Fun when there aren't 500 jeeps going 30mph
Lol I wasn't going much faster! But I had to keep you from going too fast though... Haha
@@ghostontwowheels you were my speed limiter
Every time Honda releases a dct trim for a model. It’s the best selling trim. Most people probably don’t care about the transmission.
Agreed. It's the vocal minority. They say keep saying "nobody wants this!" Yet manufacturers keep coming out with ways to make it easier: DCT, e-clutch, Y-AMT, and basically the same thing on Kawasaki's hybrids. Why would they keep doing it if "nobody wants it"... Silly people out there!
I purchased my first motorcycle this year at the end of April. I bought the KLR650 adventure abs. I am having a blast. This motorcycle is not a one trick pony and doesn’t pull any punches. I throw my spotting scope and bino’s and scout for big game.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing and checking out the video.
Looking back on this makes me miss riding chill like this just shooting the breeze!
We'll do it again!
@@ghostontwowheels looking forward to it
A good concise review. It’ll be the engine that will make me buy one.🇬🇧🇬🇧
Awesome! If you get one I'd love to hear what you think about it. Thanks for checking it out!
Great demo review
Thanks! Fun bike and looks good!
Love it! Zoom zoom.
Got this amd the and nk and the Mt 03 to have for first bike im 5'6 and commute to work short now but in year time maybe a hour drive
TELL BARB TO BRANG ME BACK 2 $5 SCRATCHERS AND SUM THEM TOSTATOS DIP CHIP THANGS GOBBLES
It's amazing how fast the human body can detect and react to a situation!!!! Stay safe out there!!!!
The NC is the perfect bike for 99 percent of people it's gets these is it any good reviews that make people question it kind of like people hated Nicole back for no reason, I've had one for 2 years and willl always have something on a similar platform, I would like to addd a bike with more power to my stable, but never give up the reliability mileage and usability of the NC it trumps power buy a lot.
The KLR is an antiquated piece of CRAP.
Cool. I like it. Not bad for the price. Thanks for stopping by!
@@ghostontwowheels Haven't done your home work, and neither did I. Its a piece of crap, every time I take mine for a ride something falls off or breaks. It's a piece of crap and there are much better bikes for similar price..
No homework for me (yet) as I'm not buying, but I hear you. You don't like it. But I've also heard from plenty others who say it's great, reliable, and cheap to maintain. So I can only speak to my limited experience and how it performed during that demo ride... And to that it was good for me. Sorry to hear about your experience, but thanks for sharing.
Yes they are there for girls 👧
Figured a gatekeeper would show up eventually...
That be like when everything used to be stick shift. Someone probably asked same thing. Are automatic cars really cars? Lmao
Yep, how dare we have technology evolve, become more reliable, and let our lives get a little easier... Ha
I hope Harley realizes how amazing the new engine is and it needs to be in a supersport/hypernaked platform.
I hope to see more diversity from H-D, but I think it'll be very slow if it happens. The Pan America and live wire were big steps, but I'm sure they don't want to cut off their "traditional market" either.
Have you been on 197 coming south out of Erwin, TN?
No, haven't been that way. I did take 321 over to Boone and then 221 by Grandfather Mtn back towards Asheville. That was fun!
@@ghostontwowheels I'll be up in Boone and Banner Elk the weekend of the 20th.....gonna take some people to see Valle Crucis, and maybe over Roan Mtn.
I ride up that way all the time. Great roads!
If they have 2 wheels, yes.. If they don't have 2 wheels then no.
I just tried one about a month ago. Besides the power it almost felt exactly like my V-Strom. A little heavy but comfortable. The local Harley shop keeps calling me to try to get me to buy one.
I keep getting calls too! But hey, that's part of it!
@@ghostontwowheels first time riding a Harley. Totally worth the struggles.
I like it(for a Harley)
A good move for HD. Cruisers aren't my vibe, so I had basically ruled out Harley (plus there's SOME culture there that is a turn off), but this is a good machine!
This Engine, Transmission and platform had been a Shit-Show for H-D with reliability issues, warranty claims, and just plain hassles for the customers, I hope the 2024 Models fixed all these issues ????
