Wow Jack, you really put a valiant effort into trying to get this TV to work! With all the TVs you have restored, it's obvious you enjoy a challenge. This style of TV was popular from 1956 to 1958. They used a 90 degree deflection angle CRT, hot chassis, series string filaments, usually had a voltage doubler power supply, and the circuitry I would classify as jury rigged, bailing wire, and bubble gum construction. In other words: cheap as possible construction. Very little thought was given to servicing these sets and it is easy to get electrocuted trying to work on them. You were fortunate to get the TV to work that well. The distorted, wavy picture is commonly caused by the sync pulses in the video getting partially clipped or the IF alignment is off. There was so little shielding in the video IF with that set, you may also have some low level regeneration going on in the video IF.
Great TV collection that you have. Nice Kuba with the retro fitted magnavox chassis. Nice find. FYI. I will be selling TWO very rare tv sets in the not two distent future. Sylvania dualett model 17 D 303. I have two of them. I am in Florida now but will return to NY next spring. Both TV sets were trash picked way back in the 1980s. Both restoration. Any interest ?? Let me know.
These are so unbelievably beautiful. God it sucks how plain TVs and other appliances have become.
Great work and keep it up. Always enjoy your videos

Beautiful set but it's like it's fighting you every step. You'll win though.
A disappointment for your viewers but hey, that Kuba Komet is awesome! Good luck.
Not disappointed at all, it's a neat piece of kit
