    As always with you Tom, with th sink fitting nice to see a proper professional who knows when something is not right and doesn't try to bodge it and walk away but does it right and reinforces your reputation. It is a pity when you do see the bodgers who are cheaper and get away with it leaving the customer out of pocket and having to pay twice to get somepne like you to sort out issues.. Bummer on the broken cistern - so annoying when that happens!

    Great content Tom, I’ve said before, the transparency of your channel is what keeps me watching. Many would have left that basin, but right is right and call backs ruin reputations mate. Bathrooms are always trouble imo, haven’t done one yet that’s been straightforward! I’m doing a refurb this week, replacing the whole suite and blown shower wall in a Victorian house. Removed the first board and it took the tiles.plaster and lime mortar clean off the wall back to brick! Joy!

    Once I was called to a similar job were the plumber had stuck the whb on with mastic on the back and propped it up overnight.
    The next day day the costumer took the timber away and it fell straight on the floor 🙂. There seems to be too much frontage on those oval cloakroom basins, the old horizontal shape would hold.
    One of those WHB metal plates fitted behind the basin might be the answer?

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't like the brackets on these basins much, the ones with bolts are better, this was nice and solid when I was done though. They used to do a kit that bolted though the waste to hold it at the bottom on some basins, they were good but they looked ugly, thanks for watching

    Hi Tom, sorry for the late comment, been on a late call out job.
    Another great film thank you, I knew you would not be happy with the basin until you got some ply behind it for a secure fixing. Well done mate it looked a great job once you had finished. I know you always do a fantastic job, I do the same, it takes me longer especially because I’m getting old now, but I will not leave a job until I’m 100% happy with it. I’m sure you are just the same. Have a great week Tom and as always take care mate. 👍👍👍

    I hate fixing sinks to plasterboard. If I couldn't get timber behind them I normally only use one strong screw and heavy-duty plasterboard fixing per bracket to prevent the plasterboard from bursting out when the drill holes are that close together and plenty of sticks like sh!t,

      That is strange, is isn't something I can recall seeing before either, I don't come across that many 2000 models, but I would imagine the fault codes are much the same across them all. Stop flashes up when you fill the system, It could be the fill loop passing, or an issue with the pressure switch. I would disconnect the external fill loop to make sure it's not passing. If that is Ok, and the boiler is under warranty, I would get Worcester out, hope that helps, thanks for watching Wayne

      The shower area was all mermaid boarded out, and it was just down for a single tile splashback over the basin, which the builder was sorting. They probably would have worked, I just didn't like the thought of it being leaned on, and pulling forward, it was really solid when I was finished, thanks for watching

    It should have been painted first and plastered correctly. As we can all see the nails popping.

    I don't think you messed up at all. The builder didn't put the ply in and you worked around it. Hope you had a good time with your mates.

      @@PlumbLikeTom It's really funny timing, as I'm building my own home right now and was deciding yesterday whether I needed to put in ply for the sink and toilet. I didn't, but did for the towel rail. I'm going to remove the plasterboard and put ply in tomorrow!

    Is it just natural normal human nature to do a less good job/cut corners if there's something you just don't like about a customer? Is it wrong not to feel guilty?
