Good repair and should be temporary at best. They should replace with preinsulated underground pipe and get it done correctly. At the end of the day, you can only do what is asked for.

hi tom had a job with something similiar last year the lesson here is never let the customer buy or order the materials as they are not on a price or hourly rate looks good in the suppliers show room no pipework ( ect) a job that should have taken best part of a day took 3& half weeks from suppliers to finish! keep up the good work and the vids ... oh and dump the suppliers . from the other comments i've read

I wrapped a temporary underground 0.2 square inch copper cable joint up on a night call out after a fault earlier in the day.put about ten layers on and warmed it with a gas torch and smoothed it down. Long story short, it was forgotten about! About ten years later someone dug it out whilst overlaying the old main. Still as good as the day it went in. 😂

A very nice repair there Tom . Brings back memorys when I used to watch the Wm Wright's heating lads installing metal pipe .it's an art in it self .

Nice video mate! Feel your pain was digging up leaks last week in the freezing weather couldn’t feel my hands by the end of it!

Always find it nerve racking drilling new holes for the taps in a new bath. Sometimes better with holes already there but in a way it's better to drill your own holes so you can make the hole just a couple miller bigger than the 3/4 thread. Better that way than pre drilled holes that are 100 times bigger than the thread going through them

If you drill 3 holes under cylinder the air circulates , enjoyed your vid Tom legendary as always Top man

That pump head has definitely been swapped . It's a 180 body so should have a 25-80 on it. That 15-50 won't do 40 rads 😂😂 . Nice work Tom as always . Your mate is a bargain if you're paying him in freddos 😂😂

Thought it looked like 11/4” pipe. Glad you used Loctite 55 and not ptfe. 55 is spot on. Years ago we had to change a 24” pipe carbon steel to cast with a lead joint and had to wrap it all with Denso tape. Job well done there Tom. You knew I’d be watching you didn’t you Tom? lol.

Hi Tom, a job well done there mate as always, I have used many rolls of denso tape in the past, I always use gloves with that stuff. Hope all joints remained water tight when the system got up to pressure. Have a great weekend and take care Tom. 👍👍👍

I think I remember this job doesn’t it elbow in the court yard and you replaced a section near the first flat? They need a full repipe if it is.

With those remnants of PS insulation that's not underground heating, it's ground heating. Terrible waste of precious energy.

Looks great. One thing I like about press-fit elbows is they all look like they are long radius. Are the tees fully swept too?
