While I wait for the parts for my GE locomotive tv I have been working on some other radios I have and it has been pretty fun so far! Earlier today attempted to power up a 1955 admiral radio and it was drawing the proper wattage but nothing was coming from the speaker, and like magic right after I was thinking about how odd that was a black plastic capacitor exploded. It was SUPER loud and i was pretty shocked at that moment to say the least. And when I looked at it I saw that the capacitor was blown in two. Those plastic capacitors are scary!
Wow, yeah it’s become sort of a meme at this point to suggest, “recap it” radio or television, but it really is the safest option for long term use. Glad you’re okay!
