  • This is a 1930s RCA Oscillograph/oscilloscope. Apparently, these are pretty hard to come by, and this one is in excellent condition. I love to have this in my collection and love that I'm able to show a video about this rare piece of electronic test equipment history.

Such a great find! I’d love to stumble on a Philco 022T Oscilloscope. It doesn’t seem massively different internally. Some of the 1930s Philco test equipment was just beautiful with brass front panels. I did snag a 7050 tube tester from about ’48, but they started nickel-plating the brass fronts by that time. Still beautiful, though. Just needs re-capping, and there’s literally only 1 capacitor. It does power up, but I didn’t want to risk any of my tubes with it yet. So yeah, I love the old test equipment, too. Thanks for the great channel!

How 'bout that... an almost century-old piece of tech that still functions almost perfectly after only some minimal repairs done to it.

I would fit the new caps inside the original casings, it would look so much better & original.

I agree, this is an item worth re-stuffing the original capacitors to keep the clean look. I won't be using it very often. Once I get my new workshop, that would be a nice project.

That looks like a nice old school piece of tech. It looks so clean coming from the factory. No spaghetti junction of wires and caps. Like you replied to an earlier post. It would look so much better if you try to keep it as original as possible by re-stuffing the caps.

Hi, I recently found your channel and I wanted to reach out as I didn’t see any other contacts. I just found a Zenith 10s669 and I don’t really know where to start electronics wise. Do you have any tips or videos on recapping/electronics repair. Thanks

See YTer D-lab Electronics video on how to repair a Zenith 10S464. Terry is a good teacher on such things but
usually doesn't show older radio repairs like his Zenith but is VERY much like yours.