Interesting. I have heard that. Seemed pretty good to me, other than the general "rumble" the whole time. That kinda got old for me. But still it was a nice ride for the 25 minutes I was on it.
Cool Harley built a Honda. 😮
Sweet...finally a Harley worth owning
That's funny. If only it would be as reliable as one or might be more of a contender. Maybe it's on its way there.
It doesn't sound like a Harley.
Right? Makes it worth riding now! 😂
Audio bad on phone speaker btw, very hard to hear you. Good review though
hmm, I'll have to look into my mic setup then. Thanks for the feedback!
were there any requirements before the demo? Did you have to purchase a piece of HD clothing that matched the bike?
I mean of course... but I kept it discreet and went with the underwear so no one would see it. #CRANKTHATHAWG
@@ghostontwowheels GOBBLESS YA BRUDDER
Is this a comfortable sport bike.
Yeah, basically. I don't know what the long term comfort would be for touring, like after 100 miles or a couple hours, but it's definitely got the heart of a sport bike just with upright ergos for comfort.
@ghostontwowheels that sounds too good. Could you say it's for people who want the GS 1250 but for the streets?
@@nomsi4263 nah, I'd say it's a S1000RR without the sportbike lean. It's a different characteristic since it's an inline 4 cylinder, where the 1250's are the boxer twins, so they are more torquey.
@@ghostontwowheels wow, that's crazy. So, the M version must be insane.
"i can't get behind the headlight" while being self aware that you're currently behind the headlight was great 😂
I thought it was an important clarification to make. 😂
@@ghostontwowheels 😂
How was the adjustable seat?
😂 so it has two settings. You unlock rear seat and then just use a different set of brackets or whatever to put it slightly higher or slightly lower! The lady just did it and I was like "oh... That is a thing..." 😂
@@ghostontwowheels Now we just need to get Chase to watch someone adjust it. 😂
What about chase’s adjustable seating? 😉 chaos reigns supreme love the reveiw
Thanks!
@@ghostontwowheels ofc man!
I went from supersports to supernakeds when i turned 40 thinking now i’m old. Just turned 51 and traded my KTM 1290 evo in for a 2024 S1000XR. And i absolutly LOVE it! It can hang with the best of them in the twisties and then take me home in absolute comfort. Perfection!
That's awesome! How long have you had the bike? I have a perception (probably incorrect) that bikes like this are just much more expensive to own, as far as scheduled maintenance and such. What's your experience been like with that? Thanks for sharing and stopping by!
What device are you using to record your speech? I’ve got the same helmet, but I don’t want to have to mount a camera on it.
I used the integrated Cardo for the voice. Very convenient, but a wired mic would have cleaner audio. Yeah, the downside to this helmet style is mounting a camera, but I actually got a separate face shield that I put a mount on. I should've just ordered the new Chinmount thing, but I ended up 3D printing my own that fit the shape of the helmet, then using JB weld to make it stick! lol a little overkill, and not terribly clean, but it worked! You can see that setup on my Multistrada V2 video.
I'd like to try their bikes out at some point.
Demo truck will be at Barber in October. Or you can go to Lexington KY right after SmortCon!
Hitting N is awesome!
Did you notice the speedometer went to 0? 😂
@@ghostontwowheels that's pro level shifting
Which one would you choose? CFMoto 450NK, Kawasaki Z500, Honda CB500F, or Triumph Speed 400?
Ibex 450 😂
I'd go with this and get something on the exhaust. Sounds better than the Z400/500, Honda is a bunch heavier and the 471cc is meh and the Speed 400 is slightly not enough and a big single which I'm not a fan of. I sat on this and the Speed 400 and the Triumph feels too regular and not enough of a sports bike in the position I like. Anything from Honda new for the 500 bikes is overpriced now.
