic brakes…that just means the brakes will resist fade, but you still need to know what you are doing.
A billionaire died when she reversed her X into a lake
Are the production car certified to be driven like maniac on the track? That is not a normal use case. Would the breaks fail driving on normal roads
answered both in the video Edit: Seems the original comment changed a little. In the video I clearly stated that brakes for road going cars are made for on-road performance, and it’s unreasonable to assume they can keep up with on-track demands. And I stated anyone who tracks a car knows you need to at least upgrade the brake pads, brake fluid and even better the brake lines to stainless steel. However on the flip side. Xiaomi enjoyed a lot of viral ads and videos they put out of the SU7 Max on track. Of course there are small disclaimers, but we know in reality people don’t read such information. So it wasn’t surprising to see people take than to the track emulating what they had seen online only to have brake problems. That was obviously going to happen because people are dumb. Lol
Cool. But beware of current (water, not electric)!
HAHAHA! Actually I didn't go massively into depth, but it will (or does already have) the ability to track GPS while floating and help to keep you drifting too far.
Water polo - canoe polo - car polo.
To think there could be a more niche version of polo than canoe polo hahaha.
Ok, this is genuinely insane!!
It’s a crazy feature. But it speaks to the lengths Chinese OEMs go in development. Showing many doubters who think the Chinese can’t innovate…
