    It would be fun to see period-correct programming on these sets, such as Rod Serling's 1959 series _The Twilight Zone._ As a youngster, I remember seeing multiple variations of the Predicta, and they seemed rather commonplace at that time.

      I do only watch old movies on these sets. I just don't want to get a copyright claim on my videos. The old movies just look and sound better on these

    Very nice Predicta! You seem to know your way around repairing and maintaining these old beauties, You should think about doing tutorial/guide type videos on repairing/troubleshooting and maintaining these beautiful TV's since some people have gotten into older electronics and don't know where to start!

      I should eventually do a video like this. There are a lot of guys out there that know a lot more than I do, and I still have a lot to learn but hopefully in the future I'll make a general restoration tutorial.

    On my Tandem the plug had to be held just so or the picture would disappear . Rather than replace plug I took a strip of aluminum and drilled a hole on each side and into the chassis to hold the plug tight against the chassis socket.

    I must say you do great restorations on your vintage electronics. I became very excited last week when I saw a ebay listing for a very rare 17 inch Sylvania dualett
    TV it was the blue and white model. It sold for $ 1,500. I know rare TV sets can bring big bucks but I must say, wow to the $1,500 price tag on a as is as found unrestored great condition set. I have TWO of this model tv's that I got back in the 1970s in my early days of collecting. I have a large collection of radios but only seven vintage tv's, I have the red RCA you have in a video and i have
    a GE locomotive and a couple of other sets. I only repair radios I do not restore tv's the stuff that I had my hands on back in the 1970s that I did not save just makes me sad when I think back, hindsight is 20/20 As they say.

      Thank you! Yeah $1,500 seems really high. I've heard the plastic on those crack really easily after all of these years too. I'm surprised how many amazing sets have come my way after only collecting for 3 years.

      @@televisionforever it's amazing how the extremely rare pieces have gone up in value but the most commonplace stuff is not that expensive. Also let me comment and is nice to see people of the younger generation getting into this vintage electronics stuff. My first antique Radio was trash picked by believe Back in 1970 out of an abandoned house on the Block that was being torn down. I still have the radio to this date it is a 1949 philco transitowne with a Bakelite case very simple 5 tube ac-dc set.

    I find junk like that thrown out into the woods allt hetime. Wild ancient refrigerators too. Styling was wild back then... art deco or pastels or wood.

    The tandem is for sure high on my bucket list. I just hope I can find one someday! How much did you pay for this?

    • @televisionforever
      @televisionforever  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It was on my bucket list for a while as well. I paid $900 from another collector which I believe is a great price. I've seen these sell for much higher unrestored and not in this cosmetic condition.

    Have one of these in our basement. (non-working) don't know if it might be restoreable.