@@Klooney9mm That's fair. When we've gotten into these comparisons lately it almost surprised me how much more the Hondas are compared to the others. Granted, we dug into it a bit a while back on a LOTW episode, but the Hondas typically have a little bit upscale components, so I think if money isn't an issue, I'd probably lean that way for the reliability and parts. Hondas are typically a little more muted in their street bike engines, but they also last forever. I enjoyed the Triumph though, it was comfy, but the single is going limit the performance in comparison for sure. It'd be great for a little around town. I'd love to give the new Z500 a whirl to see where it sits. I couldn't care less about the sound of a bike. I'd get an exhaust for performance or weight savings, but not for sound.
I’ve put 360,000 miles on klr 650’s I love these bikes. I will be retiring my gen 2 here shortly for a gen 3 I will rebuild the gen 2 and hold onto it for my son. It currently has 230,000 miles on it
Nice! They seem pretty bulletproof. 230,000 miles on a motorcycle is ridiculous! Awesome!
What'd you have to replace in those 230,000 miles? Was that all on a single top end?
What revs do you change up at? It looked like you were holding it in 1st and 2nd longer than I do which might be where I'm going wrong with it. I change up early and driving at constant speed, low revs has a whole bunch of hesitation, not smooth.
Normally I shift earlier than most people, as I'm not a big revving person, but I'm some cases here I do hang on to a gear a little bit longer so that you get more power for the acceleration. I don't know the exact revs, different for every bike, but you can kind of feel when you're getting on the high end and need to shift. One of those things you feel out. Thanks for checking out the video!
I have a speed twin 1200, looking to add a small cc bike in my collection, do you think the bike has enough power? Or just buy the 900?
Really depends on what you mean by "enough power". This bike would not be great at long runs on the freeway, but it's certainly enough to get around town and have fun with. And it's comfortable! Thanks!
Nice reviews I like your Chanel so you have new subscriber from Sweden ,I am newbie but I buy the Versays 1000 SE 2023 I am tall guy 193 cm and 119 kg and this bike fits me prefect i don't have any problems with the weight at all the bike is perfect balanced and my type of riding is cruising nice bike ,I have test Yamaha Tracer 9 + GT but as you say it feels small and it was nothing for me cheers
Thanks! I'm certainly no professional, but I'm trying to get better with this channel. Always good to see another fellow Versys rider. I think they are a unique bike and it takes the right kind of person to get one, but it's been great! Ride safe!
I agree .. The revs of inline 4's are definitely smoother than a twin but all inline 4's have more vibrations than a boxer unless they start adding counter-balancers into the engine. Which BMW inline4 are you most impressed with?
That boxer just felt vibey as soon as I cranked it up. I appreciated my online 4 so much more on the way home that day! The only BMW online 4 I road was the s1000xr. But that was nice!
Absolutely. Ive been riding for a year and my next bike will be the rebel 1100 dct. I get the arguments made for a manual, however for my average day to day riding, a automatic would be perfect.
There ya go. And it's not even really "an argument". It's a preference. I've said this on other places too, I lean toward manual as a general preference, but some days I would love a DCT for that commuting traffic, or when I'm just focusing on the ride itself. Thanks for checking out my rant! 😄
No clutch makes it a scooter 🛵
The US Department of Transportation defines a scooter as a motorcycle that has a platform for the operator's feet or has integrated footrests and has a step-through architecture. BTW, scooters do have clutches too. ;-)
I own a Honda Navi. And if I ever doubted that I was driving a motorcycle, all I have to do is come on TH-cam and pull about 1000 review videos from everyone from average people to experts that that absolutely love it and feel it is indeed a motorcycle. Even the very rare negative review isn't even terribly negative. The only people that will tell you an automatic motorcycle isn't a real motorcycle are compensators...
Agreed. Thanks for the comment!
Of course they are real motorbikes. Just a Bit like people while at work. Missing a bit of their soul
Thanks for the opinion.
Day 1 oil leakage, day 15 front mudguard guard came out, day 30 service centre guy sprayed wd 40 on brake pad boom brake failed. Such a non triumph experience in India
Yikes... sounds like it could be a dealer issue who "assembled" it, but if not, that's a big problem for Triumph.
I just purchased a 2024 yes I’ve down sized I am very pleased to handling. The price is good. I really could use the kickstand on center but overall very pleased with the bike. Great video. Thank you
Thanks! I really just like the simplicity of it too.
