Thanks for the support as always Paul, I will try and find out, someone commented below who seems to think you can get a replacement for these, I know fluid master are making a universal one with bayonets they clip off and on depending on the existing flush valve, as far as I know they aren't available yet

They used to be solid brass so they won't rust, the guy who taught me would never use anything else on pans and cisterns, I use stainless now but they are as good, thanks for watching

I've heard one is coming out, do you know who makes them as they would be handy? I've heard fluid master are making a flush valve with inter changeable bayonets but I've not seen them yet. Thanks for the support Chris

@@PlumbLikeTom very true, especially when they have boxed in right to the bottom of the cistern and silicones it to the wall

It was Steve, it may block in the gulley in tbe future but we didn't have much choice, there was a kitchen sink waste going into the same gulley so hopefully this should help to keep it well flushed. Thanks for watching

@@PlumbLikeTom You know your job and lack nothing! But I would never do such a thing, it is against building regulations, for urine to be discharged into a gully.

Hi Tom, I’m a little confused as I was under the impression only wastes from sinks, basins, baths, washing machines and dishwashers (grey water) can discharge into a B.I.G directly or via a hopper head. Foul (Black water) ie: WCs, urinals, bidets etc must connect into a S.V.P or directly into the underground drainage system. I only ask as I’m questioning myself why I’ve not known this before and have been a plumbing and heating Engineer for 40 years now! It’s a little strange but I do enjoy watching all of your videos after doing the same work all day😂

I would sell them, I believe someone is bringing out an interchangeable flush valve that's compatible with these old bayonets. It certainly does make life easier just being able to clip in a new valve when the old ones break, thanks for watching Dave

I thought I recognised it. Spent many a day there, walked the beach for hours and worked at Theddlethorpe gas terminal for about 6 weeks once. Spent a full day in the induction which I can’t get back. lol. I used to have a caravan at Saltfleet years ago and went to Ingomelds regularly as well when my daughter was young.

It's an unvented cylinder so the expansion comes off from the combi block, on a vented cylinder, putting a lever valve on the outlet is a big no, but on this type of cylinder it's good practice
