1965 RCA Victor "New Vista" Television Restoration
This was a fun break from the older tube sets and ended up with a very strong image. I'm probably keeping this set for myself for a while. It's a nice MCM piece. RCA was pumping out some rock solid sets during this time.

This is a 1953 Zenith L1800R (Ch. 19L34) Super "K" Chassis. I hope to do a restoration in the future on this set because the picture tube decided to wake up. I'm curious how much work has been done to it in the past.

Nice atomic looking television from 1958. I'm sad to see the set go, but was fun to work on while I had it. Now someone else can enjoy it.

Unbelievably excited on this next series. The Kuba Komet has safely arrived home. I will be doing a full electronic restoration and keeping the cabinet as is. I'm excited to show inner details of the inside and share measurements of what these works of art look like in person. Let me know if you have any advice or questions!

Really pretty RCA Victor television set from 1961. I'd love to be able to keep this beauty but trying to downsize at the moment. I feel the portable designs really exploded in the late 1950s-1960s before complete transistor sets while keeping the Atomic style.

I picked up a set I restored a few years ago from the person I sold it to. I'm glad to have it back in my collection and look forward to restoring it to 100% in a later video. It operates on 220v which isn't a problem, but the sound I can't get to sync up with the audio. I'm thinking of bypassing the tuner completely and adding AV inputs for the video and audio. Stay tuned!

I have a Fisher stereo from 1964. A few years ago, when I was cleaning it out, a stink bug managed to fall inside the dial and get stuck in there. I tried everything I could think of to get it out, but there wasn't anything I could do to get it out, without breaking the dial because it's such a tight space, between the dial cover and the number plate. I thought it was dead and I was going to have to have someone take the stereo apart. I forgot about it for a year. The thing stayed in there, the whole time. Then I slid the case off, when I had to move the stereo, and wouldn't you know it, the damned thing actually managed to work its way out. It was still alive!

The little New Vista is actually a very small tube. When cleaning a New Vista tuner use care. Pull the 2 shields & put a tiny amount of cleaner on the contacts only. Using too much often causes the RF amp to break out in oscilations. C U Later

My grandpa had the fitting office desk and a similrly shaped book- & record cabinet as well as a small coffe table in his office. All of this furniture was very evvagantly shaped and had this two-tone veneer. When we cleared out the house, nobody wanted this furniture, not even for free. That was in 2014.

Thanks for showing this furniture and many thanks for taking up the effort of saving it. it is an impressive peace of entertainment electronics and certainly rare and even more in this converted version. the original owner must have loved this as much as you do and both of you are lucky to have the space to keep it. actually i think its well presented in your room as far as the video shows. there was a time when each living room was dominated by the tv set but rarely a device of this impressive size. all the radio and tv companies of these days had their own big wood workshops and used some really impressive expertise to offer even more impressive products than the competitors. this comet really must not have easy beeing overtaken by any other manufacturer. apart from this you needed some really big pocket to pay für it as it back in the days was expensive like a small car but it was adressed to customers driving a big car anyway 😊. and you answered the question from the start of the video yourself: now as you got it, what to do next? get it up and running. that will be a brillant travel through tv history. best, albrecht
